Really!! I tried my surgeons office but of course I called and they closed two minutes prior. Thank you both! I guess it's better than after we give birth so another week to two it is.

    April surgeries

@@tcouperus, Please do not allow yourself to feel this way. I know that it is easier said than done... but this is a period when we must try so many different things and just find out what works for us... For me, I cannot do chicken of beef from after the surgery, it all tastes awful. So I decided to make a bowl of Ramen noodles, strain the broth and use that and for me that works, it is amazing. I have been able to take in 12oz of broth just by switching up the way I do it. It may not work for everyone but it's certainly worth a try. Jello, I have found for Gellatin -- I really only like the Strawberry-Banana one, everything else is just meh... I have made a bowl of SF Jello pudding in the vanilla flavor and eating more of that than the chocolate one I made as well... It is very touch and go and definitely a learning process. Please use every one here for ideas, google different acceptable forms of ideas for the stage at which you in. You CAN do this. Please let me know if you try anything else, or the suggestions I have used to help me thus far. Oh, also... protein wise... I have NOT until today been able to get in any type of protein so I went to GNC yesterday and purchased the Isopure Liquid Protein. Its a 11+oz bottle (looks like a Snapple bottle) which contains 40g of protein!!!!! Yes, 40!!!! I have drank almost a complete one today. They're better when you let it slightly dilute on ice. so an hour before I am ready to start drinking I grab a glass, fill it with ice (which adds more to your water per day) and let it sit out and dilute some. They are a little more expensive but my reasoning for switching to this for now is to maximize my protein for the next week the easiest way possible (we already have a lot going on let alone trying to incorporate protein in our diets) so that when I see my surgeon next week, and begin on soft moist proteins I can manage 1-8oz skim/protein at 25g and make up the rest in my meals per day. I hope this helps. keep me posted... hugs!!!!!

    Fat free Creamer...

Does anyone know why not? Is it simply a dehydration reason??

    April bypass buddies.

I agree with @oregonteacher. I had surgery on 4/22 my fup is on 5/7. 15 days post-op... It's absolutely within your right to phone the office to check on this... Also, do you have staples?? I do which is probably why I am relatively close in date so they can be removed... Just a thought.

    SF Jello

I will make that a stop tmrw when hubby is home. Ty.

    SF Jello

Thank you @@faith19evans & thank God, bc I need something slightly heavier. I've also found the ONLY was to do broth, is making a package of Ramen draining all of the broth from it and drinking that, lol. Might sound nuts but it works.

    Feeling Excited!

Finally! It's here!! I begin my day of complete clear liquid diet tomorrow and will head in for the Gastric Bypass surgery, Wednesday morning... I'm a complete bucket of emotions that I did not expect right now! I have been on this site since I began my program in October 14' and just now finally feel like this is all really happening and comfortable enough to post. I'm incredibly grateful for this site as I've gotten several months of posts to read and help me along the pre-journey! HW - 248 SW - 235 CW - 226 GW - 125
  13. Suddenly today just shy of a week from Gastric Bypass am I questioning my decision to go this route vs the Sleeve... Literally, numerous times today I have actually gotten anxiety that perhaps I made the wrong decision... Knowing fully I cannot go back! If anyone else is or has had these feelings, I would appreciate your insight as to if you agree, don't agree and what led you to understand why you calmed yourself out of this emotional moment. I know the medical reasons why I chose GB... Just feeling a little sad. Much appreciated ????

April 22nd is the Big Reset!

Congratulations, that's so awesome! Your doing great. Yes, it's totally a day by day thing. You sound our your adjusting well back into a regular routine. I understand your kids needing help with everything, my kids want to be all over me and it's so hard not to pick them up, but my decision was to make sure I'm always here to pick them up, run, or anything with them.. Keep up the good work, x's!

    April surgeries

@@Alissak77 That is great news!! Congratulations. I am so envious that your on pureed foods already. I cannot begin those until next week. I am 6 days post op and feeling great today as well. Since surgery I'm at 14 lbs also. Very excited. How are your Staples feeling? Mine are driving me nuts. I see my NP on may 7th and get then out the finally. I too am awaiting even a spoonful of a carb, I can't each much more than 3-4 bites of anything right now anyways. But I don't get the go on full foods for 5 more weeks... Next week begins my pureed and ground moist proteins, bleh lol. Did you try the caltrate chews from Walmart? I assume much cheaper. But at least I know another person who is liking the caramel chews since I don't have to start my vits till next week. So excited for you so far.

Why is this ALL I'm thinking about now!?

