  1. Yeah, I don't even get to Fredericksburg until 6:00 most nights. I'd be hard pressed to even get there in time. Thanks for the possitive thoughts on the endo.
  2. Kiz, when is that meeting? I work in DC, so going to Richmond on a worknight is a deal-breaker. Do you know who the PS is?

    Ring Sizes

I agree with waiting. How long until the marriage? Maybe get the ring in the one size smaller if you want to get the sale and then you should be set. You could wait until it fits to wear it, then put a guard in it when it getst too loose until you are close enough to goal to have it resized. My ring size went from a 6 to a 4-3/4 after losing just shy of 80 pounds. Congrats to you!

What are the symptoms of band erosion?

Heartburn is a common symptom. My doctor fixed a hiatal hernia during my band surgery in Jan 08. It was amazing, zero hearburn for over a year. Then in Oct of last year, after a fill, I started getting heartburn. No reflux, just a dry burn. Well, after umpteen adjustments, my restriction is perfect, but the heartburn continues. My bariatric doc said the band looks perfect with fluro, but my GP said he wants to see the inside. This will require taking Fluid out of my band, putting camera down my throat, then putting fluid back in. I'm certain this will totally mess with my restriction and cause me many more adjustments....I'm dreading this. More importantly, what could it be if my band isn't too tight and hasn't slipped? (we have this confirmed via fluro) GP thinks maybe an ulcer...... Would that affect my band? I would die if I lost my band. Anyone else have this happen to them?
  5. Thanks Mimi, you're a sweetheart. Doc wants to do an endoscopy now because I have unexplained heartburn. I don't want to do it as I finally have my band at perfect restriction. Dang....

    Couch to 5k.....come join me!!

Yeah Kathy!!! GREAT pics. Way to go! GA, glad you're keeping at it. It appears that I'm not going to get past week 6 until after my surgery. When I do the 25 straight minutes of running, my foot really complains. It's frustrating and running with limitations is sooooo hard. When I was training for a race, it kept me motivated but knowing I'm just running makes it feel a whole lot like being a hampster on a wheel. :-(

    Betrayal is a BITCH

Tina, So sorry to hear about the crazy bitch. My daughter is going through something very similar. You were right not to respond to her. As for you and him, I'd say just keep your eyes open, your ear to the ground, and pay attention if you get any red flags. Sometimes when things are going great, we'll sweep red flags right under the rug and chalk it up to paranoia. I'm sure your guy is on the up-and-up, but do yourself a favor, keep going with your current path, but just be watchful. By the way, my daughter set me up on FB. I'm new to it and get to it through my iPhone. I'm not too good with it, but if you find me, friend request me!

Ha Tina, love the pics. You two are a hot couple. Doesn't hurt to have the last laugh either, eh?
  9. Thanks Mimi, I wish I could honestly say I surpassed my goal, but I actually changed it. I'm deadlocked at this weight and my doc convinced me to change my goal. I've been within a 3 pound range for almost a year now. Dr. JLo, thanks for the imput. I'll check into it and hopefully find a good PS. lbndoc, thanks for the tip. I thought about not drying it as well in hopes it will show back up, but nothing yet. ha ha
  10. Thanks for responding! I have an appointment with my GP this Friday and wouldn't you know, the dang rash is going away on its own! I deliberatly didn't treat it so I would have something to show him......go figure....

Five minutes of brisk walking should do the trick. Don't forget to cool down for five minutes as well as stretch after your run.
  12. I'm almost 2 years out and I wear 6's and 8's depending on the day.

    Ask Dr. Schulman...

Hi, I have only remotely considered PS since I assumed I couldn't get approved by ins and I don't have major overlapping skin. I've lost 78 pounds in about a year and maintained my weight for 9 months now. Although I have lots of saggy skin and some bulges I'd love to live without, I haven't had any problems with rashes, etc. until now. I'm getting a rash in my bellybutton. I know how to get rid of it and I have the proper cream, but I'm asking myself if I should see a doctor to start documenting for possible PS in the future. Two questions, could this small rash qualify me for a TT? If so, can I see my GP for it? We have a derm shortage where I live and it takes MONTHS to get an appt. I'd hate to have to walk around with this painful itchy rash for that long just to show it to him! Thanks!

krtork, Thanks and enjoy your run today. I did W5D2 last night. I had to push myself to do it, but as usual was so glad I did. Still having some knee and hip pain, but hoping I can hold out until Nov. I do plan to run up to the day before surgery. I did that before, but I won't try to run any 5ks until spring. :-(

    Can You Feel The Band?

