How long do you need to wait to eat almonds or peanuts?
borg/assimilated replied to caligurl909's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I also had to wait 3 months before eating nuts, seeds, skins, membranes. -
How did it feel?
borg/assimilated replied to dismond1209's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My first thought was to thank God that I had survived and simultaneously relief that the surgery was over. My next thought was about how nauseated I was, which I expected since that is how I react to general anesthesia, but assumed they would manage it better. They soon had that under control though. -
I have read on this forum of many people that had their Hiatal hernia repaired at the same time as their sleeve surgery. I don't think the Hiatal hernia precludes the VSG surgery.

Did you truly eat six pieces of chicken? How is that even possible? I couldn't eat that much and I am 3 1/2 months post op, I'm not sure people even farther out from surgery could consume that much. As Kindle said you need to be very careful this close to surgery that you don't injure your staple line, the complications from that would be terrible.

10 Days Post - Doctor says I'm exceeding expectations!
borg/assimilated replied to Maierland's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Well, for a "ramble"(your words) that was quite positive. You are doing well. -
6 months post op, how lost?
borg/assimilated replied to nprcowboy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@@nprcowboy Wow, good to hear from you and you sound so positive after all your complications! I really feared for your life for a while. You have done well! I am three and a half months out and just hit wonderland yesterday. That seems like a milestone. I think losinghope15 could use some of your wisdom from all of your post-op experiences. -
What do you do
borg/assimilated replied to eyhornmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ditto walking, praying, venting with a sympathetic friend. -

borg/assimilated replied to Jessica Radcliff's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Tonight or wait until tomorrow? It's probably close enough to try it. -
You have done well, congratulations!

Anyone NOT have gas pains?
borg/assimilated replied to tnkrrbl's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Not a single one. Ditto Miss Mac re: what surgeon said about removing as much gas as possible before closing. -
I was complaining about slow weight loss to my surgeon at my three month check up and he said it may take me a year to lose the amount I want to. He said that the more you have to lose( i.e. higher BMI) the faster you lose initially, the lower your BMI you might lose a little more slowly. Don't get discouraged, if you follow your program you will lose.

Omg I'm dying...not really but...
borg/assimilated replied to Jnizzi's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
pureed foods was the hardest phase for me. You may have to be a little cautious trying new things. Maybe just a couple bites until you know your stomach can handle it. I eventually went back to full liquid plus some Soups, my stomach was just too unhappy. It does get better and a lot more quickly than you would think. -
February 3rd Sleevers
borg/assimilated replied to GEAUX SAINTS's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have lost 40 pounds, 30 post-op. I feel great, have a lot of energy and am really happy. Just cleared by dietician for fruits, nuts, seeds, skins etc., now I have no restrictions ( other than protein first) - had a strawberry today, so good! -
How many Flintstone vitamins?
borg/assimilated replied to Beautiful Mess's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I am on 2 Flintstones a day, and since I actually like them ( a kid at heart?) I asked if I could be on them forever and my dietician said that would be fine. -
Don't like to grocery shop any more...
borg/assimilated replied to djay210's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I hate grocery shopping now as well. Food is not the draw it once was, and as those above mentioned , I find everything I need around the perimeter too. On the other hand it doesn't take me nearly as long to shop! -
Thank God for my Sleeve!
borg/assimilated replied to Casey235's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Amen, sister. -
Discouraged, not losing!
borg/assimilated replied to for_me's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Last month I only lost 6.6 pounds. I just saw my dietician today for my three month check-up and she was not unhappy about that paltry amount at all. I, of course, was feeling slightly depressed about it. I think you will find our bodies all seem to lose at their own rate and you just need to have faith that if you are following the program you will lose it eventually. Lipstick lady is correct in that we all wish the weight would come off quickly, it's not a miracle cure and we just need to be patient with ourselves. -
Excited for change!
borg/assimilated replied to ThruChristICan's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Good luck on your journey- your WLS date will be here before you know it. Those 29 pounds are just the start. These months before seem to drag by, and then suddenly your surgery date is here. -
It looks perfect on you! What a very happy NSV, great work!

A two and a half month plateau must be very discouraging. Good for you for being persistent with your plan, as they say, persistence pays. Congratulations!
