I agree. I like that there is a 'B*itch Board' bc we all need to sometimes... I sometimes don't want to say how I'm feeling bc you'll get some people with "you know what you were signing up for". I'm sorry when your in a bad way, it's not the time to hear how your not doing this right, that right, and you should've rethought what you were doing an so on.

I too am having that exact problem! It's incredibly frustrating.

@@Luna222, Don't feel discouraged. Your doing wonderful! You've got it absolutely right, Walmart sizing SUCKS! I have to go into Walmart with the mentality that I'm buying this size, but anywhere else it would be 1-2 sizes less. For me I deal with that for now, bc as I'm losing weight, I refuse to pay, Kohl's, JC Penny, Nordstrom or even Target prices while I still have a bit to go ahead of me. You MUST, MUST MUST, get your 'Protein & Vitamins' in each day. Also, you need a - pick me up-. Your feeling down. Do something for yourself that gets you in a better mood. Get a pedicure, buy a new lip gloss, new summer dress that makes you feel good, hair cut... Something to put you back into a mood of feeling good! I know if I miss a vitamin or don't get 60g of protein in, I'm feeling super blah. You can do this. Feel better.

Nausea... Don't want to eat!
KalelsWifey replied to KalelsWifey's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Thank you @starbuckscoffeegal. I believe you were absolutely right! I kicked up my water and overall fluid in take again and that helped with eating. Enough that I am eating but known can eat more. I tend to get full with ground meat quickly. Weird. -
Surgery 4/22/15, lost 33 lbs so far. 1/3 of my desired weight loss. It's starting to own down a bit. Hopefully this stall will end so I can now start the typical weight loss pattern.

Before and After Pics
KalelsWifey replied to Roserie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Tbh I love your question bc I believe your correct!! Due to my pregnancies my muscles stretched. Badly. That being said, I also overall had about 85-100 lbs extra to lose... Depending on how you look at my weight. I since delivering two years ago, had a six month pregnant look. Everything else looked OK. Now that I've been losing the weight since my surgery, my belly had gone down drastically and bc I have extra skin. Not a ton but will definitely need a panni or abdominoplasty my belly button looks slightly lower, not crazy or anything but I believe it's because I'm losing so much in the mid section. I think I will try taking my measurements, I've never done that. -
Nausea... Don't want to eat!
KalelsWifey replied to KalelsWifey's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
No, I haven't bc when I went into gnc, they said 'unflavored' still has a flavor and apparently for being non flavored tastes nasty... If that makes sense. I think truthfully it's bc I want to incorporate healthy foods like protein Pancakes or whole wheat toast but can't that's maybe making me blah to all the proteins already. -

Don't feel that way! They're not in your body and truly cannot feel what your going thru! I was on my surgeons office the whole way thru well. Even though they give a specific time line of what happens and when. I feel better when I am in control. There is no excuse that your insurance company has yet to receive all documents needed in order to authorize your switch to bypass. CALL THEM AGAIN! You should not suffer. Don't forget, you don't work for them, THEY WORK FOR YOU! -
What ya eating tonight?
KalelsWifey replied to OleHippieGal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
When I read all of these they sound so good! But when I eat most of what I used to enjoy, I'd rather not eat. I am only 5 weeks out and hopeful it'll get easier. But food... I just don't care for. -
Congratulations on both! At least you've now been approved. It's all in God's will. Gbu Hun, wish you luck!

I thought I might post this here in hopes someone else may have experienced this what I am. I will be reaching out to my surgeons office tmrw morning, but some insight on what may be happening would be great. I'm not exactly sure how many days now that my symptoms have been happening, I'm noticing it more frequently which prompted me to try and look into it. Recently I began noticing that if I am sitting and my hands are helping to support me up (if leaning on a bench or something) almost immediately it will go number and when I sit up, they get tight, clench and scarily almost feel paralyzed for ten seconds until some sensation comes back into them. Also when I blow dry my hair, I bend over, flip my hair and blow dry like that and I'm noticing that after 20 seconds in that position I'm getting the pins and needles feeling along with numbness.. DOES THIS SEEM STRANGE? Or am I overreacting?! Truly I cannot recall ever feeling like THIS. Sure I've experienced pins and needles but this is definitely way or than that feeling. I appreciate any insight.

