What's going on? Not losing weight
pinkbunies replied to chiquiroxy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Its not like your going to have this surgery and be thin the next day. The first thing to watch for is about 5 days out from surgery, your going to have a nice, big bowel movement. Not being gross but it has to flow through for you to lose. My suggestion is to throw away the scale. Be patient. Also, are you eating the same amount of food you were eating prior to your surgery? I think your answer to this is going to be no. So its just a matter of time. Your body has to burn off the fat which is used as fuel to give your energy and it has to discard the fat some how, so down the toilet it goes, sweat etc. You will see major change in 3 months and within a year you will see even more. Remember you still have to do your part and the sleeve is only a tool. -
How do you guys manage all the sweets?
pinkbunies replied to 11072016's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's only temporary. I couldn't stand sweets or soda after my Surgery and I was sleeved nearly 2 years ago. Now I can eat sweets again but it is a road I wish I never went down. I love sweets but I have to try hard not to eat them. Sometimes at night I have cravings and it's terrible because it will go right through me. I swear I could finish off an entire bag of frozen reece cups if you let me lol -
Vomiting/Dry heaving

I had this problem when I tried to eat to much. I learned quick not to do it. -
Doed it really hurt?
pinkbunies replied to Siyaa Ela's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my surgery in Mexico. I woke up, the pain wasn't bad at all. I felt like I had tried to do a lot of situps, best way I can describe it. I remember having a constant feeling that I was about to gag or throw up. The nurse kept me filled with anti nausea medication and pain meds. I flew in on Tuesday, surgery on Wednesday back home by Friday back to work that Monday. I had a drain tube in my stomach. They took it out two days later. Over all the pain wasn't bad. -
Does anyone miss the feeling after surgery?
pinkbunies posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know this sounds insane but does anyone miss the feeling you had after surgery? Not right after surgery, but maybe 3 to 6 months after surgery? I do. I'm now 2 years out and I have found that I have to stay away from slider foods. I work out avidly and if I'm not careful, by golly I can indeed gain weight again. I know, the sleeve is only a tool. Trust me, I read it right here on this forum and I have listened. I'm now trying to cut my addiction to slider foods. It's hard. And then the most overwhelming feeling I have is trying to figure out what to eat. I bought the cook book for Bariatric Patients and it just looks like too much work. I've heard but cannot confirm that if I screw up, I could have the sleeve done again IE if I stretch my sleeve too much. Anyone have any idea on this? -
I've read lots on the forum and wow, its finally happened to me. I am constantly hungry. I have upped my Protein to 120 grams a day. I have upped my Fluid intake as well. I exercise daily at the gym, an hour a day. I'm hungry and it isn't going away. Its the first time I've felt like this. I feel like I'm eating too much. I'm controlling portions but I'm not feeling the restriction any longer like I used to. Granted I can't eat more than 8 or so ounces, it used to be 6. I have been lifting a lot more. I'm hoping that I'm just burning more calories and my body wants more food. No idea. I'm gaining weight but not the bad kind. My whole body is getting toned and I have visible muscles. I highly doubt I have stretched my sleeve as I know that would take a lot. Any advise, info would be appreciated. I had my sleeve October 2014 so I'm close to 2 years now. I've lost over 100 lbs.

I'm almost two years out. It was well worth every penny and I'd do it again. I've kept the weight off but OMG I'm so hungry lately. I feel like I'm eating a lot more but I'm really not. I think I'm grazing which isn't good but I'll deal with it. I suggest the surgery to anyone who is over weight.

Sleeved in April anyone got exercise tips
pinkbunies replied to possum83's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You probably need to hire a personal trainer. I joined Lifetime Fitness and hired a personal trainer and I go everyday now. I meet with my personal trainer an average of 6 days a week, 1 hour a day. It runs around $6k a month but it is well worth it. I also go to the gym sometimes up to twice a day, one of those times is by myself and not meeting with my personal trainer. -
I need to know it gets better!
pinkbunies replied to Rvamom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think it is typical to have the equal of buyers remorse. Your not going to lose all the weight in just a few days... give it six months and remember there are going to be stalls... but in six months you will be complaining about having to buy new clothes. I had the surgery 2 years ago and it was the best thing I ever did. I'm still losing to this day. -
Cold feet? Literally-feet
pinkbunies replied to 2016newmesf's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh I remember those days where I was always cold. I bought a mattress warmer and an electric blanket. I did find out that drinking Protein shakes made me really hot I guess from all of the calories. Give it time, it'll pass. -
So yes, I know this is a disgusting topic but anyway, I'll try to keep it short. How many of you have over-eaten and ended up throwing up or vomiting food back up because you ate to much or too fast? I have had this happen 4 times total. It doesn't feel that bad. It's quick and to the point. It has been a while since this has happened to me. The bigger problem I have is vomiting when I sleep...stomach acid so I have to take a Prescription pill for that at night.

