Depression kicked my A** this winter!

Sorry to hear of your depression, RJ,s/beginning. I don't want to make this simplistic but winter for those of us that live in the north can be very depressing. I do not suffer from clinical depression (not yet anyway) however, I find winter to be very challenging. I hope your new med.'s and a change of season will bring you some relief.

    I BINGED

Hmmmm. ...being 7 weeks out I can't imagine eating that much, however, you've opened my eyes to that possibility and how important it will be to remain vigilant in later months. Thanks for the post.
  20. How did I miss this thread? I had my sleeve surgery 2/3/2015. I am 62 and down 30 pounds- 10 on the 2 week pre-op diet. I feel great and am very happy with my results so far. I sometimes wish the weight would come off faster, but it is dropping. I had a pretty uncomplicated recovery except for nausea which I seem to always get from anesthesia. So happy I did this and I guess this was the right time, since I have contemplated it for a few years. Hooray for all the intrepid 60+ WLS people!

    Need some sleeve love!????

We all recover differently. What we do have in common ( unless something unusual happens) is that every day there is some improvement. Soon you will start feeling better and if you need something for your discomfort take it.

February Sleevers - how are you doing?

Surgery 2/3/2015. Initial weight- 241, post-op diet weight (day of surgery)- 230, current weight- 211. My only post surgical issue was nausea which I knew I would have since I always have nausea following general anesthesia. No pain meds. or Tylenol needed after I came home. In fact felt pretty much 100% 5 days after surgery. I did have a stall two weeks after surgery which lasted about two weeks, but seem to be losing consistently since then about 2-3 pounds every week to week and a half. So I think I am sort of on the slower side. I probably get about about 600-800 calories a day, seem to be making my Protein requirements with the help of Protein shakes (2/day). Just recently have been able to just meet the liquid requirement per day. My dietician said I could count the protein shakes as liquid too. I find it much easier to find things I am interested in eating now that I am on soft foods stage- soon moving to regular food, however, no nuts, seeds, peels, stringy fruits/vegetables until May 3rd. Many of my clothes are becoming loose to the point of looking silly, but haven't had any pants fall down yet. Started wearing clothes I had packed away two to three years ago. I am walking one to two hours six days per week, well over 10,000 steps per day. Doing Tai Chi once a week. I feel great, so happy I did this! Aren't you?
  24. I did want to have a couple of my favorite Chinese dishes from our local restaurant, but my insurance approval came through so quickly that my surgery date was moved up by a month. The day the surgeon's office called to let me know, I had to start my two week pre-op diet. Oh well. I can try them in another month, probably have it for 4 or 5 meals!

@@nikkimarie_1991 Oh so true!! I keep checking for spills on my chest and I just don't have them anymore- used to be just about every meal.
