What's your "weight loss pet peeve?"
Elode replied to Elode's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@@wantingabetterlife Ha! Thank you! Nobody has asked me that yet but my oldest daughter came to visit and said I was like someone on crack....WTH! She says oh because you lost so much weight so fast. Like I said before my ex told me I "looked sick" at that time I was still 200+ lbs. Come on people! I'm no where near sickly! I'm still considered overweight technically. I think he only said it because I had moved on but still! Everybody has such strong opinions on how I look, weird because I don't give a rats a** about how they look! -

@@scarletwitch19 When I do go out to a Restaurant I usually order a appetizer, or nothing at all and just pick of the families plates. You do get use to it and you will be astonished when you look around at how much people actually eat. I was one of those people for far to long! -

@@*Lexie* Oh me too! My girls wanted (insisted) on going to the golden coral last week. I haven't been to a buffet in almost a year. What a complete waste of money! I knew it was a bad idea. I had a couple bites of meatloaf, a spoon of corn and a chocolate dipped strawberry, I was watching the little 80 yr old couple sitting across from us and was amazed at how much they could eat. I'm like toddler sized portions I never touch the water either. They may as well not even bring it. -

Setting goals - formula vs. bmi

@@Chuckster Aww well that's good for you chuckie! I'm one of the Absurd ones who is now officially 98 lbs down and medically just as healthy as you if not more so, we should compare lab reports!!! It's good that you were able to lose the weight with your system, I'm happy for you. I wouldn't degrade how other people chose to get healthy (which is technically what your doing) Why do you have a surgery date of March listed? Make sure you come back in another year and let us know how all that's working out for you! I would love to know what material you studied for your information, being as I'm working on my masters for my NP. In all my years of college and nutrition classes I must have missed those books explaining how the MD are so ignorant. I'm sure my surgeon would beg to differ seeing as how he's also one of the top trauma surgeon in our state. Congratulations on your success!

Still taking acid reducers?
Elode replied to pattimomof3nj's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Ouch! I still take mine but I'm only 9 months out. I did forget my prescription while on vacation for 5 days but I did Ok so who knows, I'm still going to take them though sounds like they are going to be a part of your life or maybe you can adjust what your eating? Maybe it's something you eat that causes it?@@pattimomof3nj -
Setting goals - formula vs. bmi
Elode replied to roundisashape's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I went by my highest BMI to be in normal range for now. I'm sure I will change it eventually but I'm going by BMI/how I look method! -
You're welcome! I hope that helps you. Hang in there!

How did you guys do the 2 week/1 week liquid only diet?
Elode replied to wagyu's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@Catherine Davis Sure, why not?! -
@ I was prescribed a antacid after surgery that I still take. You should ask your surgeon. Even if it's just tums ask them and see what you can have. I know I couldn't have made it w/o my prescription the first few months,

@@mtraverse Thank you! I LOVE traveling too but I've had to take a break to go back to school and work on my NP. I start back in two weeks so I will be a busy girl but I will try to keep up with everyone congrats on your fantastic progress too! -
@@TexasGirl86 Maybe you will be one of the lucky ones? I tried everything 10,000mg of biotin (even before surgery) I got all my protein in within the first two weeks, took all my vitamins, only washed my hair every other day ect... Unfortunately none of that did any good. It still came out but on the bright side I just cut it off and I love it! It's soooo much better than having hair sticking to me! I know it sounds dramatic but it grows back and it's really worth it once the weight comes off. It's like having a baby, it hurts but once you see the results It won't even matter

Is it safe to do a detox/cleanse?
Elode replied to VSG_Hopeful's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I did a juice detox. It was fine for me. I was having issues with meats so I decided to let my digestive track rest for awhile. I do that periodically with just drinking protein drinks a water for a few days. I think that's why I haven't stalled (that I know of) -

Crackers soaked in soup? I don't know but it doesn't sound very appetizing...well maybe if I were in your shoes it would.