I am a gastric sleeve failure
pinkbunies replied to scliftonw's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I noticed when I stopped working out as much I felt like I was gaining weight, though I'm not. My Physical Trainer keeps telling me I'm not eating enough. I've worried to death about my sleeve being stretched but I can't seem to find a clear answer on this. I am able to eat more but I'm over 1 year post surgery. I still feel the restriction and I also drink liquids when I eat. :-/ -

So is it possible to stretch your sleeve and start eating more food? -
I had the hardest time taking in Water. Someone on this forum suggest I try SOBE. strawberry Dragonfruit is my favorite. They are zero calorie and taste great. I go to Target and buy out the entire shelf of Strawberry Dragonfruit. Don't try to drink a lot at once, try to take small sips.

What's your morning routine?
pinkbunies replied to aaonthego's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
When I'm home I usually drink a boldhouse Protein shake with 32 grams of protein in it then I take my Vyvanse. Between the two, this will kill my hunger for the rest of the day and I have to remember to eat. After I first had surgery, it was the broth then light foods. I never did the puree thing but probably should have. -
No New Years Resolution !
pinkbunies replied to laguerr13's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congrats. It is amazing how much better we feel as we shed the pounds. We get more energy, more ambition and once we start living a healthier lifestyle, it is incredible. I'm only 32, but I've always been told retirement is another word for working more. Good luck. -
I just weighed and you are right... I thought I'd gained a lot of weight as you can see in my post above. Nope. It's all in my head. Still the same weight. LOL

I have cheated so many times its not even funny and I'm still losing weight and gaining muscle. I just got back from a cruise and I feel like I ate 24/7. I probably gained 5 lbs on the cruise but I'm not worried about it as I'll go to the gym and get back into my better habits once I'm home. The Sleeve is a tool. Use it and you will be fine. I actually indulged in alcohol on this past cruise. One drink and I'm drunk for a very short amount of time.. then sip some more... I guess smaller stomach = lighter weight drinker.

Heartburn now starting 5 months later
pinkbunies replied to Lexuskela's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh yes. Have you woke up in the middle of the night vomiting stomach acid? I have. It sucks. My doctor put me on a prescription called pantoprazole. I take 40 MG of pantoprazole twice daily. It's a very affordable medication and currently its free with my insurance. After I started taking this, all of my heart burn and acid issues went away. There are some nights I forget to take it and sure enough, I'll know as I'll wake up later in the night choking on stomach acid. I had tried over the counter stuff but it wasn't really effective. Hope this helps. -
14 months post op... how much is normal to eat?
pinkbunies posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm now 14 months post op. After my surgery I used to be able to eat only half of a chicken sandwich from Chick-Fil-A. Last week I was able to eat about 75% of a sandwich. I'm currently on a Cruise right now. I am finding myself hungry and I think its due to the hectic travel plans and the different foods. What is a normal amount to eat one year post op? Should it still be in the 4 to 6 ounce range? We ate at a fancy restaurant tonight and the waiter thought something was wrong with my steak because I couldn't eat it all. I asked them if they could put it in a to go box. He had the chef make me a whole new steak to go. We both told him everything was perfect. Anyway, I'm finding that people think the food isn't good because I can't eat it all. It makes going out to eat ...hard lol. So in short, how much is normal to be eating 14 months post op? -

I recommend Allure of the Seas... it's the largest cruise ship in the world. -
14 months post op... how much is normal to eat?
pinkbunies replied to pinkbunies's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
And I'm 6 7' and weighed in the other day at 226. When I started at the new gym I was 211. I haven't gained fat but I have these big lumps in my arms... they say they are muscles... my man boobs have turned into firm skin and my thighs and legs are complete muscle.... I'm even starting to get a butt. lol. -
14 months post op... how much is normal to eat?
pinkbunies replied to pinkbunies's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well I've been working out 6 to 7 days a week trying to build muscle. When I joined the new Gym, I also hired a personal trainer who I meet with usually 6 days a week, 1 hour a day. I also try to squeeze in 1 hour in addition to weight training. He has told me I'm not eating enough and I need to be eating around 3500 calories a day. My goal isn't just weight loss anymore, its getting muscle. I want a six pack and dang its taking a while to get there. Some days I have trouble getting in full meals. I also have bolthouse shakes to drink as they contain Protein and also have other stuff as well as a high calorie count. I'm extremely active. The last three days have been thrown off due to the vacation. We got to the airport at 4am, arrived in Florida at 2pm, up the next morning at six and today is our first normal day... so I'm going to try to get up at my usual 5am and hit the gym on the ship tomorrow. I'm just hoping I'm not getting used to eat too much. I guess its time to do the 5 day pouch reset when I get home. I will say that this is the first time I've really consumed alcohol since the surgery. I figured heck if I'm going to spend $62.00 a day for it, I'm going to try to get my money's worth lol. For the first time in my life, I'm able to go to the beach and I'm not ashamed... I'm not fat anymore and I have so much energy. I just don't want to get off track. I have found that it is hard to find healthy foods on the cruise ship. I'm terrified of getting norovirus... it would probably kill me lol. -
What are the first 4 days after surgery like? Any Dos and don’ts…..
pinkbunies replied to Scottyd1264's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Don't try to eat bacon. It gave me severe heart burn. -
Did anyone go to surgery alone.
pinkbunies replied to cookies_queen's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I flew to Mexico by myself and had it done. I was in good hands. I flew in Tuesday, surgery on Wednesday, flew back home on Friday then back to work on Monday. I was alone the entire time but I had my laptop and cell phone, decent drugs and I was good.
