    Uncertain futures

I am praying daily for you and your husband as well, and always read your updates. You are a strong woman.

    What I have gained...

You have done well! I really relish being able to cross my legs, I find I do it often just because it feels good and I can!

    Sleeve vs gastric bypass

Most of us on this forum researched the various WLS options ad nauseam. When my surgeon realized I had done my homework he asked which surgery I was thinking about, he didn't disagree with my opinion. Do your research, discuss it with your surgeon and you will end up with the WLS that is best for you.
  4. @chrisredjeep@dena1258, You will both do well with your upcoming surgeries. I wish you both a speedy, uncomplicated recovery.

How do I hoist these girls up!?

I echo MrsSugarbabe on Lane Bryant's Cacique bras. I hate underwires so I get the full coverage ones without the underwire. Their prices aren't too bad, have quite a few color choices, they also have the three level closure hooks, are comfortable and often go on sale.

Goal! Like they say in soccer

Congratulations on reaching your goal. You have done well and look fit!

    Stay away from the scale!

I also weigh myself daily. I always have even pre-WLS. Unfortunately, I only lose about 1-1 1/2 pound(s) every 5 days or so, it can be discouraging. Since I am following my dietician's program I guess that my path will be the slow loser's road. At least I am losing.

Today is my one year anniversary.

Great work, you have done well!
  9. I have so much more energy now at 4 months post-op. You will definitely enjoy sports/playing with your children again soon. Good luck on your upcoming surgery and a speedy, uncomplicated recovery.

    Big Daddy Burger!

I still enjoy a good burger, only now I can only eat 1/4-1/2 of one without the bun. I won't lecture people about what to eat, not eat, in this day and age we all know what's not good for us. I knew what I shouldn't eat when I was fat.

    Washing after surgery

I had a shower at the hospital the day after surgery, so yes you will be able to shower.
  13. Wow, he really is obtuse. Unfortunately some people ( men in general?) are. If he is as boring as you say he is he probably doesn't have very good social skills. Sorry that your first reaction was to feel badly, but who wouldn't? You know you are pretty wonderful, right?

    I Just Want To Cry

Sounds like a few bad days. Time to move on, you've done well and will again.

    The dumbest diet you tried?

I too have tried many but have to say the absolutely most impalatable one was the cleanse diet of lemon juice/maple syrup/ cayenne pepper. How I hated it. It was recommended you stay on it for 14 days. Somehow I forced that mess down for 14 days, lost 7 pounds, and of course regained as soon as I started eating again. Just the thought of it makes me nauseated.

    Hair loss?

I was so hoping to be one of the lucky ones without hair loss but It started about 3 mos. post op and has been falling out for a month now. The only thing saving me from complete embarrassment is that it is summer and the humidity gives my hair body and waves. Please be finished falling out by the end of summer!

    Popcorn

I had popcorn about two weeks ago for the first time post surgery. I asked the dietician at my 3 month post op visit if I could have popcorn- she approved it. My husband and I "shared" a small size at the movie theater, I think I ate about a cup. It was delicious and I tolerated it just fine. Here's to happy popcorn eating (occasionally)!

    I felt Hungry!

When I think I am feeling hunger the first thing I do is drink. I am supposed to wait 15-30 minutes after drinking before eating so that gives me time to figure it out. Most of the time drinking something makes that hunger feeling pass.
