There is poop and I cant poop
pcvela replied to biggmikeeeee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Been there...done that. Suppositories were my answer. It was the most uncomfortable feeling ever. I thought I was dying. I now use chia seeds on a daily basis in almost all of my drinks. -
I miss chicken and dumplings ???? but don't miss the feeling I had after eating several bowls of it.

Maintenance is not what I expected.
pcvela replied to Healthy_life2's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I've been walking/jogging every other day. Still losing but it is slowing down which I'm good with. Was trying to stay at 200 but my body isn't cooperating. Already at 195. My goal is to 5k, 10k, then marathons. -
I agree. Your doing awesome. Follow the guidelines and never stop walking.

I don't understand these stomach pains @ 3 days post op
pcvela replied to jas84047's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Your stomach is probably trying to adjust to the change. It may be a build up of acid. I never had acid refluxed/gerd until after my surgery. Now I just stay away from spicy foods to prevent it. If your nutritionist is ok with it, try some frozen sugar free Popsicles. They were very soothing for me after my surgery. -
I've pretty much reached my goal. Down 125 pounds. I will definitely be reading these posts regularly. Finding ways to maintain and keep the weight down is my new goal. I may lose more but my personal goal was 200 pounds. I go jogging regularly. So recommendations on what you all are doing would be great. I'm a police officer so it's great to be where I'm at now. One thing I have done different is I've started drinking Spark on the days I plan to jog/run. Has anyone tried this any?

Great restaurant options for maintenance
pcvela replied to Rogofulm's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Are you all still careful with soups. I've always strained my soups so that the only thing I take in are the solids. -
I have lost 125 pounds and am getting really close to my goal weight of 200 pounds. Is there a way to slow weight loss down. I don't want to go to far past 200. I do workout a lot and go jogging frequently and want to continue that. Any fellow veterans have any info?

Why Did You Choose Your Specific Type of Weight Loss Surgery?
pcvela replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I chose the gastric sleeve after I researched all of the options. After talking to my surgeon, I made my mind up. -

Just saw this and would like to join if not to late. My weight yesterday was 289.6. I would like to lose an additional 20 pounds by the end of this challenge.

Dec. sleevers.. I saw a topic about this but lost it? Anyone out there yet for dec. surgery?
pcvela replied to kymmiej11's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi. I was sleeved on Dec 15th. Just saw this group. Figure I would check in. -
I was sleeved on 15th also and just checking on how you are feeling. I had a small issue but recovered and now feeling great. My incisions are crazy itchy but I'm dealing with it. Still on liquids but now able to handle all of my water intake.

Congrats. Can't wait for mine

anyone getting sleeved in DECEMBER?
pcvela replied to taniamatts's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am getting sleeved Dec 15th -
Well I just found out that my surgery date is on 12/15/14. I've been a lurker for a while but I guess now that reality has hit, time to become active with questions from veterans. I got my date today and like instantly got nervous. I'm sure I'll have questions as time goes. Got my gall bladder ultra sound set for 12/4 and a pre op 12/9. I'll be off from work for 3 weeks so hope that is enough for a little healing. I'm a police officer so decided it was a good idea to be off a little while.

My insurance required me to visit a dietician once a month for 4 months and also to see a psych doc. It took 2 weeks for approval from insurance...so about 5 - 6 months.

Thanks. Sure will.
