Gastric sleeve surgery 1 month ago
EvieLamp replied to gtavarez88's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
20 pounds since surgery? That's awesome! Did your doctor or NUT give you information of your progression of foods? Clear liquids, full liquids, puree, mushies, solids? Can you give us an example of what a typical day of food is like for you. Have you had your 1 month follow up? If not you can bring up your concerns then too. -
Congrats to you and hubby, it must be great to experience the process together.

Congrats on your approval!

BSBC MA - BMI 40 and afraid I will not be approved
EvieLamp replied to pato_3472's topic in Insurance & Financing
I have a different insurance carrier but I had the same concern. I'm currently at 41.5 bmi and I brought up my concern of falling below 40 at my 2nd weigh in with my nutritionist and she said it didn't matter how much i lost they go by the very first weigh in at the start of the supervised diet. -

Can you choose your goal weight or does it choose you?
EvieLamp replied to nolongerhere's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I've seen vets mention adding higher calorie snack choices. I can think of things such as various nuts if you can handle them, butter when cooking or a little butter/cheese or sour cream on veggies/ eggs. -

I think that's exactly what people in maintenance do, adjust their calories/diet to find a happy median of not losing and definitely not gaining along with exercise =). -

I am thankful for @@RachaelThomas for our new found friendship. I'm thankful she thought to share her experience with her insurance carrier and specific plan because she is the only person in the state with the same plan that I have found on BP. She's genuine and shares her experiences without being annoyed by my questions . I share my short comings and she always has an encouraging word. Thanks @@RachaelThomas! Thanks BP Community for the wealth of knowledge in each thread!
