    Betrayal is a BITCH

Tina, Best of luck to you on the surgery. You will look amazing and feel even more amazing once you're all healed. I know you'll do well. You're young and healthy and there are so many on here that have had PS with no problems. Good job on not caving in to the guilt trip your EX-husband (you need to get used to putting that ex in there) is trying to put you on. Sure he's sorry, but he's sorry that he got caught, not sorry he did it. Apparently he wanted his cake and eat it too. Now he has to take care of himself and watch his hot soon to be ex-wife move on with her life. Too bad for him. At least he's trying to be a good dad. Enjoy yourself, you deserve it! I can't wait to see your after pics!

    Betrayal is a BITCH

Hey Tina, I was wondering where you were. Glad to hear things are going your way! You are doing so well. I'm proud of you. Sounds like your group of friends are fun and supportive and that's what you need to surround yourself with. Don't worry about EX-DH, he made his bed and now he has to lie in it. Its nice that you care and want to get along for the kid's sake, but as for feeling bad for him because he's sorry he got caught - seriously? Keep up the good work and enjoy yourself. You deserve it. Keep us posted!!!

    Hypoglycemia???

Thanks Bear. I may have to try that. I had a really bad sugar spell yesterday, probably one of my worst ever and I'm still feeling the effects of it. Can't seem to get stablized now. I think I'll skip my run tonight and try to get back on track before my Wed run.
  5. Good for you Jon. This is a real life changing experience and will easily be the best thing you ever did for yourself. Can't wait to hear from you more as you progress through this journey.

    71 & anxious for banding 3/26

Wow, Diana, Congrats! I think it's amazing that you are doing this at 71. You'll probably feel 10 years younger when you get some of the weight off! When is your surgery date?

    This is weird

I noticed the same thing about my 9 pound dog. LOL So what does restriction with the sleeve feel like compared to the band?
  8. Jon, You are on the right track. LapBand has given so many a new lease on life. If you read the threads on this site, you will see a lot of success stories. The band seems to work for most, although it doesn't work for all. If you are committed to some behavior changes, which the band makes easier than you might think, then I say GO FOR IT! You have your whole life ahead of you and you deserve to live it, not sit on the sidelines. Best of luck to you.

    Hypoglycemia???

I agree wtih Bear's advice. I've been hypolglycemic for 20 years. Mine actually improved as I was losing weight, but I have been struggling with it for the past few weeks. I hate to say it but I think it may be related to exercise. Bear, are you working out? If so, what do you eat before working out and how close to workout time? I've started running and I eat 1/2 banana and a small protien bar and seem to do OK, but yesterday, I had one of my worst sugar drops ever. I'm still "hung over" from it today. :-(
  10. tcbgirl, Don't worry about the surgery, it is extremly low risk. You could die from anything, look at Natasha Richardson. However, if you look at statistics, your chances are EXTREMLY high that your surgery will be a perfect success. You probably have a better chance of getting hit by lightning than for your surgery to have fatal complications. Most of all, the surgery is NOT bad at all. I am CEO of the Big Babies Club and I did great! It's a piece of cake. Not much different than getting your wisdom teeth pulled. The risks of being obese are FAR higher than the risk of surgery. You should seriously be more afraid of being overweight because chances of that having serious complications are rather high. You'll do fine. If you're crazy nervous, ask your doctor for something to calm you down before your surgery. I always ask for a  double :beer_yum:when the anesthesiologist comes in! LOL You'll do great and this will easily be the best thing you've ever done for yourself! Congrats for taking the first step. Also, just to give you something to look forward to, I've gone from a size 20 to a size 6 in barely over a year.

    Lap Band with Hypoglycemia ?

What is falling apart? Have you submitted to ins yet? I got denied the first time through and had to appeal and was approved then. They make us work for it sure, but you'll get there! Keep me posted!
  12. Pat yourself on the back for taking that first step! You haven't given up and you still have your band there to help you, you just have to use it! Have you made an apointment with your doctor? You should def get a fresh start with a new fill. Also are there support groups in your area? I prefer this site for support, but some folks benefit from face to face meetings. Where do you live? I'm in VA and work in DC.
  13. It's never too late with the band. Call your doctor, schedule a fill. Join WW or your favorite weight loss group if they help keep you motivated. Come on LBT as often as possible. It HELPS! I've heard stories like yours before that ended in success. You can do it!!!!

    Lap Band with Hypoglycemia ?

