:omg: OM Goodness, I was going through the samething and I thought it was because I was pregnant and that the band was some how being pulled or pushed out of place. There was a place under my right ribbs that was tender to the touch. Well after my Pregnancy I was still throwing up almost everything, I also began to think maybe I am going to have to get this taken out. Well last month (Jan 21st 07) I was having really bad chest, back,and jaw pain and I thought it was gas. Well it ended up being my gall blader and it was removed. I also thought that maybe my band could have cause it. My Surgen said that my stones were very big and it was obvious that I had had them for years and years. I was banded in July of 04, So I know it did not have anything to do with my gall bladder. Now that my G/B is out I have had no problem what so ever, infact now I need to go and get a fill, because now the only problem I am having is being able to eat EVERYTHING!! I do not know how or why it was effecting my ability to swallow or eat but it did. The surgen did say that becuase of my G/B everything around it was swollen. Hope this helps Eddra

Hi Tracy, I'm still banded and I plan to return to weight watchers because one it will be a lot easier now that I'm banded and two I really like the way of eating. I do not feel deprived of anything. So good luck!

Hello, where are you having it done? The 26th is my b-day and in a way it will be yours too, Your Happy b-day to the Bandsters world. Everyone has beat me to the punch on all the medical stuff to take. I took my portable cd/dvd player because I was to nervous to read and the TV station were all in spanish (even though I understand spanish perfectly) I listened to my music and watched a few movies. Oh and slip on and off shoe like some sippers or sandles, Dummy me took tennis shoes and had to tie them ouch! Good luck. Keep us posted. Eversoqute

Hello Cathy 1102, I went to Mexico because our Military insurance recently changed and the new insurance company would not approve me to have the surgery and yes you are right it is much much cheaper there. Here it would have been anywere from 17,000 to 23,000 and in TJ Mexico I paid 9,500 That included the procedure after care and a three night stay at a 5 star hotel. Good luck with your insurance company. Mine sucked! Eddra

Question for those of you recently banded: Do any of you remember if Swiss Miss chocolate mix (that you mix with water) is allowed the first few days? I had some today (my third day) and I am wondering if that's alright. My first band doctor said it was and I can't get a hold of the nutritionist until Monday, so I thought I'd see what you all have to say here. Hello Mae, I was also banded by Doctor Ortiz on 7-29-05 and as for the chocolate I was told nothing but clear liquids. And on the Eight day I could add Yogurt. Did you have to pay the full price for getting rebanded? Hope this helps. Eddra
