Green Tea Tastes Like Feet
borg/assimilated replied to Miss Mac's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Well I am in the green tea tastes like steeped hay camp. I will have to try some of the recommendations above. Thanks for all the ideas ladies! We had a foreign exchange student from China living with us when my children were in high school. His mother came over to visit, saw I was a "chubby" person and told me I needed to drink green tea. Tried it, hated it as it tasted like warm grass. I hate jicama too! -

HealthEast vs. Park Nicollet
borg/assimilated replied to allenjf's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I went through HealthEast. I thought their program was thorough and very well organized. All of the staff are friendly, courteous and helpful. The Psychiarist I saw affiliated with their program was actually rather humorous, made my psych eval fun. It is also a Center of Excellence. My surgeon came highly recommended by my primary Dr., she used him for a delicate thyroid surgery. My hospital stay was great, I was well tended by staff. The rooms are beautiful, private, private bath. Husband was well informed during surgery. I had no painful gas following surgery, no complications, minimal pain. I did have pretty significant nausea which I expected as I am always nauseous after general anesthesia, the Anesthetist tried to mitigate that the best he could but I still was nauseous. As you can tell I was very satisfied with my experience at HealthEast. After reading about her experience above @@Djmohr had a good experience at Park Nicollet too. Two great choices! -
Mmmmm, must try this. We will have a high of -7 F here in MN tomorrow. Hate it!

I have never watched this program simply because I cannot understand how these "contestants" can abase themselves in this way.

763 day streak.....I guess that is enough
borg/assimilated replied to Recycled's topic in Fitness & Exercise
Well done! I am "only" 11 months post op, but I track about two weeks out of every month now. My eating habits and exercise have become so routine that I pretty much input the same things from day to day. Thanks for the info regarding the diligence necessary in maintenance. -
@@Ladybrinkman Good luck and speedy recovery. Most of us that were on this post will be almost one year post op. Speaking for myself it went well and I am pleased with my progress. As most of us on here say- best thing I've ever done for myself!

international travel post op
borg/assimilated posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am hoping for surgery end of December (if I manage to jump through all the hoops by then). Have tentatively planned travel to Taiwan for Chinese New Year (2/19) to visit my son in grad school there. Nurse said no international travel for 3 months post op. Should I chance it or plan on surgery in March? I really hate to wait until March now that I have the process started, not to mention if the surgery date is in 2015 I will have to pay my high deductible for 2014 and 2015 ($4000.00/per year). Any thoughts? -
I will also pray and ask God to bless each of you.

Disappointed with Bariatric Pal store
borg/assimilated replied to lsmith715's topic in Rants & Raves
Just (hopefully) cancelled my order via email. I can wait no longer for my calcium chewy bites as I've been out for over a week and the order I placed with Bariatric Pal store was placed 11/30. Too long to wait even with a discount. -

New Study: Vitamin D Levels Linked to Weight-loss Surgery Outcomes
borg/assimilated replied to butterfly23's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Thanks for sharing the link to that interesting article. Living in MN, I've had low vit.D levels for years. I'm happy my bariatrician increased my dose prior to surgery since WLS was in February. -
Well you may not get there by the date you want, but rest assured you will get there. Onederland certainly is a magic milestone for most of us . Merry Christmas to you too!

Two years ago today.....
borg/assimilated replied to Kindle's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
@@Kindle, How did I miss this post earlier this month? Thank you for the update on your progress. I always enjoy your posts. I am sorry for your losses in your brother and best friend. Perhaps the pain will lessen in time? But kudos on your NSV in not turning to alcohol and food to deal with the pain. I hope 2016 will be a good year for you. -

My cat is 15 years old now and leaves the tree alone aside from lapping up the water in the tree stand. We always get ours the weekend after Thanksgiving. I really enjoy the decorated and lit tree.

Some broths are high in sodium, which may exacerbate your premenstrual weight gain. This is temporary, follow the advice of@@BLERDgirl and you will start to lose again.
