Do You Really Need Vitamin D?
borg/assimilated replied to Elizabeth Anderson RD's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Magazine
Maybe it is age related, but my Vit. D level has been low for years. When my Dr. told me the first time that my level was low I was astonished because I taught Environmental Ed. and was outside at least five days a week, and only used sunscreen on my face. So maybe as we age we are not able to manufacture enough D in our skin from exposure to the sun. -

borg/assimilated replied to getnfit52's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hey getnfit52 I am in MN, but not Rochester area. I will be having my surgery in St. Paul. Hope you find some fellow sleevers from your area, if not- at least we are from the same state. -

Will I still enjoy cooking for my family post surgery?
borg/assimilated replied to Engteacher's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Engteacher, I am a little concerned about this too as I am the planner, shopper and preparer of all our meals in our household. My family has always enjoyed the things I cook, bake. I have cut back some already since we are now empty nesters, but my husband has a healthy appetite and loves my cooking. He will be be in for a shock! His idea of cooking is to open up a can and heat the contents up in the microwave. -
What does 5:2 program mean
borg/assimilated replied to jwantlan's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Could it be Dr. Moser's plan of limiting calories to 500 for two days of the week and normal amount of calories the other five days? -
Half way there.....what keeps you motivated?
borg/assimilated replied to tomi71's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Just like haleytrim's above comment, I find this forum very motivational. I am still very pre-op so I appreciate all the information I can glean from you veterans. -

borg/assimilated replied to Bkooltome's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Betty, I am 62 and hoping to have surgery in the next few months. In the process of jumping through the hoops right now. I would also like to hear about the sleeve journeys of those over 50. It is finally time for me! -

DVT found in Pre-Op testing
borg/assimilated replied to Simply Annie's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh that is so disappointing! Well.....I guess if you have to wait 6 months more it will be in your best interest. I am sorry for your clot and the prolonged wait for surgery. Hopefully your wait for surgery will pass quickly and you won't get too discouraged. -

Thank you for your responses. Very different thoughts. I am still unsure about the travel but will give myself a few weeks to decide before I purchase the tickets.
