Alcohol is amazing
pinkbunies replied to pinkbunies's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
yeah I've avoided all carbonated beverages. I've also avoided caffeine like the plague but oh I miss it. I love i when the waiter/waitress thinks the food was bad because I couldn't finish it. -
Alcohol is amazing

My hair is thinning. I'm taking Vitamins like crazy and everything else. Damn body changes. I like your idea... people are jerks and will assume. Wonder if this would lead me to larger tips? I could just let people lead the story and let them believe what they want... and then I could get those wrinkles around my eyes removed... I like the way you think. -

LOL. It was also my first carbonated beverage. I was scared. I survived. I hate people thinking I'm going to eat 5 lbs of food, then they look at me weird when I say I'm full. -
I admit I got scared a lot after surgery and I thought about it and said well is not like I can go back and reverse it. I had to try hard not to freak out. I just had to keep telling myself everything was going to be okay. I ended up breaking down twice. I took a xanax, gathered my thoughts, calmed down and made it past it. Now I'm in a 3 month stall and disappointed every week I go to the doctor. I know it'll pass. My size 34 pants don't fit anymore.

That's awesome. The drain tube sucks and hurts. Congrats on your surgery. -
3.5 months post op.... what's been tough for you?
pinkbunies replied to alexsisv's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I feel like I'm not eating enough food. I am afraid I'm grazing. I think its only because I am so active. I'm trying to eat more yogurt and low fat mozz. cheese sticks. I also try to drink sobe life Water. It's a stuggle. We went to a Japense steak house the other night and the stares I got because I couldn't eat everything were priceless. The cook was offended. he asked if anything was wrong. I simply said no, everything is great. -
Wait...back up... I can drink coffee? OMG! I've not had any coffee or soda since surgery. I'm going to buy gallons of decaf now. You guys have made my day/week/life

I think I've hit another stall. I'm still losing but only about a pound a week. I have been trying to get over 1200 calories a day and its hard. I'm eating high calorie foods and not gaining but not losing as much. I passed the 3 week stall. Now I guess I'm in a new stall. Any tips ? I'm so close to my goal.

How soon Post-Op can I take Motrin or Excedrin?
pinkbunies replied to ChronicJam's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had an nsaid shot. I was told that since it bypassed the stomach I would be fine. The doctor also wrote me a prescription for Tylenol 3's with codeine. This took care of my headaches. I don't think Tylenol does much of anything for me. -
I've upped the Protein and I'm drinking Sobe Water. I'm hoping I can get the scale moving down again.

I haven't done anything right
pinkbunies replied to ELI.p.m's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have no idea why people feel the need to taunt their food and try to make you regret what you have done. There is no shame in ensuring your going to stay on a healthy path and actually make changes. Screw them. If its your husband I'd threaten him with a divorce, if its your kids, ground them...no internet, no car, no tv... nothing. If its your parents cut them off and teach them to behave. If its others, consider disowning them until they can be respectful. If all else fails, you could always put an ad out on craigslist to have someone rough them up. LOL. but seriously, when people do that, they think they are so much better. Focus on Water, Soup and Protein drinks. If family starts bugging you, grab your phone, headphones and go on a walk. -

Are you still losing weight even with your diet? -
How often do you weigh or photograph yourself?
pinkbunies replied to gettinghealthymom1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I take pictures daily and I have even been getting a new drivers license pic each month. The fit bit scale helps keep track of everything. Waiting on the passport photo. I want to be about 15 lbs thinner before my pass port photo. -
I had ziti the other day. No issues at all. Everyone is different.

Loving my sleeve!
pinkbunies replied to bobbyswife's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yeah and dont be a dummy like me. Its over the counter and I bought the Wal mart brand and its about half the price. I thought I needed a prescription for the acid reducer. It helps big time. -
Loving my sleeve!
pinkbunies replied to bobbyswife's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Let me say ... it only gets better. Wait til you get frustrated because clothes don't fit. Wait til all of your friends start making comments about how much weight you have lost. It's coming. Be ready for it. Congrats on getting the sleeve. I am certain you will be happy with the decision you made. Welcome to the club. -
Extra charge for ordering from kids menu...anyone else run into this?
pinkbunies replied to Lani789's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That's a lot of trouble to go through to save $2.00. My advice, just pay the $2.00 or go to a different restaurant. Restaurants are in business to make money and if it were me, I'd charge a sharing fee or more for an adult, even if they have had surgery. -
Popsicle warning for those newly sleeved
pinkbunies replied to Mike4132's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
There is a lot of sugar in regular Popsicle's. I think the point of not eating them is to get you away from sugars and bad habits. I've had no problems with the sugar free Popsicle's. I also found that eating a cup of custard every night helped me lose weight faster than not eating it. I guess it raised my calorie intake. My body thought it was starving before. I'm not eating sugar free custard and this week makes 11 weeks I do believe. -

I had major issues with it. I learned that bacon is a big no no. -
Not a great Surgiversary at all
pinkbunies replied to GotItDoneInHarlem's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good job. Just remember there are a million fish in the sea and he was just one of them. I'm so tired of my friends saying to me... how much more are you going to lose? I'm only down 51 lbs all total. Im 6 7' and I feel attractive at my current weight but I want to be around 200lbs when all is said and done. I don't think my face has slimmed down that much. I get hit on all the time by both men and women, younger and older so its flattering and gives me a confidence boost. I really should wear my wedding ring lol. It might help with having to tell people no. -
Did you gain the muscle back?
pinkbunies replied to Justoperated's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I take testosterone shots each week which help with building muscle. If you don't get enough Protein your not going to gain muscle. You can most definitely gain muscle. Look into Testosterone injections. It is a huge help. I found out that my Testosterone numbers dropped drastically after surgery. They upped my dose and I'm back to normal. The weight loss has slowed for me, but I'm still losing inches and my waist size continues to shrink. I also need to up my calorie intake. Back to eating ice cream every night again. Last time I did that, I think I lost 9 lbs in a 7 day period. -
Everything I consume causes acid reflux
pinkbunies replied to HawaiianTexan's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had this problem too. It passed. Have you tried changing food? I like ice cream or custard because it goes down smooth. oatmeal is also another favorite. I know that bacon is out of the question atm for me. I also know that I can't really eat burgers. -
I went today and got a new drivers license with a new picture. I compared the old with the new. I look like I'm 22 again. I have no double chin. My blue eyes just poke right out. I can't believe this. Surgery was October 22, 2014. My other picture on my drivers license was from April of this year. I was huge. Everyone who said it gets better was right. I still think I'm the same when I look in the mirror but wow , I know I'm changing for the better.
