Best Unflavored Protein Powders?
clasnic1 replied to kelseysleevedup's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I like GENEPRO myself...I can put it in anything and it doesn't have a flavor. I get it from Amazon. I purchased it about 9 months ago and I still have a half a bag. One Tablespoon equals 30 grams of Protein. -

I have about 30-40 pounds more I want to lose but I have a lot of excess skin that I need to get rid of. But you look FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good job!!!!!!!!!!!! -
I hate asking this but does anyone have any ideas how to stop the sores in your groin area from excess skin? I don't want to dry it out with powder but it is getting really red, sore and itchy. I am 9 months out and I have lost 80 lbs and am running out of ideas. HELP please.

Sores from excess skin
clasnic1 replied to clasnic1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you all for your help I will get some gold bond powder. My insurance says it will cover it if it is a medical necessity so I am taking pictures (yuk) and documenting. They won't do anything until at least 12 months out. I think the main problem I have is it is getting moist from the skin hanging down on it. If i wear something that will hold it up a little it isn't as bad. -

Well I am almost 7 months out and I have been in a stall for the last month but my biggest concern is that I had high sugar (170-200) before my surgery. I was on Metformin 800 mg 2 times a day and after my surgery I was dropped to 500 mg 2 times a day til I was at 3 months. Then they put me to 500 mg 1 time a day. My sugar has been hovering around 100 and I have been getting light headed, really whoozy and feeling weird. At my 6 months check up I told my GP (He is handling my sugar), about my sugar. He took me off my diabetic meds completely. I sugar has been between 80-100 for the past 2 weeks. I haven't changed the way I eat except instead of Glucerna shakes I am doing Premier Protein shakes (maybe 2-3 times a week). Any one else having this problem? Oh and I am still loosing my hair and I have been on Biotin for 3 weeks. Any suggestions would help.

Thank you AvaFern. Your comments helped me a lot. I was getting nervous about my sugar as my Mother was Hypoglycemic. I always take my sugar in the morning 80-100 before I eat and again before supper and that has been 100-120.

This is so TRUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Does anyone know if cutting your hair will slow down hair loss? I have mid back length hair and I am 6 months out from surgery. The last 2-3 months I have been losing my hair. My PA told me to get Biotin but I was wondering if a shorter hair style would help. I get between 70-90 gr Protein a day. I am 67 lbs down, can anyone help please.

I went shopping over the weekend and could not believe the size I am wearing now. Before surgery 24 pants and 3x shirts. Now 16 pants and XL shirts. I no longer have to shop in the plus sizes. I never thought that would ever happen. 66 pounds down. Sorry just had to post this I am so excited. I also went out to eat at a restaurant for the first time since my surgery on Saturday for my 30th anniversary, (I was so nervous) but everything was fine. I ordered off the kids menu and I still took some home for dinner the next night.

I have a Fashion Bug Credit card but they went out of business but 3 stores are accepting it. I ended up buying at a store called Dress Barn in my area and all the clothes I got (2 pants, 3 shirts and a cardigan) all for under $100, they were on the clearance rack for 50% off. I got really lucky. The girls at the 3 stores where wonderful. One even said that there should be a consignment shop where you bring clothes in and exchange them for people who have had this surgery, I agree.

I like them all but I think my favorites would be Lemon and the Peanut butter - jelly.

One more can of tuna or chicken and I'm gonna puke! Need lunch ideas.

I am almost 5 months out. I love Lasagna but I fix it half with noodles for my husband and half without noodles. It is AWESOME and good source of Protein. Lately I have had Hormel chicken with white bean chili, I can get 3 lunches out of one can. -
I had Acid Reflux before my sugery Sept, 25, 2014 and 3 weeks out my surgeon took me off my meds for it and I have not had any acid since. I had suffered with it for 30 years.

I am 4 1/2 months out and I am losing my hair badly. Does anyone have any ideas what I can do? I am getting between 80-100 grams of Protein and around 50-60 oz of fluids a day. I don't see my Doctor for another month. I am getting concerned. I am also in a stall. In the last 1-2 months I have only lost 5-10 pounds. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My total weight loss is 59 pounds.

Chewable calcium is HORRIBLE
clasnic1 replied to monopoly2015's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My NUT and Surgeon have me taking Flintstone Complete Chewable tablets twice a day. They aren't bad but I swallow them whole. I am 4 months out hoping that they will change them when I go back in March. -
