  1. Had a rough day yesterday. As most of you know I recently had cervical spinal fusion via my throat. It has been very hard to eat or drink for 2.5 weeks now. Apparently my heart rate has been very low and I let myself get dehydrated. Well, I stood up yesterday took a step and woke up on the floor. Not a good thing for someone in a neckbrace with 3 new fusions. Ugh! Spent the day in the er getting fluids. Now they want me to see a cardiologist because of my unexplained low heart rate and over 51 age. My heart rate did not improve even after I was rehydrated. Luckily I was wearing my brace and other than being sore, I feel a little better today. I am thankful that I did not really cause a huge problem. Moral of the story, don't let yourself get dehydrated no matter what! And how did your Saturday go!

Sorry to hear this. Dehydration is nothing to take lightly. Take care.

So sorry you had such a rough day. I can't imagine how scary that was. I hope the rehydration from hospital at least makes you feel a little better and hopefully cardiologist doesn't find anything serious. Praying it was just a fluke!

I definately feel less tired today and of course am trying to sip like crazy. I am hoping the cardiologist thinks it's nothing as well. They told me that athletes sometimes have a heart rate that runs this low. I am far from an athlete, I had to chuckle. I do work out regularly but haven't obviously for almost 6 weeks. My lowest heart rate was running in the 40s which apparently made them nervous and my high was running at 55 consistently. Which apparently is also pretty low. Anyway, they did not keep me and I feel better today. Thanks for your concerns and well wishes!