Kap, extra weith def contributes to hypoglycemia, so it should actually be yet another argument FOR the surgery, not against. Best of luck to you.

Can my body really become a small size?

I started out at 225 and 5'4.5". I was a size 20. My doc set a goal of 150 for me but I want to reach 135 in order to get in the middle of the healthy BMI range. I'm at 147 and a size 6. I bought a bunch of 6s and yet I still recheck the tag everytime I go to the bathroom or change clothes! LOL I actually feel like an imposter when I take 6s to the dressing room. I never thought I'd be this size, I was really aiming for a 10 or as a pipe dream an 8, now I'm thinking I can get to a 4 if I set my mind to it! My 21 year old daughter is a size 4! She actually gave me a pair of her PJ pants that I admired, while she was wearing them. They FIT ME, I couldn't believe it! You'll get there!

    Couch to 5k.....come join me!!

Mac and krtork - Congrats! Kathy and Lacey - Glad you are getting better and back in the saddle again. Carol - Good job on the run, I hope you continue to enjoy it. Keep pushing forward. Whosya - One year is amazing, you give me hope that I'll be on here this time next year in much better shape than I am in now! Last night I did W7D1, it was so EASY! OMG, I never thought I'd say those words. I had such a stressful day and I worried that I would defeat myself and convince myself to take the night off, instead I kept telling myself how much better the run would make me feel and what a great stress reliever it is. I had an AWESOME run and then knocked out some pull-ups after. I can now pull up from flat on the floor then back down and up 1/2 way 2 times. Sort of a set of 3 semi-full pull-ups. I did 4 sets! When I started C25K I had to stand on a chair to get up there and then only could do flex arm hang! Woot! I now look forward to running and absolutely LOVE the way it makes my body feel. This is crazy! Thanks for the inspiration everyone and thanks for cheering me on!!!
  19. I lived with a porn addict and I know first hand how out of control it can get. He was the nicest guy you ever want to meet and porn caused him to lie, cheat, and steal from me. These are things that corrode a relationship. I now have a ZERO tollerance policy and DH knew it coming into the relationship. As for the privacy, I've always had a policy in my house for kids and adults alike, the computer is community property and just like at work, expect no privacy on it. I think if I had to hide seomething that I do regularly from DH or vice versa, then we have a breakdown in the realtionship already. Also, no one has mentioned that, for many, this is a moral issue as well. The bottom line is this, if she has a problem with it and he knows about it, promises not to do it and continues to anyway, then he is at fault for breaking her trust.

Band isn't what I thought it would be

Mustang, so sorry to hear about your struggles. I know you are self-pay, but if you save up enough for another surgery, I wonder if the sleeve would be a good option for you. I've been hearing some very possitive comments about it. That pain in your left shoulder is referred pain from your espohgus. When it is irritated it radiates/referrs pain to your left shoulder.

    Am I too tight???

Thanks Tweety. Trying to lose these last 12 pounds has been such a struggle, but I'm not giving up! I'm hoping my newfound love of running is going to help me.

    shh I got BOTOX!

That's cool. So you got it for a furry between your brows? I have a farily deep one and I hate it. You gonna post before and after pics? Are you happy with the results? How long is it supposed to last? Did it hurt? Sorry to pepper you with questions, but I'm very curious about it myself.
  23. Ben, you have such a great attitude, you're good looking, and witty. You'll have them lined up at your door before you know it. You're right about the accent and us American's though, it just sounds so adorable. Good luck to you and keep up with the possitive attitude, it will serve you well.

    Am I too tight???

Sounds like your chicken got stuck. Since you were able to eat it the day before, I would think what Jodi said is likely the case, that your chicken dried out when you re-heated it. I can NOT eat meat leftovers for that very reason, always too dry when the microwave gets a hold of it. If you've irritated your band, it probably is swollen now and you may need to do a couple days of liquids to allow it to get back to normal. It's kind of like biting your lip, once you do it, it swells and causes you to do it again and again. Same with the band when you get something stuck or PB. Hope you're feeling better soon.

    Betrayal is a BITCH

Morning Tina, I think he has no right to ask you about a phone number or any guy that you may be talking to. Be that as a friend or even a lover, he gave that right up a long time ago. I'm glad that you have someone that you can talk to and share your thoughts with. Is he in your area? How did you meet him? I'm very happy to hear that you had a good evening on your own. You will come to treasure your time like that. Congratulations Lady! You did it!
