I love the idea of Australia, Sades. Just don't know how many of us can get over there. Any chance of you coming to the States in the next year?

November Nymphs Summer Meltdown Challenge

Sades, I have about 6.5cc in a 10cc band. I'll go up another .5. That's all I can do at one time. I think that would get me into Onederland. -

Another pound, Sades?!! Forget getting another fill! I want a whole new band!! Just kidding... Actually the next surgery I want is a tummy tuck when I get close to goal. Maybe by next spring if I get back on track. I'm going to try and get a fill next week. -
Hi Nymphs! It was so great to meet Cindy today at her beautiful store! We were on our way to Cape Cod and her stores are near there. We bought a bunch of candles and I would have loved to visit longer but my son was anxious to get to the Cape. Cindy had a great idea. We should all try to get together sometime. Cindy said it would be great to take a cruise together to Celebrate our weight loss but any kind of get together would be amazing. Or we could cruise to Australia and pick up Sades! If only... Anyway, getting to meet our resident cheerleader was a lot of fun! Cindy is a doll and as sweet in person as she is online! Hey Sades, what are you doing back to work already? I'm so glad that you are feeling OK but you need some rest! You're doing great and I'm so happy for you that your weight is finally going down.

November Nymphs Summer Meltdown Challenge

Thanks Judy, I know I should be happy with 50 pounds but it feels like its dragging. I barely exercise because I had neck surgery last year. I had 2 discs repaired because of a car accident. I was hit from behind really hard in Sept. '03. I haven't been active since that day and really started to put the weight on. Even walking a lot hurts my neck and shoulders. I have an elleptical that I use a bit. I think I may look into Water aerobics like Cindy and Sades does as it is low impact. I have to find a place around here that offers it. I'm anxious to get into the 100's and out of the 2's. I think a small fill will get me over the border. If it's too tight, I could always get an unfill. I have noticed in the past 2 weeks that I can eat a lot more than usual. -
November Nymphs Summer Meltdown Challenge

You're right, Judy. I always lose a good amount right after a fill. On my last 2 monthly visits with the nurse at my doc's office, we decided not to fill because I get stuck too easily. Some episodes were truly horrible and painful. But I only lost 4 pounds last month and nothing for 2 weeks. I'm noticing that I can easily eat a full portion of food and then some before feeling full. That tells me its time. I just really need to focus on taking tiny bites and chewing a lot. Never been a strength of mine. -
Shout out to Cindy!! Are you going to be at your Middleboro store tomorrow (Friday)? We may stop by on our way to the Cape.

Hey Sades, you're doing amazing!! Hope you're feeling better as you watch the scale go down!

I'm looking forward to it!!

That's it. I'm getting a fill! I can eat way too much lately before feeling full. I hate getting fills and going through the liquids and mush foods until food goes through without getting stuck. It takes me a month before I feel almost normal. But if you guys could face another surgery with such class and determination, I should be able to deal with a small fill without whining! -
Judy, glad the doc was easier to talk to. I still don't understand how it could just become unlocked. I wonder how often this happens with the new band. Anyway, does he just have to lock it or is he replacing it? Could it unlock again? It will be over before you know it and you will be kicking our butts in the fall challenge!

Wendy, you're doing great! I'm eating too much lately. I may need a small fill after all. My next appt is in 2 weeks. I'll get it then if the scale doesn't move. -
OMG, you have to see the aging hippies at these concerts - tie dye shirts, long gray hair, even the aroma of weed in the air! And it wasn't the teens doing the smoking! They crack me up! Then there's the middle age 80's crowd where we fit in having the best time. Some brought their kids with them. We didn't. My teen girl would be mortified to see us dancing and rocking to our music!
-
No, the lump doesn't move. I just played with it to check! Does yours move?
-
Sades, I have a lump there too and its the port itself. Maybe yours is just closer to the surface. When do you see the surgeon again? Ask him to be sure. I once went to a punk party when I was 17. We all had to dress up in punk outfits and only listened to punk music. We had a "costume contest" and I won! A year before that, I had streaks, not highlights, put in my hair when they first became popular. I must have been the hairdresser's first client cause he put uneven streaks throughput my hair that came out this weird shade of green. My mom flipped and made them dye them out! Then it just looked like weird highlights. The green was kinda cool! Our parents had nothing to worry about. Now our teens are getting every body part pierced and want tattoos. A little green, blue, or pink hair was nothing!!