I don't feel the band, but feel my port everytime I touch my stomach, even through my clothes.
  16. Are you sure you can crush the pills? Capsules and other pills are often designed to be time released. Pills that are scored can be cut, but it is my understanding that if they aren't scored then you shouldn't cut them. Just be careful. A spoonfull of applesauce may help you get them down.

    Couch to 5k.....come join me!!

Nothing has helped my stomach more than running. I've tried every exercise out there and it took running to finally begin to flatten my stomach. I'm going to try to keep running until my surgery, but I don't know if I'm going to make it off of week 5 day 1. I'm going to try W5D2 tonight but my knee and hip are really kicking up a fuss. I know it has to be because I favor that one foot. I just don't want to give up entirely. Surgery will be the week before Thanksgiving. I hope to be back on the program by New Year's, when I'll start over.....again....:tt1: Nancysnead --- sounds like you and DH need to have a come to Jesus talk. Maybe you should post your thread, with some puncutation, in the Lap-Band Talk Lounge section of this forum since your comments weren't realated to running or C25K. Good luck to you.

    Couch to 5k.....come join me!!

Congrats krtork! Brandy, does the hip hop podcast tell you when to run and when to walk? Can you post a link to it? Well, the doc said I have to have more surgery on my foot. Nov 17th. I'm bummed out but hopeful that this will fix it once and for all. I'll keep trying to run between now and then, but it's been hard on my knees due to my altered gait. I didn't run Wed and Fri last week, so I'm going to start week 5 day 1 again tonight.

    Betrayal is a BITCH

I'm in! Tina, where can we see this Adonis? Didn't you say he was a bouncer? What club does he bounce at? Maybe we could meet up there one weekend!

    Couch to 5k.....come join me!!

GA - so glad to hear that you are keeping the headaches at bay. We are both starting C25K over, but I am little ahead of you, for now. I'm finding I feel more impatient this time. I don't like the music on the podcast, but I do like hearing him tell me when to run and when to walk, etc. I'm on week 4 now. I go to see the doc next Friday so hopefully I'll know more about my prognosis then. Yay GA! Mcrowder - Good for you for starting the program. Don't worry if you have to repeat weeks before moving on, you'll get there. The most important thing is to keep at it!

Tina - so happy to hear things are going your way. Happy Birthday! My birthday is next Sunday, the 13th. So when do we get to see pics of this Prince Charming?

    Couch to 5k.....come join me!!

For me it was seeing results. When I was dieting before my band and trying to work out I never saw results of my workouts. Sure I felt better, but zero changes in my body so I always ended up giving up. I actually didn't exercise post band until I had lost a significant amount of my weight. I decided to wait until I got stuck and then use the exercise to push to the next level. I HATE the gym, arobic tapes, bikes, etc. So I tried C25K. By the time I reached week 9, I have to admit, I didn't lose any more weight, but I was in a size SIX and my stomach was getting so much flatter. I was so motivated, the more I ran, the more amazing I looked and felt. Then I had to have surgery on my foot and the flab came back so fast and I had to go back to my size 8's. I'm still having foot problems, but the doc is letting me run on it for now to see how it does. I may need more surgery, but much to my delight, I am OBSESSED with being able to run again, because I want that body back! That's just me....:frown: Also, I liked the way C25K was structured and I liked being on a set schedule, not wanting fall behind kept me going. Another great motivator is to sign up for a 5k race in your area and then train for it! Best of luck and congrats on getting your band.

    A narrowing?!

Actually the message board is the best place to ask questions. First of all, we don't know where her parents are or if she lives at home. I was living on my own at 18. More than likely they aren't educated/experienced with the band anyway. Secondly, why are you so freaking bitter? She's not hurting anyone, just asking valid questions about her band and her health. Thirdly, This board is for support, if you feel a need to attack someone, go someplace else. Erin, How are you feeling? Better I hope.
