One and a half years out - gastric sleeve surgery
Elode replied to sweettea's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Wonderful, congrats! -
@@Bryce Juneau Sr. Are you taking a B vitamin? If not get some. Losing rapid amounts of weight is rough on the body, it's trying to keep up so you can expect some fatigue, rest when you can.

Really, What is the Straight Skinny Post-Op?
Elode replied to Sunshine3073's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
1) Maybe- Mine really never changed just my appetite. 2) Maybe- Mine disappeared for a good 6 months but it slowly comes back. 3)Maybe- It may be easy for you and you may very well still need to use a good amount of willpower to resist the urges. See all those maybe's are because only time will tell. Nobody can give you a correct answer. Our bodies are all different. Good luck! -

@@cole225 I did that pre-op and took some over the counter sleep aid to help me sleep. Careful you'll probably start having dreams about pigging out. I did. Then I'd wake up all freaked out thinking I ate a bunch of junk.

8/14 is the Big Day! Feeling very nervous
Elode replied to beingfree's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@@beingfree Normal! I kept telling my husband "let's just walk out, I'm sure people do it all the time" on surgery day. I felt like that right up until they knocked my butt out, which was on the sly might I add. No warning....probably a good thing. Just hang in there it's worth it! -

What's your vitamin of choice
Elode replied to dkrause's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@dkrause I started with chewables in the beginning but now I rarely take anything. My labs are perfect without vitamins so my surgeon said its not necessary since we still absorb what we need through the food we eat, assuming your eating properly. -
Boom! There you have it!

What's your "weight loss pet peeve?"
Elode replied to Elode's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Just say no to trolls!! -
A www I think she's sweet to have sent you a nice email. Maybe she just never saw you as a big person so she didn't focus on it. That's not such a bad thing. My own husband had no clue how much I actually weighed. We played the "guess how much I weighted the day of surgery " game and he said 190, 1 freaking 90!! He was in shock when I pulled up my medical records online and showed him the actual weight of 267. My own husband didn't realize I was that big And we live together!!

@@mimorison I asked that same question, I had 3 c-section and I was told they were way worse, ummm NO! I'm not going to lie my sleeve surgery hurt! It hurt when I woke up but the recovery nurse gave me something so I would stop cussing about how people told me it wouldn't hurt . That pain med made it much better. Getting up and down hurt. I was on a morphine pump and stayed in the hospital 2 days. Day 3-5 (home) were the worst. I finally called my surgeon because I couldn't take it anymore and he upped my pain pill to a much stronger narcotic. After that I was much better. I had a JP drain that caused me some of the pain so I ended up pulling it out myself that made me fell 100x better! Don't let this freak you out because a lot of people say it's not bad. I don't know why mine hurt so bad. I didn't have gas or any of that stuff. It just did. I'm only telling you my experience, the important thing is it's over, I'm down 100lbs and would do it all over agian if I had to. Pain is just a part of any surgery, they did stab me in the stomach 5 times so it's not going to be painless. All in all its over and that's all that matters!

Elode replied to Shellbell619's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@Shellbell619 I'm beginning to think it's just something people say like when your pregnant and the first thing people ask is "is it your first"? I heard that so many times about Not needing surgery it was ridiculous. I was 267lbs at what point do I need surgery then? Once I'm dead? Yep she should have had surgery. Lol! Just say thanks and move it along....unfortunately for them you get to decide that.
