  1. Happy New Years. I have a slogan for this year and I was tempted to make it "Looking Fine in 09" but I thought 'Feelin Fine in '09 was a better one that reflected that I want to get healthier as well as look better this year.

    Have you set any 2009 weight loss journey goals?

    I'd like to be at -90 lbs by my birthday on January 29

    I'd like to be at -100 lbs by my bandiversary on March 17

  2. Tess -- that is a wonderful goal for 2009 to get your BSN! You go girl!

    Fenton - hang in there, or hang ten?? You will be snowboarding in those French Alps before you know it!

    For me.... this is something little but I want to be able to go into any restaurant and fit comfortably in a booth -- I can at most places now but I recently had one of those uh-oh moments when I was so uncomfortable when they put us in a booth where the table didn't adjust at all that we had to be moved to a table. I hate embarrassment like that!!

    Also, Ohio does have the king of roller coaster amusement parks -- Cedar Point is on Lake Erie at Sandusky, OH and I'd love to be able to fit into roller coasters again. The last time I went in 2001, I ended up being the babysitter for my nephew who wouldn't go on most rides because I couldn't fit in many of them. Never again! I hope to be riding roller coasters into my 90's!

    I was so disappointed in myself to see a 3-4 lb gain over the holiday week but I'm also wondering about how much hungrier I am feeling with the extra exercising I'm doing and maybe some of the exercising is causing muscle/water gain too? Just need to tough it out and be proud I went to the gym so far on 12/28, 12/30, 1/2, 1/3, and have plans to go tomorrow so I'm doing well sticking to the more exercise part of my commitment.


  4. :laugh: I really didn't get any interest from either calls or emails to the scrapbooking event and demonstration of how to build an album of our weight loss journey so I've cancelled what I had planned to offer on January 10 at 10am at my church and I'll see you guys at the Polaris get together.

    If anyone is interested in just a small group of scrapbookers getting together, PM or email me and I'd gladly host it.


  5. I recently bought a book called Maran Illustrated Weight Training and I'm loving it. It has COLOR pictures of the Start, Finish position of different exercises and a picture of what NOT to do wrong. Demonstrates the kind of equipment used to do different exercises. Anyway, in the back of the book, they have sample workout routines so I have made me some forms up by typing things into MS Word documents and I thought I'd share these if anyone could use them. I'm planning to take them to something like a FedEx Kinkos and get a 30 or 60 page (copies) printed and bound into a loose spiral type booklet that I can use to write in.

    Get moving in 2009 is my goal!

  7. Please note that the schedule is twice a month now and the Monday one is at Mt. Carmel East Seigel Center - their auditorium - on January 7th which is when I will be presenting on scrapbooking our weight loss journey.

    I put XXX under goal and you can make this some interim goal you have or your end goal, whatever you want or leave it blanked with the XXXs if you want.

  11. At the December support group meeting, I used my digital camera to take this picture of the Nativity scene stained glass window that is in the auditorium there at Mt. Carmel West's Medical Staff Building and I thought it was just so pretty I wanted to share it with you all.

    P.S. For those who haven't been to that location, they have about 6 beautiful stained glass windows of scenes of Christ, like 3 on each side.

    I'll demo from 10-11 am on how to use your computer to help do an album full of ideas, a coworker of mine is a Creative Memories consultant and she will take over from 11-12 noon, then the last 2 hours is hands on doing a project of your choice with our help to get you started.
