I'm taking in 100 G of Protein a day. Is that enough? -

I'm also taking 20 MG of adderall twice daily so that helps stave off the hunger. I've also been trying to drink more fluids when I get hungry and when I have sweet cravings I've been trying to eat grapes, pineapple or cantaloupe. So far so good Just got back from another workout. Everyone is complaining about being so sore but I'm not. -

Come to think of it yes. Then I switched to healthier foods -
Lol. Hey I took lots of pics for everyone haha

Can we assume that she went forward with it and that is why we haven't heard?
-
@@Pac-woman yes. I was up and going 15 minutes after surgery. I also sent a text to everyone in a group I made prior to going under and sent it to them and said I'm done. I had no appetite for about 5 days and I was scared to drink too much for fear I might cause a leak. I think I walked like 5 miles on Saturday when I got back home. I took no pain meds after getting home. I hated those stupid leggings things. lol

I'm throwing this in there for comical purposes... we didn't say anything about the size of the 1 cookie did we? I mean, what if it was a gigantic large cookie and it did fill her up?
-
I sucked it up and joined a gym. I'm scared of gaining the weight back. This week my pants were really tight... and I felt so depressed... I couldn't understand why they were so tight... I jumped to the worst possible conclusion... I had already gained back all that weight...nope... I didn't look and I had grabbed my husbands pants which are a size 32... and while they were tight I could still fit into them. I didn't know they were his until I got home from work and he said, why are you wearing my pants... then it was followed with OMG those are my pants and you can wear them. Def. google the 5 day pouch.

Well think of it this way... if you have been a good girl and you've stuck to the plan, you can reward yourself. If not, you can also say screw it and still eat that cookie, or you could have extreme will power and reject it altogether. Personally I usually try to eat some greek yogurt or drink a Protein shake. I still sneak in some chocolate everyday. One week I ate frozen custard every night and lost 9 lbs. I don't encourage anyone to try this, it is so tempting to forget the new healthy eating habits.

You look amazing and incredible. Do you feel better and have more energy?

As its been said on this forum, the Gastric Sleeve is simply a tool to help you lose weight. You still have to watch what you eat and exercise. This is a sad story but I hope it doesn't discourage anyone from getting gastric surgery of any sort. I hope more and more people continue to get it and hopefully we can get back on track and be as healthy a possible.

Start slow, I'd say with the Treadmill or Elliptical machine. I did the Elliptical machine last night and wow it was hard. The Treadmill is nothing. I'll be fine in a week or so. The best tip I can give you is to make sure you have comfy shoes for walking/running. It's not uncommon to go through a pair of shoes a month if your getting to it. I know prior to my surgery, I was walking 12 miles a day, 7 days a week. I went through two pairs of shoes in a month. If your shoes aren't comfy, look out for the blisters and they hurt!!!

I wouldn't wish the stomach flu on my worst enemy. That stuff is brutal. I went to Urgent Care three days in a row for fluids when I had it. I got it from a customer who had just got over it. It is highly contagious. Get well soon and hydrate and weigh

It's normal to be scared and have second thoughts, but remember that if you do back out, you will likely have regret for not going through with it. I agree with the person who said keeping the weight off is the issue. Since my surgery in October, I am down 56 lbs and have already met my goal weight without trying too hard. The Surgery isn't long and is very simple. To tell you how simple, I went to Mexico to get my surgery done. I flew out on Tuesday, Surgery on Wednesday and back home on Friday. I returned to work that Monday with no problems. I remember laying on the bed, he said okay I'm putting the sleepy stuff in and then I woke up and was walking within 15 minutes of waking up. I had a lot of doubts and fears, but I was determined to change my life for the best. Also, I went to Mexico by myself, with no one else with me. I now look back and think about how stupid that was... there could have been a lot of what if's... but they were only fears. Think of how much better you will feel, how much more energy you will have and also, how much longer you'll live being healthier. In the end, it comes down to what do you want? Also, I was on this very forum posting right after my surgery. It really is a simple surgery. I encourage you to go through with it if you've come this far and its tomorrow.

@@Sharon1964 that's awesome to know. I've already had my surgery so no worries for me. As far as the business insurance goes, I just nixed the idea altogether. I haven't looked into it again since around 2011.

