I've found two negatives from major weight loss!

My EVER so helpful husband: Well honey would you like me to install a full length mirror in the shower so you can see what you're doing? Me: Umm I'm not sure if you're being nice right now or securing yourself a new bed on the couch?! Let's just pretend you didn't just say that. -

My Big Fat Fabulous Life - Do you watch it?
Elode replied to MIMISAN's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's too scripted for me. All the aches and pains she has makes me feel miserable. Having a friend drive 5 hours to "take care of her body" by giving her massages was a bit too much for me. I think that makes obese people look lazy and helpless but then she dances. How "fabulous" can your life be when you can't even take care of your own body without assistance? I'm calling BS! I don't know I just can't get into it. I've never been one for the overly "diva" persona. Not my flavor. -
I'll be turning "two" in a few days!

What body type do you have after your weight loss?

Hourglass. Even when I was fatter. I've always been smaller in the middle than anywhere else. -
Embrace the stall? What does that mean?
Elode replied to Kgl24's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I second @@BLERDgirl I had already been on this site long enough to know what was more than likely going to happen so I stayed off the scale, I still rarely weigh. Once every other week is good enough. In doing that I've never had a stall at least not one I knew about. It helped to keep me sane. I would not do well trying to weigh all the time. I've also been studying the body for years. Your body is going through some major "trauma" and it needs time to rest and catch up so to speak. If your doing your part you will get results. Being aggravated and feeling defeated does nothing in the way of helping the process but making it a miserable experience. I've enjoyed my process because I just take it one day at a time and 10 months later bam 110 lbs gone! -
Well I did the "beet test". I didn't plan on doing such a thing It just so happens I've been on a roasted beets and Brussels sprouts kick. I had a minor freak out session when I went pee and it was red. TMI, I know but it's for a purpose. Anyway I knew it wasn't blood so I started doing some research and found my answer. I have never had this happen prior to surgery. I would remember something like that! So It's a sign of low stomach acid and other things. I posted the article below. I don't know if I should be worried or not so I will ask my NUT about it . I find it pretty interesting though so I thought I would share. It's a natural test you can actually do yourself. Our bodies are just too cool! I think I'm going to start taking some probiotics. Now, if there's a shortage of beets I will know why. You're welcome!

@@Domawa I was doing that for a few months. I made a post about it. I upped my fluid intake (water) and it's gone now, I was drinking too much coffee and not enough water.

@@Margie122 22% and 50% of the population report having pungent pee after eating asparagus. But that doesn't mean only some people's bodies generate that smell. Researchers believe that, during digestion, the vegetable's sulfurous amino acids break down into smelly chemical components in all people. And because those components are "volatile," meaning airborne, the odor wafts upward as the urine leaves the body and can be detected as soon as 15 minutes after you eat this spring delicacy. But only about one-quarter of the population appears to have the special gene that allows them to smell those compounds. So the issue isn't whether or not your pee is smelly; it's whether you're able to smell it. If you smell a funny fragrance in your urine after you eat asparagus, you're not only normal, you have a good nose......................Ha! I actually looked this up sometime ago! I smell it!!

@@liannatx It's the perfect mix! I get to eat all the Brussels sprouts because my family hates them.

Eat fish, you can't go wrong with fish unless you fry it, don't do that. especially fatty fish loaded with omega-3 fatty acids like Salmon, tuna, sardines, herring & trout. -
@@BigViffer lol! Well I'm glad the red pee caught your eye!
-
I did a nursing contact in PA and had red beet eggs for the first time when I was there. Best of both worlds!
-
@@BigViffer Here's what I'm eating now....red pee won't stop me!!!
-
@@BigViffer I don't use any recipe I just peel them, cut them up along with halved Brussels sprouts, add olive oil to coat and spices, cumin, garlic, salt, pepper, touch of red pepper, onion powder, paprika, ect...whatever you like. Depending on the amount (usually 3 large beets and a bag of Brussels sprouts) I cover them and put them in the oven at 425 for an hour. Delicious even if it does cause red pee!

@@twinmomC Men can be so insensitive. He may also be stressed and in a fowl mood due to the finances. It doesn't give him a green card to be rude to you. I say if you want that job you go and get that job. He will surly get over it and if he doesn't he can find another job. You need to make you own money if it will make you feel more secure. When you are less dependent on someone else you are better off IMO. I wouldn't pay him to much mind. And get the damn beef sticks, put that stuff up and don't feel guilty about I'm sure you do plenty for that family. I'm a smarta** though so if my husband said something like that to me I would start eating them right there in the store.
