  1. I also liked to good out and have fun (party) when I was 21. That time of my life was fantastic and it's when I made the friends I still have at 40, so I understand. But when i was partying i didnt drink much. Not because i didnt want to, but because i had allergies that didnt allow me to drink many types of alcohol. So, i always ordered a drink, sipped it, and waited 15 minutes before taking another drink to make sure i didnt have a reaction. I still danced, laughed, flirted, and had a fantastic time. My friends knew about my allergies and never evwn brought up the dact that i would only have one or two drinks the entire night. You can still have your fun without drinking non stop. Going out with friends should be about enjoying the time with your friends, and that is not going to change.

Except for the gas I'm feeling really good, but taking an hour to consume 4 oz is driving me crazy.

I have that same itchy stripe under one boob. I freak out for a second and had my husband take a look at it. My mouth isn't really dry but I constantly have an awful taste. I started with protein this morning. I'll have some yogurt in another 45 minutes. Sipping is a full time job. No wonder I had to take 3 weeks off work.

Not today but they did itch yesterday. The "glue", or whatever it's called, is starting to peel off of one. The sites actually feel pretty good, except one that has a bruise all around it. My friend said that the site hurt bad for about 4 days and then it subsides. How are your feeling?

    The post-op stuggle 1 week

Never thought of mixing with protein powder. That's a great idea. I do plain greek yogurt with lemon crystal light, but your way make sure to get extra protein in. Great tip!

    Low grade fever okay post-op?

I was sleeved on Wednesday too, and had a low fever yesterday. Today I'm fine, except for the air that I can feel moving around in my body. Damn, that is painful.

    Surgery day

Thanks for the well wishes everyone. Surgery went well. I've been walking around a total of 20 minutes throughout the day and I try one more short walk in a while. Not too much pain in the abdomen, but alot of discomfort from gas.

    One week away!

My surgery is one week away... June 3rd. I'm at a loss for words. I'm excited but scared. Happy but anxious. Confident but worried. It took so long, but it's come so quick. I think I might be going nuts :-) . Don't get me wrong, I know this is a good thing, and exactly what I need, but it's kinda surreal... know what i mean?

    Kaiser So-cal

@@soontobeskinny how is your process going? You met with Dr. Turner this week right? My surgery is less than a week away. I made a mistake in an earlier comment. My surgery is scheduled for June 3rd not the 6th. Only 5 days to go!

    One week away!

I'm in Southern California, near LA. That's the good thing about modern technology, it makes it possible for people so far from each other to communicate easily.

    One week away!

That's a great idea! I'll have to pull up some old albums. Not just the ones of myself overqwight, but the ones from before I gained all my weight. It'll be a before, after, before, and finally set of pics. Thanks for the tip!

    Date

I'm feeling the same way. When I first started the journey I was like this is gonna take forever. Now I second guess myself and ask if this is really what I wanna do. I know it's nerves. I talk to my bestie today and she calmed me and set me straight. She reminded me that I've lost 30 lbs before, the problem I s that that is precisely where I get stuck! Then I get frustrated and end up creeping back up. This is what I need and I know it.
  23. To me it sounds like you took a trip in my head. Lol!

    Pre-Op Stress

My experience is that I weigh less in the morning than in the afternoon and usually try to get into the Dr's office early specifically because of the weight in.

Is there a weight loss deadline?

I'm scheduled for June 3rd so my opinion is theory at this point, but I plan to live by it unless something happens to prove it wrong. Think of the sleeve as a tool that some people need to help them loose weight. It cannot simply take the weight off for you, so what you will get out of it will depend on how you use it. A person can use a drill to help build a wall or help build a house. WLS can help you lose minimal weight or surpass the average. So you decide. ... do you want to build a wall or use your tool (putting in alot of extra work) to build a castle?