Sades, you're melting!!! I'm not going to post my weight cause it's still the same. Gotta get more sleep and get my focus back. I really need to get to Onederland but am dragging my heels getting there. -
Cindy, you were a punk rocker!?! :tt1::tongue_smilie: That's great!! So we may hit your Middleboro shop on Friday on our way up to the Cape. We're coming from NY and staying in Hyannis. Your Kingston shop may be too far away from where we're staying. If we had more time, we would love to go to both. I'm coming with my 12 yr old son and my childhood best friend's mom. She's been like a 2nd mom to me since I was 6. After I lost my parents, she just stepped in as a surrogate mom and grandma. Great lady. She looked at your website and loved your products. The Middleboro shop must look amazing at Christmas time. Will you be there on Friday? If so, what hours? It's not definite yet but we mapped it out to see if its on the way. This could work out. Hey Sades, how are you feeling? Port pain getting better?
-
Hi Judy, It is infuriating when surgeons act like surgery is just another day at the office. Of course this is a big deal for you. This should not have happened. Perhaps you only need 1 or 2 insicions over the existing ones. He doesn't need to place a port or remove the band, right? Is he just going to lock the one already in there? Maybe that makes it easier than the original surgey and thats why he's acting like its nothing. Still a big issue for you and he should know that.

Oh please, I know that my friends and family talked about my weight gain behind my back. I used to be much thinner and gained some of the weight rapidly. I gained 50 pounds in 1 year during the year between losing my mom and then my dad 13 months later. That was 2 years ago. It was the most stressful and sad time of my life and I ate whatever was easiest to grab. I don't even remember eating that much. But I know that the family was buzzing about me. So-called friends too. When I confronted some of them, they didn't deny it. They said, "But its because we're so worried about you and want you to take care of yourself and be healthy!". Yeah, right. I know it was idle gossip. Nothing we can do about it but show them up by getting thin. Wish they would all stop asking me how much I lost. Some even ask me why I'm losing so slowly. I really don't find that supportive. I did lose 50 pounds after all.

Cindy, Don't worry about a little ice cream. We still gotta live a little! As long as you get back on track, it will only be a little blip on the radar screen. I'm not surprised that your suit got too big already. You're melting faster than that ice cream you ate! By the way, I'm going to Cape Cod on Friday through Monday. Is your shop anywhere near the Cape? Hi Sades, The concert was a blast! Hubby and I haven't been to a rock concert in 13 years and now we went to 2 in 2 weeks. We saw Chicago with the Doobie Brothers 2 weeks ago. Do you know about the famous Woodstock festival that took place in Bethel, NY in 1969? Well this guy bought the land it was on and turned it into a music center with an outdoor concert pavilion, museum, snack stands, gift shops, etc. It's brand new and beautiful. Up in the country and a great place to go for a summer concert. Its only 1 hour north of us. They have bands from our era, our parents era, and for the teens. There's a concert every weekend. We are seeing Journey with Heart and Cheap Trick at the end of August. Haven't been to this many concerts since my teen years. Its really fun to see so many middle age folks and older rocking out to the music! Great way to keep young. The band members are aging too but they still sound great. It was pouring as we walked back to the car. Just like people did at the original Woodstock festival, we got wet and muddy. We had a great time! How are you feeling today? You'll be back to your old self in no time except smaller!
-
Hi Sades, How's your back and side today? I'm going to a concert tonight with hubby to see the Steve Miller Band and Joe Cocker. Classic rock legends. Don't know if they'll sound as good as they did 20 years ago but it should be a fun night out. I'll check in with you later.
-
CONGRATS BANDPAL!!! :tt1: OK, time for me to join you and Wendy as new Onederlanders. I had a bad couple of weeks but I am ready to get back on track. See you over the border real soon!

Guess what? I didn't have any port pain! Just gas pain. So weird. I stayed up so many nights doing schoolwork this past year that even when I don't have any, I can't get to sleep at a decent hour. My biological clock is all screwed up. I'll fall asleep at about 5am and the kids wake me around 10. I'm so used to functioning on 5-6 hours sleep. I would probably lose faster if I got more sleep. I need to work on that. But after a busy day taking care of everyone else, I love the quiet of the night. I do my best studying and papers late at night and that's when I can sit uninterrrupted at my computer. It is a bad habit that I need to break. When the kids have school, its hard for me to get to bed earlier. I have to be up at 6am with them so I have to get to bed by 1am. That's actually hard for me.

Sades, you're not a newbie. It really wouldn't make sense to join a July '08 group. You've had many fills and been through all of the stages with this group. Besides, we would all have to chase you down and drag you back here! I'm glad for you that you're not having much pain. I wouldn't wish what I went through post-op on anyone! It was horrible. I wanted to rip my band out! I lost around 8 pounds that first week and didn't even care. At the time, it didn't feel worth it. Of course, I feel differently now but those first 10 days were hell!
