So every goal I set, I meat and beat it. We are doing the fertilization where one baby is mine and one baby is his. It's a lot of money to spend and we've been advised that we could end up with up to 8 to 10 going this route, but realistically 2 to 4. I'm excited. The Surgery is nothing compared to what you go through trying to have babies, The weight loss was the first step. I wish I had done it ten years ago. When they get here, I'm retiring for 20 years. LOL. (I doubt this but wishful thinking). At least with having the surgery, I know I'm going to be around for quite a while.

Twins are coming soon for us
pinkbunies replied to pinkbunies's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I hate my laptop. I swear I've spilled on this thing so much and it makes so many errors lol. I forgot to make the most important point. If it weren't for this forum, I would never have discovered surgery in Mexico. The procedure we are doing we are also having done in Mexico as its sooooooooooooooo much cheaper. We were quoted $200k just to start here in the US. Around $35,000 in Mexico. Everything I've been quoted in the US I've been willing to do and spend the money on but then finding good reputable places in Mexico isn't hard. -
Who else has been through this and conquered it?
pinkbunies replied to KK66's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I had surgery in October 2014. I hit a stall until I started going to the gym. I was very shy about going to the gym. I got over it. I go to the gym at 5am every morning for 30 to 45 minutes a day. I over indulge in slider foods and mini reece cups are my biggest weakness... and if they go in the freezer omg its heaven. I'm still losing weight and haven't gained any yet. I met my goal and then beat it but I'm still losing and working on that six pack for summer vacation so I can make all my relatives jealous. lol. I gave up the Protein shakes but maybe I need to start back on them. I think you have conquered this already... only gaining 8 lbs... I'd say you have nothing to worry about. -
Dating after the sleeve
pinkbunies replied to funcatch's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Dating again is so much fun, especially at 30. Sucks that your hubby was a jerk. Don't take this the wrong way, but learn from it and don't fall for a jerk like that again. Was your hubby over weight or controlling? Relationships usually hit tough spots after weight loss surgery and its usually from the insecurity of the spouse. The on way I looked at it was.. if they loved me fat, they should really love me skinny. Wait til you hit six months post op. It's fun. -
Only losing 1lbs a day
pinkbunies replied to nikki1980's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You will stall but don't give up. When you stall I suggest increasing the amount of food you eat. If you aren't going to a gym yet def go. -

Anyone wake up with Acid in the middle of the night
pinkbunies posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am having acid issues. I'm taking two 20 mg prilosects. One in the morning, one in the evening. I'm still waking up in the middle of the night choking on acid. Has anyone had these issues? -
Anyone wake up with Acid in the middle of the night
pinkbunies replied to pinkbunies's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It is aweful and I was out of Tums the other night so it was hard to get rid of the nasty acid taste. I drank Orange juice in the middle of the night and the acid followed so I know not to do that again. I've found that Sam's has the cheapest anti acid pills. I'm almost 6 months post op and this just started. I'm finally able to eat a decent amount of food, but I'd say no more than 6 ounces at a time. Can't believe I'm still soda free. -
Do people still recognize you?
pinkbunies replied to pinkbunies's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I'm 31 and getting carded again. The only down side with my youthful looks is my new customers don't believe me when I tell them I've been doing this for 16 years. They don't think I'm old enough. I've had people tell me I'm completely different and the only thing different about me is yes the weight is gone, I have more energy, I exercise daily now, I don't eat a lot and I haven't had soda since the surgery. -
how long is it taking you to drink
pinkbunies replied to boosh10's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm almost 5 months post OP. I have to drink really slow. Otherwise it causes gas and hurts. -
How much walking can I do? 1 wk post-op
pinkbunies replied to Dee951's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I walked 3 miles just 3 days after surgery. Within 7 days I was up to 12 miles a day again Now I'm going to the gym everyday and doing my time on the treadmill. Pace yourself and if you just had surgery, you might want someone to walk with you if it hurts, stop. Don't take on too much. no need in rushing. -

