  6. What a yucky situation! It's hard if you don't have a job and insurance to be able to have the surgery. The surgery isn't cheap so if your husband says no then does that mean you can't do it? I'm sorry he's being a jerk! I don't work at this time (back in college) but luckily me husband supports me and any decisions I make. I guess you have a couple options you can A) come clean and ask him for the support and money (doesn't seem likely) He can come home and find out you have a job and don't need his A** for anything , that may shut him up? There's power in being independent. You won't need permission for anything. I don't know that's just hard if you don't have the means to support yourself. So is he saying and acting this way because he figures if you don't have a job then you have plenty of time to work on getting healthy? That's what I'm getting from his comments.
  7. @@CanyonBaby No I feel great! I'm happy! My brain is functioning well because I'm still making the grades! My labs were spot on! I fell good over all, everything is functioning that's why I'm wondering how. I usually eat a quest bar for breakfast, go to school (college) for a few hours, drink water. I get home and have a shake. Hang out with the family...eat a small dinner (usually 1/2 cup) Study and somewhere in the night I have another quest bar or shake. I do take all my vitamins religiously and I do drink a ton of water food just doesn't interest me so much. I have energy. I'm sure my hunger will kick in somewhere down the road. I had my surgery here with a award winning bariatric and trauma surgeon So I don't think he's the problem. he doesn't seem worried about it even at this last appointment I told him I haven't changed anything as far as eating more or even wanting to and he wasn't freaking out. Our bodies can do some pretty amazing things so I'm not worried about it. If I start to have any issues or symptoms I will defiantly check it out. So no worries for me! I feel the best I ever have!
  8. Your medications should absorb just fine since you had the sleeve you didn't alter your small intestine in any way. Go ahead and ask your Surgeon since I don't know your exact meds.
  9. I am allowed to have them on occasion. You will just need to clear it with your surgeon.

  16. @@tamg26k There are some programs that will cover the protien shakes. I never used them but I know some have.
  17. I just got them! So far I've tried the multivitamin (not bad) and the b-12 spray. It kinda freaked me out, I didn't know the liquid was red so when I sprayed it in my nose some red came out. I thought I was bleeding!! They should warn a person about that! Geez!
  18. You should at least have chewable In the beginning stages. I switched to pill form at 3 months.
  19. It totally depends on how your sleeve behaves. My baby is a hot mess! Sometimes it will let me eat well and sometimes she like "nope not today sister". It's ever changing for me.

    Social Dinners

I usually just eat off my families plates, that would probably be weird for your friends though lol! I have also don't the appetizer when with girl friends but I was about 4 months post op at the time and they knew already. A bowl of soup may be easier in the beginning stages.
