  1. Bubba's Mom

    daughters concerns

Thank you. I told her I thought it over, which I did, and decided to stay with my original plan. Surgery next month!
  2. My Dr. leaves the drain in, and then comes to the hospital the next day to remove it. Not sure about the compression stockings though. But since I'm flying home they will probably be helpful.

Need advice from WLS mums for my mum

I am having the same conversation with my daughter. I have given her facts, showed her the reports and let her read the testaments. I don't know how to help you......
  4. Told my daughter today about surgery next month. She is very unhappy, concerned, probably scared. She is the only family member that is against it. She does not live near me and so we are doing this over the phone. She adamantly believes that I can try one more time and that if I put the same work into one more try at weight loss that I am willing to put into the follow up after the surgery that I will succeed. It is hard to argue with that logic. I feel ready for this and I know she just found out and needs time to process it, but I really do not know how respond to her. I promised her I would consider her point of view. What do you all think...
  5. It hit me hard when I saw I had 4 weeks to go on my ticker.
  6. Dec 11 in TJ. Still excited.....nervous too though. Does anyone know if this thread is the way to have a December group or is there another place for it?
  7. Bubba's Mom

    anyone getting sleeved in DECEMBER?

December 13 for me. 12/13/14 he he Dr. Elias Ortiz at Mi Doctor hospital.
  8. Many people have mentioned, including my surgery coordinator, to bring gauze, medical tape and Neosporin. For some reason we have problems with the medical tape they use in Mexico.

  10. I hear you! Of all the changes that will be coming in my near future, the loss of my Dt. Pepsi will be the hardest to take! Good luck to both of us!
  11. Ok, this is not normally something we talk about, BUT I am set for GSV on December 13, 2014 with Dr. Ortiz in Tijuana. On my pre-op instructions we are required to take a laxative for the 3 days prior to the surgery. Since most of us are traveling one way or another to get to Mexico, how are you handling that? I am lucky enough to be DRIVING the trip which will be over 1000 miles and take 2 days.