Do you lose less on the sleeve than bypass?
pinkbunies replied to bangbangbarbie's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
and yes you can regain the weight. If you join a gym, you'll be amazed at how fast the pounds fall off. -
Do you lose less on the sleeve than bypass?
pinkbunies replied to bangbangbarbie's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have a friend who had the bypass and she has regained the weight. I did the sleeve and I've lost 76 lbs as of this morning and I feel amazing. From what I understand, the sleeve is maint. free and the bypass has more to it. -
I've had a fun incredible journey since October when I was sleeved. Today has been a nice, boring lazy Sunday. I cleaned out my closet and got rid of all my clothes that are too big. I found brand new shirts, pants, shorts etc that I had never worn. They were 1 and 2 x and up to a size 38 waist. I ended up having three huge garbage bags full of clothes I can't wear any longer due to size. I never thought the day would come when I couldn't fit into my XLT shirts. Now they look like a blanket on me. So that being said, if your starting the journey, put this on your list. It'll make you realize how much progress you have made. As of this morning I'm down a grand total of 69 lbs from October.

I also look at this in another way... it gives me an excuse to app for other credit cards at stores i couldn't shop at before because they didn't have anything in my size. I have a credit card addiction , but never carry a balance. lol We started going to the gym every single day around the start of January. All I'm doing in 30 minutes on the treadmill and 15 mins on the elliptical and I started eating even more healthy... big drop in weight again. My gut is gone finally. I didn't think it would help or I'd see a difference, but now when people see me that is the first thing they comment about. I hope to start toning in a couple weeks.

finally giving in...getting a big haircut (4 months post-op)
pinkbunies replied to mamaofmatthew's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Are you taking Biotin? It helps so much. My biggest complaint is my nails have to be trimmed 3 times a week. Your making great progress. Reward yourself. Put some color in. Go all out. I went bleach blonde and pulled it off. -
This surgery feels like a big mistake.
pinkbunies replied to Anthony DeCastro's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You will learn to be patient and eat slow. In 3 to 4 months you'll be able to eat 6 to 8 ounces at most in one sitting. -
Anyone told they don't weigh enough by insurance? Appeals, weight gain and more.
pinkbunies replied to OldMomOf3's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
tbh I'll have to look at the paper work again as I don't remember the surgeons name. The one thing I hated hearing was... your not big enough, this is for people who need it. It made my blood boil and made me more determined. Sometimes, no matter how hard you try you just can't lose the weight. One day the ignorant insurance companies are going to realize that they will benefit more by having this surgery done vs. letting the person continue to have health problems. -

Anyone told they don't weigh enough by insurance? Appeals, weight gain and more.
pinkbunies replied to OldMomOf3's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was denied by my insurance because they don't cover it. I tried to have the surgery done locally and they told me I wasn't heavy enough, gain 30 more lbs then try again (this was me paying cash and they still said no) I went self pay, spent $4k and had it done in Mexico. I scheduled one week and was in Mexico the next. I'm inpatient and didn't want to wait. Arrived Tuesday, Surgery Wednesday, home on Friday, back to work on Monday. I'd do it all again if I had to. If you have 4k on a credit card, go that route and get it over it. There is a link on this forum for a place that does it for $3200.00. -
Did you take the medication on an empty stomach

Your losing too much weight, you look sick
pinkbunies replied to CarolinaCutie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
M best friend has told me I look sick and to stop losing weight of I'm going to disappear. I'll chalk it up to he's jealous. -
I got into a bad habit of grazing and thankfully I didn't gain any weight. I just hit a big ole stall. I joined Planet Fitness and have been going for an hour everyday. Prior to going to the gym, I could graze all day long and eat a good bit. (probably why I stalled) After joining the gym, I noticed my appetite went down big time. I also stopped grazing and went to eating 5 meals a day. I usually eat oatmeal for Breakfast, a Protein shake for lunch, then a cheese stick as a snack, then for dinner Ill eat a salad with chicken and broccoli and cheese. Yes, I'm that boring with food. I can't even finish dinner and I'm making small portions. So what I'm finding is I'm not nearly as hungry now and I can only eat maybe 5 ounces total. I can't even graze which is a good thing. The weight is moving again. 7 lbs in the last 10 days. Size 34's fall off me now and I can fit into a 32 but they are tight on me. Is this normal to go from grazing to not hungry and dropping weight again?