Congratulations @@feelinggood! Your not alone, I so cried when my surgeon was speaking to me right before they wheeled me into the or. I have been speaking to numerous people who've gone thru either sleeve or bypass and the concensus is this: initially we are making these crazy drastic changes. Doing so much good for our body. Getting it healthy so we can correct our initial mistakes of more than likely overindulgence. When we reach our points of what makes us feel great, energetic, beautiful or handsome we can then introduce in extreme modification those little thimgs we once enjoyed. I've began to understand carbonation will absolutely ruin your ability to completely maintain as it is a main trigger for weight gain bc it slowly allows you to stretch your pouch and not allow you to feel the restriction of maybe one or two Hershey's kisses and suddenly you've had twelve... I love sprite. It's absolutely delish to me, but when I began this journey I said if I want this bad enough this is what will ruin me and set me up to fail so I can give you up! I'm glad your doing well. Three weeks out is great. I imagine you still on your moist, soft proteins, you can't go eat everything right?

    Fat free Creamer...

OK so here it is... I feel like I am drinking FV flavored water bc of the decaf!! Very bummed bc coffee is my crack too! I'm someone who drank 6-7 travel size mugs of coffee a day. A DAY !!! Bad... Yes.. But I knew doing this changes were coming. Overall the coffee mate, sf, powdered cream isn't half bad... I decided to do the powder this time as I have been making a mug of tea and taking two to three sips satisfied and I dump the rest. So the powdered lasted longer than the actual cream. Once I get to 8 weeks post op you can bet I'll be back to my morning cup of coffee w my CAFFEINE. I have read numerous people who actually never do the decaf while they've become sleeved or bypass (like my sister)! But being a week out, I don't want to start my journey off doing something I know I shouldn't.
  18. KalelsWifey

    Fat free Creamer...

LOL. The struggle is real! I'm headed shortly to the market to get some decaf coffee. It is my absolute favorite thing in this world of food is my coffee. Preferably caffeinated but I'll give the decaf a whirl. If I'm brave enough to try sugar free today, I'll let you know.

Why is this ALL I'm thinking about now!?

Truly I thank each and everyone of you for responding to this topic! Each of your situations have helped me to understand that the decision I made was a good one and I am only a week post on so I must five myself time to adjust. I agree on so many levels with what you all have stated and perhaps I was going through a 'poor me' moment when I should be ecstatic that over this weight-loss journey I will be the me I once was. Not living my life based on food, but living life to enjoy all of its other beauties. Hugs to you all thank you.

    Incision question

I am in the same situation... Kinda. I wouldn't say it 'hurts' but is a rather nagging, uncomfortable feeling... Like perhaps my staples are tugging. I will say it 'bleeping' hurts when I sneeze!!! If I can, I'll grab a pillow and hold tightly when I have to. I too am 5 days po. My biggest problems so far are, stretching feeling from staples, not standing completely straight yet, protein intake and wishing to sleep on my side/tummy!!! I can drink a TON of water thru day tho which is good. I just want to skip ahead to 3 months po!

    Feeling Excited!

Hey @@zumbapink! How are you? I have just recently gone thru Gastric Bypass on 4/22. The morning of surgery i was 227 lbs, today my morning weight was 217.8 lbs... I'm 6 days out... not much for days out, but the 10 lbs lighter is boosting my overall spirit. I wiol NOT lie to anyone and say this is not a difficult first few days... but already at 6 days post op... im feeling a heck of a lot better... gradually getting more energy... taking in protein any way I can, sipping on warm decaf fluids and Popsicles oh boy, they've neverrr tasted so yummy! Lol. Truly. Recovery in my opinion is best when getting in your protein and having your family and friends for support. I wish you a lot of luck. Please keep in touch. Let me know if i can be of any help.

    Weight loss

I'm not sleeved, I had bypass, on 4/22 - but I started that morning of surgery at 227lbs and this morning my weight is 217.8 lbs in 6 days! (Hope you dont mind me posting under this forum)!
  23. Congratulations on both your journey and YOU, girl. Look at you. Beautiful ♡. Keep up that positive attitude. Your an inspiration. Good luck tomorrow.
  24. Congratulations! What an accomplishment. It is incredibly exciting. Your positivity is uplifting. Can you answer from having your wls to having a tummy tuck how is the pain scale? Im still extremely early on recovery fr the bypass, but I am so curious as to the whole tummy tuck process ... at this moment, i never want to do another surgery, but my husband keeps telling me to think positively and tells me when im ready to consider the tuck, that I wont even remember thr bypass. .. can you add me as a friend? I don't know how to do so from my phone...
