mamamia7 replied to ChronicJam's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
i have kids 3-11 had my mom for two weeks, by the third week i was able to function but limited in what i could lift i agree everyone is different with recovery and maybe if you arranged for two weeks of help and determine your real need as you go. . -

3 weeks post op and able to eat 1 small skinless drumstick and thigh in one sitting? Is this normal?
mamamia7 replied to Tired_of_being_Tired's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i was sleeve 10/6/14 and depending on what I eat determines how much i can eat ; 1/2 c soup is easier to eat than 1/4 of a cup of beans or yogurt while 2 oz of ckn is really a challenge but i can do tuna. i am dissappointed i cant do eggs at all but i try to slow down and listen to my tummy my struggle is trying to take 30 min to eat. all of us are different and all of our dr s have different requirements but in a nutshell our bodies r our best guide. good luck -

3 weeks out and i have the same issue, i have found relief by taking a sip of a carbonated drink its literally a tiny sip but enough to bring on a relieving burp. b/c sometimes that need to burp results in my losing my meal if i cant get relief tmi im sure but i really hate that feeling

Congratulations, I was sleeved 10/6 and have my 2 week post op tomorrow. It will change your life for the better. One of the things that has made me laugh are my kids reactions when I got hone they said "you look the same" they sincerely thoughtthe weight would be gone instantly. Now the running joke is that my 3 yr old eats more in 1 day than I do in a week. Having my kids make me laugh is a constant reminder of why I chose this. Good luck to you all.
