    I want to give up

@@katmaar If you don't already have something to blend with you can get the mini ninja blended/chopper at Walmart for 20 bucks. I really only used mine maybe 2-3 times though I mainly stuck with really soft foods. I hope this helps. I know it can be frustrating but take a breath and don't make it hard on yourself! Now, that will be enough of that "giving up" nonsense!!ha!

    I want to give up

Ricotta bake was one of my favorites, along with refried beans and homemade crab cakes ( these things are already soft so you don't need to blend them) my stage was purée /mushy combined. Look at it that way not everything had to go into A blender.

    I want to give up

@@katmaar No that's exactly the opposite of what you need to do. Purée food is just that, food that's puréed. You can Have egg salad, tuna salad, any soup, chili, mashed potatoes, cottage cheese, applesauce, heck just about anything. Don't worry about the calories ect...so much at this point your not going to be able to eat enough for it to really matter..( I wouldn't eat a bunch of sugar though) just make what ever you like and blend it up. Heck eat baby food if you need too. Some is actually yummy! If you need to add unflavored protein to the mix do it. If you can get your protein from shakes ect...Then don't worry about adding it into the blend. Just eat!
  4. @@ChronicJam I just made a post about this. Sounds like your doing well. I'm 2 1/2 months out and I Get 800 max.
  5. I just made a post about this, it varies. I'm on the low end as far as sugar I get maybe 20 grams a week where as the recommended daily amount is 25 Grams a DAY. I had a real issue with sugar so I completely cut added sugar out of my diet (I'm probably a bit extreme so don't try to follow me) My protein is good 90+ grams a day. I guess it really just depends on what your surgeon or NUT recommends for you.@@ShellBell628
  6. @@Kramer17 I love that show! I also like "fat vs skinny"'I like all weight loss shows! Except for biggest loser because they are Showing unrealistic results....unless you don't work, have a personal trainer, chief, and can workout 8 hours a day! But yay for them!
  7. @ No, I haven't tried that because of my NUT and her "protein first" Moto. I don't see her anymore though. She really didn't teach me ANYTHING! Nice but thats about it! I get a lot of my information on here too so I'm glad you are getting tips and enjoying the site!
  8. @@BLERDgirl I sounds Like your plan is doing quit well for you! I guess we are all doing pretty darn well since we are losing! My goal should be to try to eat more real food and wing myself off the shakes like you have! I really like mY shakes though and they make my numbers look so pretty

    So overwhelmed...

I take all those vitamins plus a super b complex. Don't be afraid to demand (in a nice way) that they give you better instruction. That's what they are being paid to do. I wouldn't hesitate for one moment letting them know hey, you gave me this information already and I need a little more clarification! Maybe I'm just a big mouth or have been in healthcare to long but get the answers you need. You just had a life changing surgery and you don't want to potentially hurt yourself because of a lack of education on their part! A major part of our job a healthcare workers is to educate our patients. You are new to this and you can't be expected to know everything, do your own research yes, but they should be available to Answer any questions you have. Write your self a list of questions and call the office, make a appointment whatever, but get the answers you need and deserve! Ok off the soapbox now!

    Not Losing Weight

Yes it can be. Your body needs time to catch up. Give yourself some time.
  13. Sounds like your doing just fine.
  14. Sound reasonable. I was back in school ect..after a week.
  15. Well ok then!! Hey if it works, enjoy!!

    Pumpkin pie

    Good!
  18. @@evanter It does get better. The length of time before it does varies with each individual. After surgery and now if you can, make sure your taking your vitamins. Especially the B's to help you with your energy. I'm not going to lie you will probably be a little tired in the beginning but stay on your fluids and protein and you will be back in business before you know it. Take your time off to rest your body as much as you can. It's ok to be "lazy" just sleep when you need to. I was back in action at a week post-op. Good luck!

    Just a bit about me

Congrats on the weight loss so far! Welcome!@@zaptearNH
  20. Well I take that back I eat avocado and technically it's a fruit so I guess I don't eat vegetables! Goodness! Maybe this is worse then I thought!
  21. @@VSGAnn2014 Wow! I haven't even had a piece of fruit in almost 3 months! I think they drove in the whole " protein first" bit a little too hard. Thats what all my information and pamphlets say. My NUT said to Make my plate, eat my protein and then if there's any room left eat the other foods. The problem is there's never any room left so I'm almost purely protein. Now they want to switch it up on me....confusing!
  22. @@SuperDave Do you have that yucky ketosis metal taste in your mouth?! I'm so over that nasty taste! I figured it would go away but it's been two months and it's still there!! I think if I were to eat a fair amount of carbs it would probably go away...for awhile. I don't want to eat carbs though! Not like that!
  23. @@SuperDave Funny we have the same diet practically. It is odd to hear a Dr (or anyone) Say to eat more. I'm sure I could if I just really made myself. I'm also not getting as much exercise as I should, when I start working out more I will put more focus on eating. I don't want to stall myself. I guess I won't really know since I only weigh maybe twice a month. My clothes are lose and I can see the changes in the mirror.
  24. Ok so I'm doing ok then...@@SuperDave you and I are pretty close my surgery was 11/3. I finally got up to 800 calories but that's With two shakes and a quest bar that's 510 of the calories. 80 grams of protein. Then I eat some food usually 2 egg whites, turkey bacon and 1/4 avocado. Then dinner is usually 2oz grilled chicken with 1/2 boiled egg, or some seafood. I round out to 90+ grams of protein. I don't have any apatite but my surgeon wants me to up my calories to 11-1200 and he said to eat carbs. I only get about 10 max net carbs a day if that but once I eat the protein I don't feel like eating anything else. I've only had 18 grams of sugar in 5 days. I read that the average recommended amount of sugar is 25 grams a DAY! I don't feel bad at all and I'm obviously not tired. I've lost 32 lbs now. I guess I shouldn't worry about it, I don't worry about weight as much as my overall health from the food and nutrients I am getting or lack thereof. I drink all my fluids + I'm just curious as to what people are doing.
