What level did you find your green zone?
2bfaithful replied to Miss Meg's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
It has been a really slow process for me. I have had a fill each month since January. I thought maybe my band had a hole in it but my Dr said no since he pulls the liquid out each month before adding more. I'm so glad I asked cause I was sure it had a hole in it. Lol. Well my last fill was at 9 in a 10 bad and I finally feel like I have a band. So I know what ur going through although you have done really well. I've been hanging on trying not to lose the initial weight I lost. This is certainly a journey and I look forward to learning how to figure it all out so I can lose some weight. It's been hard not getting down on myself and worried about people judging me knowing I had surgery and not seeing any weight loss. -
I think I am finally feeling it...

Hi Meg, I got my band about the same time as you. You are doing so well with the weight you have lost. I lost good weight in the first month of about 15 pounds and I got my appetite back and it has been really tough just to maintain. I'm so happy to hear that you are feeling the restriction and hoping my will be here soon. I just had my 4th fill Tuesday and I think I'm at 6. How many fills have you had and were you able to stick to the plan while not being able to feel the restriction? Sometimes I'm afraid that I will not be able to feel it or maybe I have eaten to much and stretched out my stomach. It is nice to hear good news from you:) -
I feel your frustration. I had my surgery Oct 29th and just received my second fill. I hope this fill helps cause I could pretty much eat what I want and trying to use will power. I did not realize it would take this long to get the green zone. Do you feel much restriction yet or are you pretty much doing it on your own? Your weight loss is good and I'm like you I tell myself to be patient that it took me a long time to get here. We'll I wish you the very best on your new journey:)

Hey Nicky, I feel your pain, guilt and sadness. I had my surgery in October and I still do not feel any restriction. It is very difficult and I keep beating myself up as I'm starting to gain weight as well. I guess it is easy to go back to the old way of thinking and beating ourself up for not doing as well as we think we should. Thank you so much for your words of encouragement from B52, that is exactly what I needed. I think it is so much more emotional process and a life change like you pointed out and I have to be more kind and patient with myself. I'm having another fill in 2 weeks and I will keep trying each day to make good choices, knowing it is a life change choice. I hope this fill will also help me. Nicky, I hope you see your doctor and I hope you have been encouraged by all of the kind words and support. I know we can do it, we just have to hang in there:)

Hi Donna1129, We had the surgery in the same month. It sounds like it might be too tight. Did you feel any restriction with your first fill? I'm kinda of opposite from you. I have only had 1 fill and I still do not feel any restriction ~ I guess we are both looking for that happy medium. You have had a great weight loss, I'm only at 20lbs. and trying to eat less its just a little hard right now without any restriction. If you don't feel better soon, I would go back and see your doctor. Do you know how much is in your band? Hope you feel better soon:)

11 days post-op, no restriction, and HUNGRY
2bfaithful replied to kinserj's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you Pink dahlia, That is really good advise. I need to get rid of my scale and try to just allow the process to work. Sophie139, I'm new to this app as well and I'm not quite sure how we can keep in contact. I will play around and see if I can figure it out. Wow cleaning your house and classroom that is really good ~ maybe I will just go shopping. LOL -
Hi Loser 2014! I'm looking for a bad buddy too! My surgery was on Oct. 29th. How are you doing? Your surgery was a little ahead of me. Looking forward to hearing from you.

11 days post-op, no restriction, and HUNGRY

Hi Ladies! I feel your pain! I felt the same way and I was surprised how much I could drink. It helped me when I could go on the mashed foods, I liked the refried Beans and low-fat cottage cheese because it would stick with me longer. My surgery date was Oct. 29th, so I think you are just a little over a week after me. I'm curious if your doctor has limited you to 1/3 cup per meal serving size? I'm with you as far as feeling a little weak and I know I need to keep busier and try to focus on the positive side. It is nice to have your sister there to help you and it is so awesome how well she has done. I like seeing other people's success as it gives me hope and inspiration. I hope we can keep in touch and help each other out through the new chapter in our life. -
I had my band on October 29th. Everything went well for my surgery. I have been struggling lately with being hungry. I'm on the mashed diet right now and was able to eat 1/2 to 3/4 C at each meal. My doctor told me yesterday to cut back to 1/3 c for 3 meals ~ that's only 1cup of food a day. I was a little discouraged to have to cut back on my portions and I'm realizing what a strong relationship I had with food. Not sorry I did it but I'm feeling a little sad. Hopefully I can get through this, I guess in the past this is where I would give up on my diet, so that's what is good about this is I can't. I was wondering if everyone else is on a limit of 1/3cup per meal. Thanks for your support!

Hi Carolinagirl, Thank you so much for your encouraging words. What an awesome accomplishment you have made! It really helps to see other Lap Banders success! I will try the Protein shakes, I have not had any yet. I'm excited because nextThursday is my first day I can have some real food ~ so I will need to be super careful on Thanksgiving. Happy Thanksgiving to you and to all!!!

Hunger and no fill yet
2bfaithful replied to janeykins1's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi there, I'm 2 1/2 weeks out and I do get hungry at times ~ but the small portions do feel me up. I'm looking forward to eating some real food instead of the mashed foods. I'm a little nervous about getting a fill, are you? Keep in touch and we can help each other out -
Hi, I would love to keep in contact with you and help each other out. My surgery date was 10-29 and I'm doing pretty well. My pain is a lot better and just takes a while to adjust to the new eating. I miss my first love, the food. I'm excited to think about what could be and looking forward to be in much better health. I took a Tylenol and benadril in the evening and it helped me sleep better, my doctor said that is was OK. I wish you well on our new journey
