What holiday favorites worked for you this season?
Elode replied to LipstickLady's topic in Regular foods (stage 4)
@@LipstickLady No I haven't tried that but I have horseradish sauce from my prime rib in the fridge so I may just do that tomarrow. -
Help. Sleeve was Monday. Feel like crap
Elode replied to jnfisher's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@jnfisher It def wouldn't hurt to let your surgeon know what's going on. Being hydrated is Really important so if you can't get fluids in then the Dr should know. If you take the two small sips and wait are you able to get a fair amount in, in a day? What are you drinking? Plain water was really hard for me to get Down in the beginning so I sipped on coconut water (it's a really good hydrator) maybe you can try that? -
Gallbladder removed and sleeved anyone?
Elode replied to Queen P's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
@@Queen P It very well could be. Thank goodness you have those weeks off! Hope you feel better soon -
Burning in stomach-help appreciated!
Elode replied to Dreamingofhealth's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I second what @@FrankiesGirl said! You should be fine taking a over the counter med until you can get ahold of your surgeon. I know the one time I forgot to take my PPI it was not pleasant. My surgeon has my refills set up for 3 month Increments, maybe yours will do the same? -

We did prime rib, and we bought one For the freezer. The only thing I can think of would be deviled eggs... -

@@Jason In Houston My husband and kids had to go back to school and work after I got home so they set me up a table next to my recliner with everything I needed...meds, heating pad, remote, phone, A big bowl of ice with my isopure ,water, and coconut water in it. I was good until they got back home. Plus it was easier to sit/sleep in my recliner.

Chewables will be your friend! Unless your just talking about medications. A pill crusher will be good, some medications aren't meant to be crushed and I don't know what your taking so ask your DR!

@@BloomingLotus You should be ok. I needed 2 years of a BMI over 40 and the highest it ever was in that two year was 36. I was approved the first time. Good luck!

Still having lap surgery gas pain at 3 weeks post? Suggestions?
Elode replied to Elizabeth21's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@Elizabeth21 My surgeon said the shoulder pain usually starts a few days after surgery. I had some but I punched my arm and it went away instantly (weird I know but it worked!) Disclaimer: I'm not telling YOU to punch your self...I don't want to be held responsible if your family finds you knocked out lol!!! -
@@Rtbrewer2 All insurance company's are different so I can't tell you an answer but you should have the insurance companies requirements it depends on what they Say. I would think you should still be ok especially if you Dr says you will be. He/she has probably seen a lot of cases and knows. Good luck!

@@lynziv It will probably take you some time. At day 4 I was all protien drinks and cocnute water. 30grams a shake but I still couldn't get in all in. Keep working on it. It should get easier.

@@Sapp28 You don't want to get the "I'm so full I could throw up feeling" that's a bad sign. I guess it all depends on what it is your eating. You may just be able to tolerate more food and that's ok if your eating the right things you aren't going to put on weight. It's probably too early out for you to know exactly how you will tolerate "real" food. Just take your time and don't push it. Good luck!

@@chelly12A I eat a lot of protein rich foods but I cook it all at home myself so I know how much seasoning is going on the food. If I get lunch Meats from the deli I get the low sodium version( cut thick to eat with cut up cheese) I weigh out my cheese so I know exactly how much I'm eating and I track everything with my lose-it app, that way I can keep an eye on the sodium intake also. It takes longer to cook everything from fresh but at least you have control that way. I also eat a lot of seafood shrimp, crab legs, boiled eggs, all have minimal amounts of salt.

That may be something you will have to keep retrying. The sleeve can be picky at times.

Protein and fluids is something you just have to continually work on. It will get easier over time. I eat 3oz per meal normally I Weigh everything with my scale. I don't really use a measuring cup. I track everything with my "lose it" tracker. 1/2 cup sounds about right. @@JenniferKnaack1113
