I am constantly amazed at how little food I can live on.
Elode replied to LipstickLady's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I love the salad bar too. I usually get that While the rest of the family go to the drive through. My last visit to the bar was $2.08. I'm a cheap date for my hubs now. Instead of our fancy date nights at a nice restaurant I buy clothes or fun jewelry. Soooo much more rewarding and it last longer! I don't think I have a "food addiction" I was just hungry all the time. I also quit smoking cold turkey after smoking a pack a day for 6 + years , no problem. Maybe we are either really strong willed or plain lucky? -
Meal planning after surgery with a foodie spouse.
Elode replied to Hoven's topic in Food and Nutrition
@@Hoven I've turned in to a "I don't care" person when it comes to food. I use to call my husband everyday at work and ask him what he wanted for dinner, either cook or plan take out. Now I don't call anymore. He calls me and I always say the same thing "I don't care" I'm not going to eat it anyway. Ha! I eat I just don't eat hardly anything they eat. I still cook for them though. I'm one of the few who doesn't have hunger so food is of no interest to me anymore. Even when we go out to eat I don't even order any thing I just eat a few bits off the family's plate and I'm good. It takes some getting use to. Eating out was always a big deal in my family, I will go with them just to be with them but the food is not anything I care about. I freaking love it though! It's amazing when I think about how I Use to be about food and how I am now. It's a miracle! -
@@hstrayorn I ate in my room during pre-op (no hunger after so no issue there) My husband and kids where very forgetful about leaving junk on the counters in my line of view so after awhile I started hiding all their crap, they eventually got sick of looking for it and decided to keep things put up. Amazing how well that worked!

Dizzy.....for weeks. Fainted tonight.
Elode replied to Thinkingthinner1109's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I eat 800 calories a day. I have not stopped losing weight and I'm never dizzy. You need to eat. Not only will not eating enough make you dizzy but it will eventually cause you to stop losing weight. Just eat the Right things and you don't have to worry. It could also be other issues, it's a good thing your going to see your DR. -

Did BCBS Federal approve protein shakes from insure nutrition?

For the people actively Losing weight that track food...
Elode posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
How far along are you? How many calories do you average? How many (net) carbs? (If you don't know net then just carbs in general) In a day. I know everyone is different with different recommendations I'm just curious as to the numbers. ( I say "actively"because I know some people are in maintenance, I say "losing" but I'm aware of stalls so it still counts if you are In the process!!!). Thank you kindly in advance!!! -

@@Countrygrrl Ok good! Don't end up on wives with knives! My husband would never have any Outings with another woman (not if he wanted to keep his face attached to his body) out of respect for me and vise versa but like you said they have a "arrangement" that makes it ok for them thats fine whatever. I hope they have brains enough to understand that "most" people value having a monogamous relationship and interfering in that could get them hurt. Like over here at the Mason's house. I will cut a bi*ch to say it nicely! I'm glad your figuring it all out! I knew you would.

No! No! And No! None of this sounds right. "Open" marriage? What?! Open as in they tell each other everything? Thats the only way "Open" is appropriate in a marriage! I am telling you, you DO NOT want to cheat in order to end a relationship! Don't even waste your time with that "thought". Not only is it a horrible thing to do to another human but it's setting you up for failure. God doesn't like ugly! Nothing good comes from ending a relationship in that way. If You don't want to be with this man after 15 years for whatever reasons then fine that's your choice as a grown adult but at least try to do it in a amicable way. I don't know your life and I sure don't know your man or what he's done to you to make you even consider these things BUT as crappy as he may be, people can only do to you what you allow them to do. Remove yourself from the situation. If you are that miserable chances are he's not over there whistling Dixie! If you end it in a mature way you will probably be doing both of you a favor in the end (even if it takes some time passing to realize it). It's nice to feel "wanted" and be sent nice messages and have coffee "dates" I get it but it means a hell of a lot more when your single and the person showing all this interest is single too. It sounds like you have enough stress in your life at the moment, don't add to your misery by conjuring up crazy thoughts! Take some YOU time. I'm sending you well wishes and I wish you all the best. Do what you know is right morally and make decisions you are comfortable living with. Good luck!!! Oh and PS I don't buy into the whole weight loss causing "affairs" who-ha! I LOVE and am IN love with my husband Fat, skinny, ect.. No amount of fat or lack thereof is going to change what's in my heart for my husband. In fact there wasn't any talk about weight or pounds of fat in any of our wedding vowels! :)

Well I did good with the first drink but then I got a hard peice in my second one so my chia seed days are officially over. I tried. It's def a texture issue. I probably shouldn't have used the flea termnalogy because now my daughter won't drink it either.....;(

Hello! I bought some chia seeds this week (for nutritional purposes) and after researching them a little more I began to wonder if it was even ok for us to have seeing as how they swell in the stomach? Does anyone eat these? If so how do you prepare them? I added to tablespoons to my shake and let it sit overnight...disgusting! I had to dump it. Do they ever get completely soft? I wanted to drink them after adding them but the texture reminds me of drinking something like fleas....I can't handle that! Any suggestions would be great! Thank you in advance! I hope everyone is doing beautifully!

Probably the millionth hair question but.....
Elode replied to Elode's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wanted to grow my hair out about a year ago so when I was researching it I read that people where putting monistat 7 (yes, vag cream) on the scalp to help with growth. They actually had a "monistat challenge" I tried it and it actually did work BUT it's time consuming and cost. Weird...I know. -
Probably the millionth hair question but.....
Elode posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm sure this question is on here somewhere but I'm going to be a pain and ask it again. If you have lost or are losing hair when did it start? I'm trying to see if there is average time. I am 3 months Out now and I haven't lost any extra hair. I hope I'm just "lucky" but I'm also prepared for it to go (I have a rather cute hair style picked out just in case.) I've been getting 100+ grams of protein in since week 2. I eat 800 calories a day, take all my vitamins including biotin since before surgery. I honestly don't workout hardly at all (I know bad) but I have great weight loss so far And feel good. Things are shaping up as far as skin bounce back but I will start working out soon. Sometimes I wonder if hair loss is worsened by the calories/nutrient restriction and then adding a lot of exercise on top of that makes you burn even more of the limited calories putting you further into a calorie deficient ....I don't know I'm not a hair expert and that's not why I haven't worked out as much , it's a combo of busy/lazy. I'm on it, in fact I've started by wearing some lovely yoga pants today (it's a start just warming up for the real deal, baby steps...comfortable baby steps :)I'm just curious as to when it all started to come out if at all. Thank you in advance! -
