What was the hardest part of your decision?
Nicole Cloud replied to ambwolfe's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The hardest part for me was going against my father's wishes and actually having the surgery done, because he was completely against it even though my mom was completely supportive. -

Starting to get nervous!
Nicole Cloud replied to pittielover74's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This is totally normal you will want to go shopping before hand because after your surgery energy is at like a zero. you will want to get Protein powder or premade depending on how you plan on getting that in, also just some ideas SF. Jello , broth, SF. popsicles, I also drank quite a bit of crystal lite to get in my fluids because I could not tolerate regular Water for a while, And 100% juice. The first week out expect to have no energy this actually lasted for me about 3 weeks just make sure you get your walking in to prevent blood clots and lessen gas pains. Also I had really bad acid reflux after my surgery so my surgeon put me on chewable acid blockers and without them I don't know what I would have done. I also felt regret during the first few weeks but it is worth it in the long run it is just a struggle at first Let me know if you have any more questions -

3 days out - protein?
Nicole Cloud replied to chrispina's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I could not handle any protein shakes at all until about 2 months out they just didn't agree with my pouch. my surgeon told me just to do my best, but not to force it and make myself sick so if I were you yes protein is important but I would wait it out till you can have full liquids -

I had my sleeve a week after my 20th birthday, and I would not change a thing I want to get the most out of my life and my obesity was holding me back. obesity, hypothyroidism, and diabetes run very heavily in my family and have always concerned me, and since my surgery my thyroid levels have leveled so I am now off of all medications, and do not feel there was a better choice for me. Also with being so young I feel I am getting the most out of my surgery because I can be active and do things I might not have been able to if I had waited till I was older When I do have children I would support them in any way possible it would ultimately be their decision if bariatric surgery was something needed for them. I do not feel an age should be put on it because I may be young but I know what I want out of life and I made this commitment to better myself for myself and I will do the same for future children if they ever believe they need bariatric surgery. -
So what do you do about pants?
Nicole Cloud replied to snarkychef's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I went to thrift shops also recruited some family for hand me downs and bought yoga pants that were tight so I could grow into them and they fit a while longer than others I had tried -

Hi guys... new to this site Help!
Nicole Cloud replied to Castle coburg's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had a hard lump as well but mine was off to my left side under my incision I thought it was a hernia but my surgeon said it is normal round your largest incision, and the swelling had just dropped, sure enough it went away no problems now. just curious how old is your daughter I think it is awesome you guys did this together what a great support team. as far as her vomiting is she using any protein drinks or anything like that because my sleeve would not tolerate shakes so I waited till puree and soft food and I get in my protein with no suppliments hope this helps let me know if you have any more questions best of luck to you both -

Surgery Scheduled 11/17/14...Any last minute tips?
Nicole Cloud replied to ksdrn12's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
stock up on Protein shakes sugar free popsicles and sugar free Jello, because after the surgery energy level is like a zero so shopping ahead of time is a really good idea. also you will probably want to take a firm pillow with you not nessicarily for the hospital room, but for the ride home. best of luck -
