All I need is to have my root canal completed, so I guess I should be alright.

Giddyupgrandma, have you had any dental work done, while taking coumadin, because I really need to have my root canal completely.

BabyCat replied to Alfie's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I was banded Oct. 14,2007, I currently have 6cc in my band and I am a little too tight. Since being banded I loss a total of 53 pounds. Right now food feels like the enemy. I have to make myself eat, but after a couple bites, I'm full. -
Good job, thats great you loss 48 pounds. You should be proud of yourself. keep it up.

When I first got banded on Nov.14,2007 I weighed 253lbs, two weeks ago I weighed in at 205lbs. This week I weighed 213lbs, I'm considering taking phentermine. Is there anyone else out there that had taken diet pills with the band? Please respond because I am seriously thinking about taking these pills.
-
Thank everyone for their response. I hope this post can help others who are going through the same thing.

I'm just very sad that I gained some weight. I work really hard, I jog two to three miles aday and walk one mile. For me to gain back eight pounds is hurtful. I don't understand what is going on, it's not like I eat much.
-
Just tell them once you reach your goal you will keep it at the same amount of cc that helped you reach your goal weight and if you start to gain you will get a fill. No complete unfill, no removal.

Do to my band being too tight I was completely unfilled on April 25, 2008 to prevent slippage. Is there anyone else who had to have there band completely unfilled and how long did it take before you was able to get a fill.
-
I got some restriction with my second fill, third fill was good. Fourth fill was too tight had to be completely unfilled. Fifth fill back to 5cc. 1st- 2cc 2nd-2cc 3rd-1cc 4th-1cc completely unfilled 5th-5cc
-
My doctor put 5cc back in my band today. It will be awhile before I go to 6cc again.
-
Since I was only thight for four days and my band did not slip, I should not have to wait that long, do you think?
-
Luvinke. I'm doing fine I'm still running two to three miles a day, but still taking it slow. Keep me posted on your weight loss.

Do you really have to give up caffeine completely?
BabyCat replied to gingin's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am five months out and I use to drink diet soda and coffee everyday. After my surgery, I only had four cups of coffee and I can honestly say that I don't miss soda or coffee. Generic crystal light and water has become my best friend. -
AThinnerDenise, I agree with you. I'm glad that all I had to get do was my band unfilled and be on a liquid diet, it could have been worse.
-
Luvinke, I'm glad your feeling better, just take your time. I had restriction at 5cc, I should have stayed at 5 for at least two more months, but sometimes you learn the hard way and it only makes you stronger. I'm happy your feeling restriction, take small bites and chew, chew and chew.

I was just released from the hospital, after being admitted yesterday for dehydration. As I wrote a couple odf days ago, I explained that I had 1cc put in on 4/21/08 bring me to 6cc, on 4/22/08 I had .5cc taken out and my band was still to tight, wanting to lose weight fast I said I had deal with it. On 4/24/08 I had to go to the emergency room, because I could not tolerate liquids or food. As a result I started feeling light headed, dizzy and weak. After checking my urine and blood work, I was advised that I was dehydrated and would be admitted. I was hooked up to an I.V and a x-ray was done of my band to see if it had slipped. No the band did not slip, but my stomach was swollen due to the band being to tight. To prevent the band from slipping and allow my stomach to heal, I had to have all the fluid taken out of band. I have to wait until 5/22/08 to have fluid placed back in the band. I'm just trying to let everyone know that having your band to tight can hurt you in the long run. We all want to lose weight, but we must be patient and smart about it. Now I'm back to the beginning of band hood. Clear liquid diet for two weeks. I'm scared about gaining my weight back. Before I was released from the hospital I weighed an at 209lbs. On 4/21/08 I weighed 223lbs and on 4/22/08 I weighed 215lbs.

I had my fourth fill yesterday for a total of 6cc, I had to go back today and have .5cc removed, because I could not swallow my spit without it coming back up. That was a miserable feeling that I never want to feel again. It was so bad that I weighed at 215.5 lbs, yesterday i weighed in at 222.7 lbs. That lets you know that I could not hold nothing down and it made me feel weak. So weak that I could only run one mile this morning, when I'm use to running two to three miles a day. We all want to lose weight, but starvation is not the way. If I could keep fluids down, then I would have not got an unfill, but I couldn't even sleep, because I slimming all night.

Michee, you usually have bowel movements, after you have eaten meat, mainly red meats and of course meats have protien. Then throw in some type of fiber with that protien and that says volcano (diarrhea).
-
If you are taken in alot of protien, sometimes that can cause you to have diarrhea.

I'm now five months in, and I only lost 30lbs. I need to lose 60lbs to be at my goal weight of a 160lbs. I don't understand why I'm not losing a pound or two a week. I eat right, jog three miles a day, walk one mile, do ten minutes of chruches and twenty minutes of light weight lifting. I do see my clothes getting bigger, but the scale is not moving. Just don't understand. My surgeon said that some people do nothing and lose lots of weight, while some workout and lose weight slowly.:huh2::thumbdown:

Stress will do alot to your body. Just take it easy and keep the faith. I hope I can loss weight like you. So far I only lost about 30lbs and I am five months in. I need to lose about 55lbs to be at my goal weight.

Ponytail, I agree with you.
