300 pounds later....am I living a dream or is this in fact reality?
Pat-rice replied to Jim1967's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Thanks for sharing your story with us Jim. What an inspiration you are. I am in bandster hell right now patiently awaiting my first fill on December 2. I wish you continued success!!! -
Share Your NSVs Here Please!
Pat-rice replied to DELETE THIS ACCOUNT!'s topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Just had a NSV today. Only 4 weeks post op. Went to Dress Barn and automatically went to the plus side of the store. The sales lady came over to me and said that I am on the wrong side of the store, the misses sizes are on the other side of the store. I just about cried. I had never even thought to try on misses sizes. It's been 25 years, at least, since I've been able to wear a misses size. On cloud 9 today -
How long can you wear your pants?
Pat-rice replied to jnevr480's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
How wonderful for you. So glad they didn't fall off of you???? I had a HUGE non scale victory. I was at Dress Barn and I naturally went into the plus size. The sales lady came over and told me I was on the wrong side of the store, that the misses sizes were on the other side. I almost started to cry. I was flabbergasted to say the least. I guess we don't always see the changes that everyone else sees -
Congrats!! What an accomplishment. I am sitting at 200 right now and waiting for the day I finally make it to onederland. You are a true inspiration.

I was banded last month and I felt great. I was one of the lucky ones. No nausea at all. I understand how you feel about the saiety. But I think once you get further into the full liquids diet you will start to feel fuller quick. Hang in there and feel blessed that you are doing so well. My first full is coming up at the beginning of December and I can hardly wait. Hope everything continues to go so well for you

I was also told to crush all my meds after my lap band surgery. Does anybody have any suggestions as to how long I should crush them for? They taste horrible even with the applesauce I put them in

No weight lost. Is this normal?
Pat-rice replied to Queenz_Cece's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm in the same boat. So glad you posted this since I have yet to figure out how to post myself lol. Started puréed/my shoes and haven't lost a pound all week. Glad to hear that is normal. I even started keeping a food journal just to make sure I wasn't going over what I should be eating but I've discovered that maybe I haven't been eating enough -
What an exciting time for you. I am 2 weeks post op and I struggled with the same feelings you are having. Just know that your support team is there for you and will help you through everything after the surgery. You have made your decision with a level head. You are just getting nervous at the last hour. I was also worried about not being able to do this so I didn't tell very many people about my surgery. That way if I didn't succeed I wouldn't feel like such a failure. Now I have people noticing my weight loss and asking what I'm doing lol. Hang in there, you got this!!

If you are looking for a meal replacement shake Lean Shake 25 from GNC (premise) is really good. For just a supplement I like the Matrix Nectar sweets Fuzzy Naval. I mix it with 6 oz water and it actually tastes just like a fuzzy naval. 23 grams protein and 100 calories. The Vanilla Bean Torte is great mixed with hot water (130 degrees) and a spoon of instant decaf coffee. 100 calories and 23 grams of protein. Tastes like a coffee house specialty drink. I ordered some sf pumpkin pie flavored syrup to add to it Yummy!!

Banded 2 weeks ago and ended up with a stiff neck. Doc said that and shoulder pain was normal due to the gas they use. Travels up inside your body.

Pat-rice replied to cjenkins74's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
My doc had me drink 3 meal replacement shakes a day. 1 frozen lean (diet) entree a day. One small piece of fruit or 1/2 c no sugar added canned fruit. 1 lite yogurt. One cup of veggies (not corn or potatoes)
