    Just a few questions.

@@mcplu28 That's a good question but one that I don't think there is a simple answer for, I would think dedication, diet and exercise may be the issue but then again it may not be. I would just say don't worry about how much everyone else is or is not losing because we are all completely different so you can't base your presumed weight loss off anyone else's anyway. Look for result from your surgeons patients and the plan he/she has set for you. If you follow plan your plan and eat the foods you are suppose to eat and get some exercise in you will lose weight but how Much nobody knows.
  2. @@*Lexie* I am because I can't eat much! Ha! I'm a cheater!
  3. @@RiskyGirl21 I still eat watching tv (sometimes) but I have a permanently reminder in my brain to eat slow and watch the time. I put my fork down between bites...ect TV and eating has not been an issues but I'm always mindful. If you have hard time keeping up with that then I would just shut the TV off or move to a different area away from the TV.
  4. I don't know if it's more of a "realistic" issue as it is a willpower issue. Pre-op is not easy and it does Take some major willpower at times to make it through. Also avoiding food commercials, food images period can help. Out of sight out of mind (hopefully). Hang in there it won't last forever!
  5. I'm forever thankful for my husband who has been nothing but supportive not only of my surgery but of all major aspects in my life. I couldn't have picked a better partner to walk through this life with. God truly knows what he's doing (Thats not to say he cant be a big pain in my keister too....but we won't talk about that)...stay on topic..stay on topic...love him!

    The Horror of Cooking Recipes

@ Hi! I Read your post twice and I guess I just don't get it? You don't like seeing recipes and the finished product or just food in general? Cooking healthy doesn't mean you have to eat bland food. You are choosing to eat bland food? Why? Some of the healthiest natural foods are beautiful and delicious with out adding to them...fruit, vegetables, nice Cuts of meats. Why are you wanting to eat bland boring food? That's odd to me. It's ok to enjoy your food, food is life And it will ALWAYS be a part of your life. Maybe I just didn't understand what you were trying to say which is totally possible don't be so hard on your self! Food doesn't have to be your enemy.

  11. @@JenWith Lol! It is slow going at first! It will get better. If I catch myself eating longer than 30 mins I stop. I'm 3 weeks out and I can eat at a decent speed but just not much...maybe 2oz and I'm good! I still drink my protein drinks, I'm pretty sure that's the only reason why I'm not dragging butt! I have good energy and I take all my vitamins!

@@bangbangbarbie Eat! Drink lots of water! Buy some lead undies (lol). They usually do want you at 40 BMI without co-morbids but it also depends on your insurance co. I've even heard of people putting wrist weights in their bra lol!! Ps that would be cheating....I'm not telling you to cheat

    Sharp pains

@@sofianoemi You don't have a JP drain do you? I started having some sharp pains like that, I took my drain out (it had stopped working) and as soon as I did the pain went away. Oh PS: disclaimer; if you do have a JP I am in no way telling you to take yours out! I had permission on a Sunday from my surgeon because I'm in nursing and have dealt With JP drains. ????

@@shayshay24 I had surgery and was back at school in 7 days. I'm only taking a couple of classes so The longest I was in class was organic chem for 3 hours on tues. The first class was a little rough but after that I was good
  17. @@mnmlst Good question I was wondering the same thing. I have the same feeling in the morning and I'm 3 weeks out with a week of meds left. I'm going to ask for a refill For next month and then see what happens when I try to stop, maybe a week before I actually run out so I will know if I need more or not.
  18. @@jasminnegrin A few of my favorites are crab cakes, turkey meatballs, blended egg salad, ricotta cheese bake, and of course the refried beans with cheese, sour cream and a touch of hummus!

    Questions about post op pain

@@kimpossible67 I've had c-sections (3) and I asked that same question and got all the "oh it's not near as bad" well I can tell you the First moments directly after waking up were worse! For about 15min..the two days in the hospital I was on morphine but still had some pain (not too bad) first 2 days at home worse! I am not a medication taking person but after day two at home I called my surgeon and told Them the pain pills were pretty much worthless...they gave me another prescription for a much stronger pain pill and I was good after that. I think a lot of my issues also came from having a JP drain and staples. Now , after a week all the pain was pretty much gone. I was lucky not to have any gas ect...so I try not to complain, for me it was not "painless"'and I don't know why I ever thought it would be?! It's surgery! Glad it's over and glad I did it????
