Physically demanding job. Is two weeks off enough?
MLP70 replied to JudyQ's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would not have been ready. I went back just before 2 weeks to a desk job and that was tough enough. Although, I was very dehydrated and needed to go in for fluids that first week back to work. -
Day 10 post op - scale did not go down
MLP70 replied to michellc's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I lost 14 pounds in the first 1 1/2 weeks after surgery. Then I stalled until week 4 1/2. I lost tons of inches during that time. My stall finally broke today. It is common to stall. You're body is going through a huge change. -
2 Tablespoons of Food. Really?
MLP70 replied to Slimsoon1988's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't even move to meat until I am 10 weeks! -
Blender Recommendations
MLP70 replied to twinhappy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have a Blendtec. It's on the expensive side but I love how it can take fresh veggies and turn it into juice. -
The Waiting is driving me CRAZY!
MLP70 replied to wannaBthinsoon's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have UHC and I found out before my doctor's office did. I got a letter in the mail saying I was approved about 1 1/2 weeks after it was submitted. -
I had mine for 3 days in the hospital. Didn't bother me a bit and came out without me realizing the nurse had pulled it out.

I have been struggling emotionally as well. I did not expect to mourn food the way I have. I dream of food.

I got a prescription powder called Nystatin. Works great! -
Intermittent Weight loss, How do you handle it?
MLP70 replied to Stevehud's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had stalls when I gained weight so I expect them when I lose. I remember times when I was eating horribly and thinking, "wow, I haven't even gained", then wham 10 pound gain. -
I was sore like everyone else mentioned. The only pain I have had was from gas and the first couple days of sipping liquids. This is day 6 for me and I'm doing so much better than I anticipated.

Thank goodness I bought this stuff because it is the only Fluid I have been able to get to settle well in my new sleeve. All the powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury powders I bought before surgery; and liked, do not settle well. Even the chicken Soup gagged me. Maybe I will try again in a few days after my sleeve has adjusted to taking in Protein.

Sleeved on 2/18 and doing much better this morning. Amazing how being home to sleep in your own bed can help so much! I am also able to get my Protein drink down today compared with yesterday when I couldn't get anything down without it hurting.
-
I had surgery on the 18th and I'm having the same trouble. Every sip hurts. It takes me about 30 minutes to get down 1 oz. I sure hope this gets easier.

3 days Post Op, Shakes aren't going down so well, Help!
MLP70 replied to NotSoBigMike's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm almost 4 days post op and I'm having a very hard time getting enough fluids in. I am supposed to do clear fluids for 2 days and then move to full liquids for 2 weeks. The Protein powders that I had no problem with before taste awful to me now. Every sip is followed by a pain as it enters my stomach. -
I worried so much about this first day and I have been fine. Pain was very low other than the gas which is starting to work it's way out. Sore but it's like I over did it with sit ups. They did find a hernia when they got I there but it was small and now it's fixed. I've been walking every hour too. So happy right now.

MLP70 replied to laceyrasely92's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Taraasley04...I brought some slip on shoes, comfy clothes to wear home, toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, blow dryer, my meds, brush, gas x strips, and a robe which I haven't used. I hope this helps.i did great today. I hope everyone else had/has a good surgery day too. -
I had surgery at 7:30am. How are you doing? I'm doing great, just trying to get the gas moving.

Surgery is TOMORROW and I'm super sick!
MLP70 replied to yogachick's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh no, that really stinks. I will be thinking of you tomorrow. I can't believe our day is almost here. I report at 5:00am. -
Day 1 on liquids and feeling so dizzy
MLP70 replied to yogachick's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've been dizzy off and on. On my pre-surgery diet I can have unlimited salad veggies and 4 oz of Protein per day. When I was dizzy, I either needed to eat or I needed Water. -
I just need to get this over with because the waiting is torture. I probably won't be posting until Friday when I get back home. How are you all feeling? I had a headache for 2 days in the beginning of the pre-op diet, but after that I have been fine.
-
Preop diet is harder the second time around
MLP70 replied to Slimsoon1988's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am also on my preop diet. The first time I had an extreme headache for 4 days, this time it was only 2. I was getting all my protein in too. I think it was just shock to the system like you said and not getting in enough water. I lost so much water because the diet is such a diuretic in itself. I have felt fantastic since day 5. Now I'm just ready for surgery. -
Paperwork kicked back (not rejected) due to new ins. requirements, so bummed!
MLP70 replied to bvenegas's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had the same problem last fall. I found out the day before I was supposed to have surgery that I wasn't approved. I cried for two days. I just rolled with it and I'm now scheduled (& approved) for surgery next Wednesday. Hang in there, you will get there! -
I started my pre-op diet today and it doesn't include caffeine.Today I went cold turkey. Headache, but I know it will go away.
-
I started my pre-op diet today. I wouldn't do this any longer than I had to, it's brutal. (This is my second time on the diet since my first surgery was cancelled) I had a headache for 4 days straight last time.
