Wow, I am very swollen today! Even my tummy feels swollen. I see Dr. Winslow in a couple of hours and will get this ace bandage off and wear a face bra instead. I cannot wait to get the ace bandage off. I feel like I am being choked. Any I am pretty sure I stopped breathing last night three times. I don't think that has to do with the bandage but rather with the pain medication. I was so drugged up that it is hard to tell if that is what was going on or not. But I recall waking up three different times sucking in a whole bunch of air and panting, as if I had apnea. The pain from the lips was so bad that I took more pain meds than I was supposed to take. Kids, don't try this at home!

@@Elode thank you. I always played up my eyes before plastic surgery. Now I play up my lips. I was doing fillers before and the results were great but hurt like heck! By the looks of my lips now, once the swelling goes down I think I shall be left with lips that are kissable and don't need any filler.

@@woo woo Dr. Winslow is tightening me because I had some looseness. It is a revision. I have the incisions inside my ears and behind them. I don't know if I have a neck incision. We really destroy the quality of our skin with massive weight gain and loss. Plus I lost some weight after my face lift. All of it contributed to some loosening. It is wonderful of her to revise me for free. I know many doctors would say it is your own fault for losing weight, or would say that I look fine the way that I am.
  6. I just wrote and article about the link between marriage, depression, and obesity. I think it played a huge role in my weight gain.

  11. @@bangbangbarbie your age is definitely in your favor. The quality of your skin is another factor. I had body contouring to get rid of my excess skin and fat. So feel free to ask any questions about that if you are interested.

    Possible eating disorder

@@jtickle read up on bulimia and get help as fast as possible. I suffered with bulimia for years before I had my RNY. It was extremely difficult habit to break and the longer ingrained the habit is the harder it is to change. What really helped me way back then was Wellbutrin 200mg twice a day and gastric bypass.
  13. I am wondering what post op patients - those who are a year out or more form surgery - are eating in a day in terms of calories, carb grams, fat grams, and Protein grams. I follow a Paleo diet (except I don't eat red meat) and the last time that I tracked my food, this is what I ate, but it is not a typical day. I usually eat less than this. 15. I'd go into McD's and order the big mac value meal super-sized with a diet coke. Yeah, that worked really well for me...

    2 years post-op gained 20lbs back.

Here are a few tips: Check with your healthcare professional and see if you... can take a prescription weight loss drug short term to get your appetite under control. can take an OTC weight loss drug short term to get your appetite under control. could follow a Paleo diet - I have no hunger cravings on Paleo but if I eat refined carbs or sugar (even natural sugar or artificial sweetener) it kicks my hunger into gear and I eat more (esp at night) and gain weight. need an antidepressant like Wellbutrin for binge eating disorder or nighttime eating; also check for depression. have metabolic syndrome, in which case I was told by my nutritionist to balance Protein and carbs 2:1 at every meal to lose weight are medically fit to exercise more than you already are. Also, follow the pouch rules. It is never too late to retrain your pouch!
  18. I tried a couple of new classes: Cxworks and BodyPump and enjoyed both of them. It also helps to motivate me because the instructor is pushing us. As well, I like the variety. BodyPump killed my right arm, though! I am waiting for my new insurance in January to find a new ortho and have it finally fixed.
  19. @@Jonathan Blue good suggestions all, thank you! I did not know that about watermelon. I will have to try it. I began drinking mineral Water with Scivation Xtend BCAAs added before/during/after workout and it absolutely helps my endurance. Last time around when I was upping my game with running etc the amino acids helped, so I figured I'd try them again. I am using the rowing machines until I can transition to more running. I am able to run a mile now on the track albeit slowly. It is improvement and pretty fast improvement at that. So I'll take it! What are you doing as far as bodyweight resistance training? What does your overall exercise regimen look like? What about your intake of Protein fat carbs, what does that look like? Thanks. I have a problem with pain in my right arm when I put weight on it. As well, there is some muscle weakness there. So it somewhat limits me. I cannot swim because the arm also has limited range of motion. Ironically this was caused from the brachioplasty more than a year ago. Argh, as I was working out at the gym today I remembered your suggestion about the hot tub and lamented that I did not bring my bathing suit. There is a very nice hot tub at the gym. I will be sure to bring my bikini tomorrow. LOL Thanks so much, Jonathan!
  20. @@Beni thank you for the encouragement and the good advice about Water. I had not been drinking enough and I recently increased my intake. It sounds like I did a little backsliding into old patterns of behavior -- not exercising, not getting enough water, and I was getting lazy with my Vitamins. You know that is a slippery slope!
  21. @@swimbikerun I tried cxworks today and liked it. And I did some free weights and leg presses. Yesterday I did 15-min of warmups like planks and bridges, 15-min rowing, 15-min free weights, 15 min running. I have a bunch of routines that my former trainer put together but I want to throw them out and start new. They are from last year and I am bored with them. I am meeting with a trainer on Friday morning... also getting the bod pod done and I am curious what my reading will be. My body fat percentage was really high last year! And that was AFTER all my body contouring. I cannot imagine what it would have been before Dr. Capella removed all that excess skin and fat. I had a scale that would tell body fat percentage and I remember when I was MO it was 50% fat!
  22. I'll bet there are lots of people who would eat PB and Bacon sandwiches. After all, if they eat bacon donuts...
  23. @@swimbikerun what do you mean by dry land work?
  24. @@swimbikerun I had some trouble swimming last Summer because my thighs and hips were still "stiff" from the plastic surgery. I could not flex the way that I needed to swim. I took crew and wondered if the boat tipped and I had to swim to shore if I would be able to do so. Of course, I knew that I could float or do the doggie paddle, LOL!
