Anyone got some good ideas (puree) diet.
Nicole Cloud replied to Williams3909's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I did a lot of chili with no beans blended for the protein content, also I did a lot from the liquid stage popsicles and jello because I had no appetite whatsoever -
How much do you walk?
Nicole Cloud replied to Livitup's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
at least 5 minutes for every hour sitting to avoid blood clots. your energy level at this point is reallllly low so just focus on your protein and water intake and slowly you will build up the energy to go for longer walks just know if you have pain to stop and don't push it to much -
Protein substitutions
Nicole Cloud replied to Sleevedmommy28's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
just hang in there I could not do any powder or premixed protein. once you get to solid food you can try some low sugar protein bars which taste a lot better and seem to digest better at least for me they did. when you have no more restrictions with your food ie. solid, soft, pureed you may find it is better for you to get your protein from food with no supplements this is where I am now and I am getting close to my goals each day my NUT says that I am doing fine with my protein and everything seems normal so you have a lot of choices good luck -
ALMOST 2 WEEKS POST OP AND FEELING MAJOR REGRET
Nicole Cloud replied to D.Lo's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
it does get better hang in there I had feelings of regret as well after my surgery being only 20 and having the surgery was not easy nor is it easy at any age. as for the restriction you will slowly be able to take in more but you always have to listen to your body and know when to stop. as for dinners try to just sit with your family and talk about your day make it more about conversation than food and soon you will be eating with them even if it is something different. you can do it and in the end I hope your regrets go away best of luck let me know if you have any questions -
Anyone coming from VSG revising to a RNY?
Nicole Cloud replied to fullhandsfullheart's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I would just stick with the plan the diet and exercise, and watch to see if there is any difference because no one wants another surgery especially after going from band to sleeve. -
Feeling Guilty 4 days out
Nicole Cloud replied to SahndraLynne's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
everyone is different I still can digest protein shakes at 3 months and water has to be spread out through the day I cant drink large amounts but that is awesome your body was allowing it because right after surgery it is essential to get in the liquids -
keep you head up just continue with the program and maybe try some new exercises to get the scale moving
-
if you have already started your pre op diet I would stay away from it just so you don't jeopardize having your surgery pushed back it is not worth it

international travel post op
Nicole Cloud replied to borg/assimilated's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
listen to the nurse and surgeon they are only looking out for your best interest I would defiantly not travel if they said not to. I would go through with the surgery as planned in December then hold off for the 3 months because no one wants to get started on approval for surgery then be held back plus think of how much better you will feel and look when you do get to see your son. best of luck hope this helps -
post op time off from work
Nicole Cloud replied to time for june's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was told about 3 weeks before returning to my job I work at the front desk of a hotel. I did however hold off for a few extra weeks just because I had no energy whatsoever, but as long as you are able to get up and move around a bit while at work and you have the energy to do so 3 weeks minimum for office work. -
Good luck

People Treat You Differently
Nicole Cloud replied to deelavi's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If people treat me different so be it, because no matter what people will always judge a book by its cover. my main focus was on the people I knew would love me either fat or skinny or in between which is close friends and family. -
It is normal, but if you start to have any pain from the constipation I was told by my surgeon you can take a dulcolax suppository

Congrats on your loss so far!!! I started at just over 300 at the weight of 316 on the day I went in for surgery and I am 2 and a half months out and am down to 247. I know you are ready to get out of the 300 I was feeling the same way at 316, but just keep up the good work and the weight will follow you will be in the 200s in not time best of luck to you

Carbs... When to Introduce them (The Good Ones!)
Nicole Cloud replied to newbiesleever's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am about 3 months out , but was told by my surgeon at about 2 and a half months some of these good carbs can be tested to see how your sleeve does with them. I was told to hold off on bread unless it is toasted because the doughy texture does not sit well in your sleeve, but I was fine with toast, and crackers just making sure to take small bites and always get protein first. I have not attempted any rice I thought along with bread I would wait for the 3 month mark. hope this is helpful -
One month and still have incisional pain
Nicole Cloud replied to sweethime's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am almost 3 months in and still have some pain, but mainly when I exercise but I would say if it continues or gets worse to go see your surgeon he or she may be able to find out why this is happening. -

You are so lucky to have the support in going through this journey it is going to help you out so much. Nerves are to be expected, but you just have to have faith and go into it saying im taking my life back, because that is ultimately what this whole process is about. good for you finding Protein supplements ahead of time I should have followed through on that. It is a hard journey im not gonna lie, but once you are healed it is completely worth it. Best of luck to you and your new life let me know if you have any questions id be happy to help