Dreaded Stall, 3 wks out...
KalelsWifey replied to KalelsWifey's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Lmao your absolutely right. My kids, 2 & 4 are done before me... Not bc of shoveling but for me, slow has been the key. I think every office may be different bc they told me any proteins. Including my homemade Meatballs and sausage or one sausage link with egg in the am. I don't find I want to eat it anyways lol. -
Welp... Sadly I've hit what I believe is the dreaded stall. I'm not letting it get me down. I've lost what my nutritionist says, to be double the weight in the first three weeks... So I guess it only makes sense. For three days I've stayed the same or lost only 2-3oz. I also began eating moist proteins y'day which I've been warned as I transition over to expect a stall. I'm really hoping to lose another 10-15 lbs by next month, my b'day, but also my sisters wedding. My goal was 30 lbs by b'day but I've already reached that so I would like 40-45 lbs in total by then. Can I jump start by adding a ton of protein more than required amount and exercise to get over the stall? How long have people experienced stalls for?

Dreaded Stall, 3 wks out...
KalelsWifey replied to KalelsWifey's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Well I will tell you what went down like butter for dinner tonight... Hibachi Filet & Shrimp!!! Absolutely delicious... It was not as difficult to say no to the rice as I followed the rules and did my protein first. I could not believe how easy it was to eat and no discomfort... My husband might be screwed Hibachi every night... Lol. -
Dreaded Stall, 3 wks out...

Love this forum and all of you, my friends! You've all helped me tremendously since before surgery and after. @@beachgal2935 I decided not to change what I've been instructed to do. I've eaten my meals (what I can get in at least). I can't eat more than two to three bites it seems... I do and I am stuffed for at least an hour or two afterwards. It's very uncomfortable. But I don't let that give me fear for the next meal. I've just gone back to basics, slow eating, placing my utensil down once I've taken a bite no fluids not even a teeny sip and literally counting 22 as was directed in my program. Hardest part while eating for me is the drinking. I NEVER realized how much I sip between bites... I tend to get very thirsty while eating. This has been difficult but I'm confident I'll get used to my new eating habits. I was at about 6 days and stepped on this morning and I'm down 2.8 lbs so I have to give myself the time to lose and not focus on how fast... As everyone else says and I'm learning, I didn't put it on over night.. I'm just grateful to be at 196 lbs. Hugs to you all. Thank you for your help and support. -

Today is day 4 of the scale not budging. I'm going to give one week, if it continues, I'll change up my eating and protein. I really don't want to, bc I want my body to get used to eating solids. Not just liquid anymore. It's a hard transition when your going from one to the other. -
OK so I'm learning that every day is a challenge! Made scrambled eggs, one sausage link and iced coffee, about 3oz of coffee (which was approved by my nut). I'm struggling to get more than one bite of sausage and two of eggs in. I'll put it in the micro and try again... I believe it has to be starting off slowly and retraining our body to eat solids again. I just went thru 4 weeks of liquid and I feel this may be my issue... I tested this out last night by eating half of a sugar free pudding and it was fine. I'll give myself a week to adjust before I contact my surgeons office and find ways to make it even more moist.

@@MichelleTN Hey there, I too started moist proteins today, I came home and straight away made 1 scrambled egg with a little bit of shredded cheese. I ate really slow, no drink and managed 3/4 noticed I was getting full. Stopped. Dinner I made a 5oz Chicken breast and ate probably 2oz. Try it again, make it really moist and just go as slow as you can.

Whew I thought I was alone in this!! I am so excited to see my nut today so I can come home and finally make a Tuna, Pickle & Egg White salad. Been craving since hours after my surgery. 3 weeks has been too long lol. Oh and homemade Meatballs, which I will be making tmrw morning as it takes 5 hrs to cook.
