I'm 15 pounds from goal and have a similar feeling. The funny thing is, that I have heartburn, not acid reflux, but just heartburn ever since my last fill in Oct. I've had a few slight unfills since then and it didn't go away. Now I can eat bread and many things I was not able to eat before. My appointment is this Friday, I'm hoping to get some answers then. Do you think you may just need a fill?

You might want to consider switching to sweet potatoes. They are really yummy. I use Promise, Splenda Brown Sugar and cinnamon on mine. I find I have trouble with white potatoes, in any form, wanting to stick on me. I also struggle with most any white carb, rice, noodles, bread... My mom's doc told her, "if it's white it aint right". ha ha

DAMN....... I'm grouchy!!!!! :::rant::::
SuzanneG replied to tripletmomma2000's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Karen, Welcome to LBT and thanks for the giggle. Oh how I remember pre-op and post op. Ha, DH was a saint, but I gave everyone around me hell. Being on liquids makes me so grouchy!!! The good news is, this too shall pass. You'll be past it before you know it and the payoff will make it worth it. As for the scales, as a 20+ years daily weigher, I highly recommend trying to weigh yourself once a week. A friend of mine, that I met on LBT, talked me into trying it and I have to say, it's like a get out of jail free card. My daily moods are no longer dictated by the scale. My weight loss has been unaffected by the change, but my week sure has improved. I only weigh on Friday mornings now. There have been times when I really, really wanted to get on the scale, but I held out and was glad I did. What do you say, think you could give the once a week scales a try? You'll be glad you did. Hang in there and keep us posted! -
I cook the whole wheat paster longer than the box says, 15 min for spaghetti and that makes the texture better. Also, I only buy Barrilla, I haven't found another brand that I like.

Liver diet? Should I be doing that?
SuzanneG replied to Fluffy420's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was BMI of 37 and my surgeon had me do it. It's likely personal perference, but the way I see it, better safe than sorry. -
Liver diet? Should I be doing that?
SuzanneG replied to Fluffy420's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Seems to me that it certainly can't hurt. Mine was 10 days protien shake for Breakfast and lunch and lean and green (4 oz meet and a cup of veggies) for dinner. Good luck to you! -
I eat the whole wheat pasta. It has high protien and goes down pretty good. Seems like I have more trouble with regular pasta.

It does sounds like you had something stuck and you did all the right things. Glad you are feeling better this morning.

I wonder if the blood is from the multiple sticks. I agree you should have them check it. Mimi! How the heck are you? I see from your stats that you are doing great, so close to goal!

how much weight did you lose on the pre-op diet??
SuzanneG replied to Yenny1605's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I was right at 37 BMI, did a 10-day preop diet of 2 protien drinks a day and 1 lean and green meal. I lost 11 pounds. -
New to website, not new to surgery...
SuzanneG replied to sweetang's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Angela, Welcome to LBT! I was banded in Jan 08 and have been on a plateau for about 6 months now. I'm looking for something to jump start my weightloss again and get me going, but can't seem to break away. This is a great site for suggestions and support. You've come to the right place! -
port hurt after eating????
SuzanneG replied to Elzinga2005's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I"m a year and a half out and I still get pain in my port area, but only if I overeat. It's strange because you would think the pain would be up high where the actual band is, but instead, my port area gets very tender if I overeat. -
My mom, sister-in-law, and a friend had all had GBP. Two them have since gained the weight back. My mom didn't gain the weight back, but her intestines got screwed up and she's sick EVERY day of her life. She's 10 years out, still skinny, but always either throwing up, stuck (in her intestines), or diarrhea. I liked the fact that the risks were low with the lapband, it's adjustable, and doesn't change your intestinal tract at all. So no problem with malabsorbtion and other problems. My mom can't even absorb many of her medications which further complicates her health. At the end of the day you have to do what you think is right for you and what you think you can live with. Best of luck to you.

Surgery in 2 days and getting very nervous
SuzanneG replied to momwifelove's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ladies, best of luck to you all. You will be fine. I found the anticipation of the surgery was way worse than the surgery itself. It's really more discomfort than actual pain. Not too bad really and is pretty much over with in a bout a week. Congrats on starting this new phase of your life. -
Many patients with acid reflux have hiatal hernia as they are extremely common. Most doctor's automatically repair them during surgery and the problem goes away.

Acid reflux after fill?
SuzanneG replied to swimswiggs's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have had heart burn, but not acide reflux (no problem at night and no feeling of something washing up) ever since my last fill in October. Since then, I've been slightly unfilled 3 times and still have the heartburn. The bad news is that I can pretty much eat anything now, even bread which I couldn't do before, yet I still have heartburn. Doc looked at me under fluro twice and says I'm fine. I don't know what to think.... -
Leah, CONGRATS!

Need Lap Band Buddy / Mentor Just had surgery
SuzanneG replied to dbinnc's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hey Derek, I'm a female, married, 43 years old. I used to be a web developer, but don't do much actual developing anymore. :cool2: I work in DC and live in VA. Anyway, I was banded Jan 08 and have lost between 75-80 pounds depending on the week. ha ha I'd like to lose 15 more pounds, but have been stuck in the same 5 pound range since Jan of this year. I'm happy to talk any time or answer any questions you may have. -
hard candies and gum???
SuzanneG replied to crg2cng's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've chewed gum since the begining, but you will see where some on here said their doctors told them not to have it. My doc never said and I'd die without my gum. ha ha -
Pretty good, but been on a plateau since January this year (my bandiversary). I would love to lose the last few pounds, but really struggling to move the scales. I haven't seen any action on our New Year's Knockouts thread... I'm starting to feel like an old-timer on here. ha ha

I got my shoes at a running store as well. Big difference as I was buying the wrong type of shoe. Ang, great to see you! I haven't seen you post in a while. How's it going?
