  14. I did Whole30 in the Spring and I was shocked to learn that I had a sugar addiction/craving. It was 28 days solid of craving something sweet, even though I have eaten very healthy for years. It turns out my daily whey Protein drinks were full of artificial sugars that my body was addicted to, as well as the artificial sugar in my many cups of coffee daily. So I said buh-bye to them. I don't use dairy or any added sweeteners nowadays -- aside from once in a great blue moon some real maple syrup on my Paleo pancake or an occasional piece of dark chocolate. I even read food labels and avoid anything with added sugars (and mostly I eat fresh food not packaged food).
  15. Very creative and I would not all be surprised to see Frosted Flakes on a sundae topping bar
  16. I waited far too long after my soaring weight gain during and after pregnancy to get my surgery. Good for you for not waiting any longer!
  17. @@blondebomb thank you for sharing your experience, and best wishes for happiness, my dear.
  18. @ I have looked at trauma counseling for PTSD and wanted someone experienced in that as well as used a CBT approach and maybe this method that involved something with eye movement (I forget the name). My crappy insurance covered only ONE facility and they had no one with the required experience. The LCSW that I met with for the intake was awful. I am getting new insurance coverage next year and will select a better plan. Then I plan to address the PTSD -- which BTW was related to my plastic surgery after weight loss. Yup, my experience was not all rainbows. Anyway, I wanted to ask about the treatment you went through, specifically what was it like, how long did it take, and how did it help? I understand this may be personal and that you may not feel comfortable sharing publicly. Please send me a private message. I surely would appreciate it. Thank you.
  19. @@Butterfly Effect (Again) it is your life and you only get to live it once! Enjoy!!!
  20. @@amponder I've been traveling in the South and it was darn hard to pass up sausage gravy and biscuits. I am thrilled that I developed a rocking recipe for a microwave Paleo buttermilk biscuit and adapted Paula Deen's awesome sausage gravy to be Paleo. Once in a while I will serve this with scrambled egg and it is sooooo good. I have diabetes, celiac, lactose intolerance, and an aversion to red meat. It makes dining out a challenge! So I became a pretty good Paleo recipe developer. Here's the biscuit recipe for anyone interested: http://www.healthcentral.com/obesity/c/276918/172994/microwave-paleo-biscuit?ap=831
  21. @@built2livenotexist this sounds tempting. I really am grateful for Paleo. It makes it so much easier to NOT justify eating foods like this to myself. For me it really is a slippery slope. All the money that I spent on plastic surgery isa pretty good motivator to eat healthy, too.
  22. @@fat_free This would be a big hit with the foodies! You should try to sell your recipe to Dunkin Donuts! Seriously! Oh wait, my bad. I am supposed to be helping people to eat healthy! Never mind, LOL!
  23. @@Beni yum, I would so have loved peanut butter and banana sandwiches fried in butter and cheese fries with bacon -- maybe at the same meal -- in my foodie days!