I thought I'd throw this out there for everyone. I've had BCBS for years and they are against Gastric/Bariatric anything. I was forced to switch to a new plan in December due to the affordable care act. My Premium was $161.00 a month. It went up to like $470. I had a $1000.00 deductible and found out that for $20.00 more I could get 0 Deductible, so I did that. I got my new packet in the mail and the ACA did get rid of a ryder that said nothing related to my back, neck or head would be covered. So I guess if I had a sinus infection, because its in my head/nose area, I'd have no coverage. So those are gone I had high hopes that the ACA would also get rid of the NO Gastric/Bariatric treatment, but my hopes were failed. Some states do require that the insurance companies cover it, but unfortunately my state does not Anyway, on to the whole point of my post... I got my new packet and it clearly states that BCBS will not cover anything relating to weight loss, bariactric surgery, check ups, procedures or anything relating to weight loss surgery including follow up care. Anything related to weight loss or weight loss surgery will be denied. So I started thinking about this, and wondered if I asked my Psych doctor about Gastric Surgery and she put it in her notes and they found it, would they deny the payment to the psych doctor? Just some thoughts, but the main point of posting this is to let you know, if you have BCBS Oklahoma, be sure to read your policy if you have had weight loss surgery.

Yep. I just keep thinking what I could do with that extra $300 a month I'm paying. I don't agree with the way it works but that's another issue. I don't get any tax credit or subsidy. I make it a point to go to the Doctor now for every single ache and pain. I feel like I need to get use out of that policy I'm paying for each month. On a side note, I did manage to get my vehicle insurance down from $7900 a year to $1600 and I lowered my deductibles. It's now the law that we have health insurance, it should also be the law that they cover EVERYTHING not just what they want. Just my opinion. Also, I checked into buying health insurance for my company and thought it would save me money. Nope. From what I understand, the employer pays a percentage of the claims filed. I'd never open myself up to a liability like that.
-
Is your policy through an employer? I purchase my policy directly from BCBS. I know some employee offered BCBS Ok Policies offer it, but if your going direct its not available. I bought the very best plan they had.

What exercise routine do you recommend it's to cold to walk outside?
pinkbunies replied to Sexy Granni's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I like to go at those times because the gym isn't too busy. One thing that I just laugh so hard about now is the first night we went, the parking lot was full and we kept driving around for about 10 minutes looking for a parking spot that was really close. I then said... why are we joining a gym to walk on a treadmill and trying to park so close? And I wasn't the only one doing this, others were driving around even longer. Finally I parked as far away as we could. I usually do this because we have a new truck and I'm OCD about people dinging their doors into my truck. They had plenty of spots, they just were not right by the door. -
And I thought I'd throw this in there too... why in the world does the insurance company want to deny a procedure that has been so successful in helping people lose weight and get healthy? Certainly paying for heart medication, high blood pressure medication, diabetes mediation, sleep apna medication and more would be more expensive in the long run than just paying for the surgery. . I just don't understand why they provide no options what so ever. I even had asked BCBS about weight loss surgery and the lady politely said that its not the insurance companies fault I'm overweight. grrrr

pinkbunies replied to Sexy Granni's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Join a gym. I love to walk, but its freezing here atm and I can't stand to be cold since surgery. This past week, we joined planet fitness. We did their $10.00 a month plan and paid $1.00 to join. We didn't have to sign a contract. There is a annual fee of $29.00 billed in June if we still have our membership. The biggest thing that stood in the way of us joining is the thought was extremely intimidating and I'm really shy when it comes to gyms. It was just fears. After we went, we saw that it was a very comfortable, relaxed and clean environment. I admit, I'm not doing 12 miles a day anymore but I'm going to get back up there. I'm up to about 6 though. We do a minimum of 30 minutes a day on the treadmill and usually 10 minutes on the elliptical thingy. We are starting weight lifting next week. They also offer personal trainers at no extra charge and they limit the class sizes for the personal trainers to 5 people at a time. So with that being said, look into joining a gym. I think Planet Fitness has something like 400 locations across the country. I recommend them as we've had a great experience. I also like that they have readily available sanitation stations where you can clean the equipment before you use it. They tell you that your supposed to wipe the stuff down after each use and so far everyone I've seen there does do it. I want to get to where we are going in the morning around 6 and in the evening around 8 or 9. I sleep so well after a good work out. @@alwaysvegas house cleaning is also a great workout. No Tomatoes to throw over that one. -

Hey flying to mexico saved me thousands. Its not for everyone. I just passed the billboard for the place in Owasso. for self pay people who aren't loaded with money mexico is a great option and saves lots of money. I think a lot of people are just racist towards mexico. -
Biotin how much are you taking
pinkbunies replied to mishelcrz88's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I take 3 5000 MCG pills a day. I got a bottle of them from Target. My nails are pretty but hair is still thinning. I hope it goes away soon. I'm taking in 100 g of Protein a day. -
I'm kinda disappointed

The Sleeve won't do all the work for you. You have to eat right and yes you have to exercise. Have you thought about joining a gym?
