Help! Developed peripheral neuro palsy !
BypassKrista posted a topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
After i woke up from sugery my foot, ankle and part of my calf was numb. Three weeks later,it still is and i don't know what to do. I called my pcp and surgeon still no help. I'm beginning to lose hope. I'm losing weight but at what cost? Walking? Any one went or is going through this? Please share your insight. -

Thanks you two and @@coastalchick that article gave me hope. I've really been trying to walk as much as i can so my muscles strengthen up. I'm starting to wiggle my toes some and i got a foot drop brace for support. I'm just craving to wear heels and can't because i will fall. Hopefully my case is like that guys and it takes 45 days for it to spontaneously get better. -

Help! Developed peripheral neuro palsy !

Well i have been given the run around with from my surgeon's office and finally got an appointment for a follow-up so i can get a referral for the neurologist. I recently found out that i have scoliosis so that could be a contributing factor to how i was laying on the table. Thanks a bunch for the support you two , i felt really alone in this. -

Hey and thanks for commenting. My foot is still numb and i had to get a brace. This has been an emotional rollercoaster for me because of it. Honestly i rather my mid be numb than my foot because i can't run or exercise the way i want to. I haven't been back to work because i need a brace and a cane for support. It just sucks. -
Hey everyone! How is dating post op? I just had the surgery oct.20th but i was dating before than and cut who ever i was talking to off. It's not that he wasn't supportive, he just didn't understand why needed it after explaining a million times. Should we have a bypass mixer or something ? I know it's my time to focus on me but it would be nice to mingle a smidget.

Thanks jonathan for your insight and support! Your awesome ! I was thinking the same thing i just battle with myself sometimes. (i blame my gemini moon).
-
Overall you will be fine and i wish you the best success on your journey. Woohoo ! Your almost there! ????????????
-
And thanks i think that the surgery is a hardle and when you get home it's extra hard.@@Ivanova8 Everyone is use to big stomach so for me transitioning my mind to understanding the amount i'm eating now is ok is the challenge.lol
-
@@Ivanova8 They are more so incredibly uncomfortable and embarrassing lol. Walking around with a pee box is not the best feeling but, if needed i just deal with it.
-
Oh and you will have a drop test where you drink this nasty stuff that requires you to have them off. They gotta take pics of the new pouch to make sure there are no leaks.

Jenn i had bladder issues it required me to have a catheter my whole time there. So it might be different for you but honestly, i preferred nothing anyway because of the pressure against my stomach from the elastic bands on them.
-
I had on two gowns so no one saw my goodies but i couldn't wear anything else because i had bladder issues and had to use a semi permanent catheter for my walks so if i wasn't mooning the male staff , they saw my box full of pee.lol

What’s Your Halloween Plan?
BypassKrista replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
My mom number 2.5 kept what i called "the bucket of sin" fyi a pupkin full of chocolate in the house ????. But other than that im just gonna kick back relaxed and trick the treaters ???? lol. -
I guess pack what you know you will use not THINK lol (I made that mistake) Know, because i was there for 3 nights. Only because i sucked at the liquid challenge at the end and had to start over..????. Each case is different so take what you feel comfortable with.
-
I know! I had the cutest night gowns and everything but i promise you i didn't touch a thing untill they kicked me out lol I was also on my period so i over packed but you are gonna have things monitoring you heart and nurses coming in checking your vitals every hour. Your new bestie will be the morphine drip and your bed because you won't really need underwear either from all the test you will be taking.

Bump your protein to 80 grams and take that with D3 5000 iu and b12 in the morning. I guarantee it will help.

Protein powder
BypassKrista replied to jenn2752781's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm an organic girl and i try not to take things with aspartame or other harmful chemicals in it. I would strongly suggest raw protein unflavored for weight loss . It has 45 grams of protein in one scoup. Plus after sugery, the major key to your weight loss is protein, vitamins , and water for the first two weeks so why not have the best? Comes with a green top and can be found at vitamin shop or whole foods. -
Help with crushing meds into food/liquid

I plan certain pills and protein with my meal and smoothies. So maybe try tomato and basil soup and mix it in with that -

Check out some food at whole foods market. They have butter nut squash that tastes like sweet potatoes with less sugar. You can also try baked tilapia with it (just chew it up real good and you should be ok) -
Phone, charger, underclothes, and you is all you need. I just had mines done last monday and had the nerve to bring a suitcase (im a girly girl ????????????) but all i really needed was a cute scarf and a fresh pair of underclothes to leave in. You might as well keep the gown that they gave you on because it's hard to move around with an iv pole attached to you.

I just had mines done last monday and so far the biggest thing to your weight loss should be your protein and water. Try the weight loss raw protein at whole foods and follow the protein diet for 2 weeks and i guarantee you will get results.
