    Taking off my fat suit

Good to hear that your surgery went well and recovery is going smoothly. Don't feel nervous about your uncomplicated recovery, many of us had no issues after surgery. Good luck going through the post op. food stages, some can be rather challenging. You are doing well!

Am I being a dishonest Christian?

I have only told two people about my WLS, my husband and my best friend. I have not felt compelled to tell anyone else. When asked about my weight loss, I tell them the things listed above re:diet, exercise etc. I sometimes feel guilty not telling other obese acquaintances because I think they could use this tool too. Then I think, well, I didn't know anyone personally that had WLS and I researched it on my own. We all have different levels of comfort in sharing personal information. I don't think God expects us to share everything about ourselves with everyone. You will have to do what is comfortable for you, and God loves you either way, whether you share or not.
  3. You have done well! Waiting is the hardest part, I hope you hear soon.

    What if?

I'd like to be with you but I'm just not there yet. I do find I am less self conscious as the weight goes down, only 4 months post so maybe when I am a little farther along?

@@CanyonBaby Such wisdom! Thanks for the reminder not to borrow tomorrow's troubles/ worries. Still praying here.
  8. I weigh myself every morning. I think I like to torture myself, as I am turning out to be a slow loser. I only lost 6.6 lbs. last month and so far this month 4.2 lbs ( can I please lose at least one more by Monday?). I will be 4 mos. post op on 6/3.

    My naked kitty! Pics inside!

Hmmmm. I wasn't sure what a naked kitty was. Now that I've seen one I'll have to admit they are fascinatingly ugly, and yes, I am a girl. @@LipstickLady, ever the provocateur!

    Chinese food you eat

I bought a quart of take out sesame chicken. So good! I had 5 meals and a snack from it! I think I like it too much- it could turn into something dangerous for me.

    No fluids with food

I was advised 15-30 min. before eating and 30 min. after. The 15 min. before is pretty easy to follow for me, so if I need a drink and I need to eat the drink goes first, then I only have to wait 15 min. to eat.

    The Waiting Game

I went to an information meeting in September and had surgery in February. One of my first appointments in the hoop jumping phase was the dietician. She had me eliminate all carbonated beverages, caffeine, eating on smaller plates, no eating while watching television, waiting between bites( put your fork down) etc., etc, etc. It really prepared me for life after surgery. So think of this time as a training period. It actually goes by quickly.
