Elode replied to Thenewnic's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@Thenewnic Nope! Drink your clear protein like they said if you can. I drank the isopure clear protein drinks + the others things broth, ect and I added coconut water To help hydrate. -
@@Shell88 Guys are silly! He doesn't sound very supportive but he also just sounds like 100 other guys out there! My husband was/is extremely supportive and helps he tremendously but I can tell at times he's "fake" listening to me just to be nice like I "fake" a crap about all his football teams...it's ok to have different interest but he should at least be respectful about it. I know I probably/DO talk my husband to death about every little detail of this surgery, everything in measurements that I ate for the day, ect.... He's pretty awesome to listen fake or not to it since he's never had a weight issue. Try to find a common ground if you can. Maybe something outside WLS and video games....if only they had a video game about WLS.....

@@Shell88 Sounds delish! Except I only use real butter...they say real butter is so much better for you than Fake...well that's what my NUT says anyway I love seafood!

Protein powder help
Elode replied to Quest4TheNewMe's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@Quest4TheNewMe Have you tried the ready-made premier protein shakes? They are my FAVORITE! Well the chocolate is anyway. I feel like I should be paid some kind of commission because I'm always recommending them but They truly are my fav! If you haven't tried them Maybe you should? They are cheaper if you buy them from SAMS. Just an option. I haven't tried a ton of different kinds, maybe 6-8 but I didn't care for any of them and they usually have less grams of protein..ect -
@@SuperDave Lol oh I was cusing! I remember it clear as day! I was telling them "everybody lied!!!" My male recovery nurse was like "who lied" and I said everybody! Everybody said this doesn't hurt! They all f***ing lied! He was laughing which I didn't find amusing in the least. Then he told me ok now don't cuss...if I could I wound have punched him in the throat. Luckily he gave me something that kicked the pain almost instantly so then I could have kissed his face...that recovery room is a dangerous job!

@@ElyQuint What is a "house spouse"? I've never heard that before is it a boyfriend you live with or your actual husband? ....anyway I can see how you might be a little frustrated but remember you made the decision to have WLS for yourself and only yourself. You can expect someone else to change their life just because you did. If you don't want to be with your partner anymore because of the "what ifs" then so be it. Weight is not the only thing people die of and it doesn't mean he will be in a wheelchair or on chemo..(not sure how chemo even has anything to do with it) If the man is happy the way he is then leave him be and if you feel the need to leave than leave but don't try to make him be something he's not.

@@beachgurl84 Oh I hear ya, I was a little "shocked" at just how miserable the first 5-6 days We're but by day 7 it was much better and here I am almost 3 weeks out and it's like it never happened....except for restriction so rest assure it will get MUCH better!
-
@@laurenella82 I didn't because I wasn't required to, in fact I put on 8lbs during the 3 months . I did lose on my 2 week pre-op diet but that was inevitable. I think it depends on your insurance and what your surgeon request for you to do.

@@KatrinaGrace My goodness! Calm down Dear! Nobody says "you can NEVER have carbs again" there's really nothing you can never have again. Banging your head and eating potato chips won't help in any situation. You didn't say when you had surgery?! November? I'm going to assume you are having a freak out moment because A: you aren't feeling good. B: maybe you haven't graduated to "real" food yet. C: wonderful delightful explosion of hormones? D: you were misinformed about your new way of eating? Or E: all of the above. The first few weeks are taxing to say the least. You are not doing yourself any favors By getting all worked up this early in the game. A lot , and I mean I've seen a lot of people with regret early out and then turn around and say how grateful they are Later. It's ok to vent, cry, scream, whatever get it out and let it go! You are going to be ok and I'm going to check back with you after some healing time has passed. Now I'm gonna need you to just Breathe!

Premier protien ready-made shakes are my hands down favorite
-
@@samanthar Yes! They still do I liked all the premier protein shakes before surgery now I only like chocolate, I liked coconut water my first 2 days out, now I don't want it, and I liked my cream of shrimp soup but not anymore! It's like day to day things change. Sooooo try not to stock up on too much. Get the smallest quantities That you can and keep trying them for a few days because day one and two may be good but by day 3 your over it

Elode replied to alyssadietrch's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@@alyssadietrch Had my surgery on a Monday and was back in class that next Monday. 1 full week was good I don't think I could have done it any earlier...unless you have someone to drive you around? The burping is normal I'm in week 3 and I still burp! No other issue though. Try to take it easy! -

Length of Your Pre-Op Liquid Diet?
Elode replied to HawaiianTexan's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@HawaiianTexan 2 weeks, BUT do what your Dr tells you to do. There are something's you can get from here but surgeons are different you can't rely of what someone else did...I say that so you don't stress when you read something different than what your surgeon has for you. -

AWESOME Turkey and brussel sprout meatballs
Elode replied to Shell88's topic in Regular foods (stage 4)
@@Shell88 Yes after about a week after surgery I was able to drink a whole one. When I started it would take me a good 30-40 mins but now I can drink one in 15-20 mins. I don't push it but I did/do mainly focus on fluids so it become easier each day. Water is still the HARDEST thing to get down,it takes longer than anything to drink! I don't know why but it does. I don't dislike the taste or anything it's just weird!
