    Newbie looking for Oct sleevers!

@@trvlgrl My surgery was 10/13 and my stomach still gurgles pretty constantly. You might think you feel hunger, but if you think about it, you're not really having the "I'm starving" feeling. It's hard to explain, but I know exactly what you're thinking. My stomach grumbles like it's hungry, but when I stop and think about it, I'm not really.

Hiya everyone! Hope everyone's Saturday is off to a brilliant start I shed another 1.2lbs yesterday which is making me super happy since I felt like yesterday wasn't a fantastic day for me. My incision right under my left boob continues to bother me so I'm still on the extra strength tylenol. I had pretty runny bowel movements and actually what felt like an upset stomach. I tried something new to eat yesterday. I ground up turnip root into a paste like consistency and had that (it's a traditional Chinese style food) and I loved it, but I don't think my stomach agreed. Oh well!

Even my IV spot is bruise free which is surprising. @@Peekboo in terms of calories in, we're going into "starvation mode". My doc explained that it's not really about too few calories going in that's going to do that, but what our body does in response to the lesser calories. So everyone's different. I'm averaging 300 cals a day, BUT the way to counter act starvation mode is to go workout and move around to trick my body into burning fat b/c it needs the energy instead of hoarding it and making us tired.

How do you know which side it was pulled out? The one that hurts the most for me is the one right under my left boob and the top of my ribs there are sore too

Good morning everyone! My first cover from my sutures fell off last night and I got a little panicked because that's the one that hurts the most for me, the one right under my left boob that gets irritated constantly from my bra strap. I put a bandaid over it before going to bed even though I know it's not the suture itself that hurts and the underlying area. I got on the scale this morning and only went down .2 lbs. I know I'm a slave to the number, but since I'm not on any other medication and I don't have to worry or concentrate on my blood pressure dropping, it's the only thing I have to go by other than clothing fit, which doesn't seem to be getting looser for some crazy reason. Makes me regret the 1/4 grilled cheese I had. Hope everyone's having a good day so far!

  12. @@Monasongbird_38 70 isn't bad at all! Did you get pain meds to go home with? You'll definitely want those at least for the first few days and then extra strength tylenol actually works pretty well.

Update on the grilled cheese: I only had 5 small bites (this is probably a quarter of a sandwich). I ate it very slowly, chewed at least 20 times before it mushed and basically just went down. I feel guilty about it now and know it was a bad decision. I'm having a little discomfort, but no more than at the beginning when I drank too fast and to gauge how much liquid my new stomach could take. I'm disappointed in myself for giving into the craving, but at the same time glad because while the first bite was amazing, by the end I wasn't even enjoying it at all.

Thanks guys! I ate half/am eating half and without the crust and chewing/eating very slowly and it's going fine. I've really missed chewing.

@@athomas125 that's awesome! Ok I'm going to be honest and am totally expecting the shame spiral in a minute, but I'm having a grilled cheese for lunch. I'm 10 days post op, not even supposed to be on solids yet, although I've been handling yogurt, hummus and ricotta just fine, and I had a falafel ball last night which I handled really well. So.... totally breaking the rules.

Dying to know about this shrinking feeling. I'm down 12.6 lbs since surgery (18+ total) and honestly my clothes don't feel looser. That seems unfathomable to me! And yes, watch out for sodium! It's in gatorade and Powerade and all of those sports drinks and definitely in soup if you're not making your own broth from scratch and using something from a box or can.

My absolute worst day so far was day 7 (if you count surgery day as day 1). I was completely lethargic, my take home pain meds ran out and I couldn't get more, everything hurt and honestly I slept most of the day and that really helped me out for Monday. You'll rally and I hope today is a better day for you too.

Is anyone else having cravings? I've never had pregnancy cravings, but I feel like this is what it would be like. I want bacon. I want grilled cheese. Pretty much anything savory. Just a tiny bite, but all of this relatively sweet stuff is killing me.

I'd prefer to keep the group on this. I'm not publicly sharing that I had this surgery. A few select friends and family know from my end and I don't want all of my social media to be aware. But that's just my opinion and I'm new here.

@@stephh that's really surprising to me! Ricotta was added to my diet on day 5 along with yogurt. I have the 0% Fage plain and I add just a little honey so it's not so bland and it goes down really well. I'm on creamy Soup too and I love butternut squash.

So I'm 9 days post-op and I feel like I'm hitting my first plateau. For the past two days I've barely lost a pound each day and I'm still experiencing residual pain around my incisions/abdominal muscle area. Is anyone else in the same boat?
