  1. I am so discouraged!!! I had my operation on Nov. 1st. I have had 3 fills and am up to 4cc's in a 10cc band. With each fill I feel an initial restriction then I feel like I can eat anything I want. Preoperatively I lost 18 pounds. Since then, not only have I NOT lost weight I have gained back all but 11 pounds!!!!! I am so unhappy about this. Does any one have the same problem or is it just me???? I feel like a failure and we paid out of pocket for this surgery so every month when I see the bill it makes me sick because here I am in my same fat body!!!! Help!!!!:smile2: Koren

    Someone Help Me!!!!

I hope that is true. I just feel terrible that I gained instead of at least kept off what I originally lost. I feel like I'm on Weight Watchers all over again!

Any out there from South Florida!

Hi Diane- I live in Naples but had my surgery up in Brandenton with Dr. Erbella. I was banded on the 1st of Nov. Just had my 2nd fill. I lost weight with the preop diet but have actually gained back some weight. Yesterday, I got my second fill. I have the large band (10cc). The doc said not to be surprised if I have around 4-5 fills. I physically been doing great but wish I could lose some. I am just being patient... It is all a process.
  4. You are right. I need to get in the things that are appropriate. I know that has been missing lately. I appreciate the reminder, especially after the holiday. Too many carbs can make you feel more down, anyway. I think that has been a problem, too.
  5. JFran- I would give anything to be at your place in your weight loss. In fact, can you tell me what you are eating, how often, etc. that would be great!! I was banded on Nov. 1st. I had my first fill on 12/17 and have my second one tomorrow. I lost 18 lbs preop and not only have I not lost any more weight I have gained about 7 back! EEEEKKK. I am hoping my 2nd fill tomorrow helps but I need some guidance. I, too, am down because it has been 2 months since my surgery and nothing is moving on the scale. I can eat like a horse and really want to feel full. I don't want you to feel down because there are people that are behind you and are looking for your guidance and what you have been doing right all along. Congrats and know that we are all feeling frustration from time to time. We are all in it together.
  6. I am right there with you. I haven't lost any more since preop, in fact I have gained. I had my first fill on 12/17 and I have my next one tomorrow. I have 2cc in a 10cc band. Not sure how much they will give me tomorrow. I am feeling a little down since I'm not feeling any restriction. I hope to feel more tomorrow.:guess

    Second Fill...

Me, too! I guess it is a small price to pay to get to a healthy weight. I am always telling my husband and kids to say excuse me if they belch now I am the one having to watch myself. Also, how are you doing with not drinking while eating?? It is very hard for me. Someone mentioned that once you get to your "sweet spot" you won't want to drink any liquids with your meal. It something I am really struggling with. Hopefully, that will be true once that happens. Good luck. I'm sure we'll all get to where we need to be with time.

    Second Fill...

I had my first fill this past Monday and still can eat pretty much what I like. The doc's office said don't be surprised if it takes several fills. I have a 10cc band and they put 2 in. I go back on Jan. 3rd and I will get probably 1cc or.5 cc more than what I have now. I am anxious to see some weightloss because I gained around 5 pounds before my 1st fill and I haven't seen much weightloss with the first fill. Also, another question. Since having the surgery, does anyone feel like they get serious belches that come out of nowhere but feel like they are coming up a huge well? They kind of crack me up but I hope that I am nowhere special when they hit since they are sometimes so unexpected.:nervous Just curious?
  9. Thank you for your support!! How many fills did it take not to feel that? Just curious. It sounds like things are going well for you. I'm looking forward to that feeling. I'm also looking forward to working out. I have a few more weeks to wait but I am ready to get started. Thanks again! You're a gem!
  10. I had my surgery on Nov. 1st and really started eating solids this past week. I am so much more hungry. I was wondering if this was normal and after your response and the reactions of everyone else I am glad that it is not uncommon. I think I might be pms-ing which really isn't helping. I don't get my first fill until Dec 17th. My goal has been not to gain more than a few pounds from the 18 I have lost but I hope that is possible. My doc told me not to be surprised if you gain back all the weight you lost preoperatively. Which, for me, is 10 of the 18 lbs. Yikes! Also, it is EXTREMELY hard not to drink with my meals. Any suggestions, anyone???? I'm glad this site is here! God Bless!
  11. Nessa, I was also banded on the 1st. I am glad that someone else is as hungry as I am. I was banded by Dr. Erbella in Brandenton, FL., 2 hours north of where I am. I have an appt. on Monday and I can't wait to talk to him. I have had no complications and am able to take medications whole. My only problem is gas, gas pain, and not "going". But the hunger is just not being dealt with by all the liquids I am eating. I am wondering if starting early would be a problem? I guess I have to wait to find out. Please know I am exactly where you are so there are 2 of us in it. Take care and stay strong!

    Just banded October 31!

Hi everyone! I too, am newly banded as of the 1st of November. It is true for me that if I move around more it helps mobility. However, Monday I did too much. OOOO! Two kids will do that to you. I am also bloated and not "going". In fact, as of the other day I gained a couple of pounds which is alarming me. It is hard to tell if because of the liquids and no solids that it is this way or I am drinking too much.
