Swood - congrats on your lapband. Sounds like you are doing great if you are already making a step toward more exercise. What NDWife said sounds about right, start easy, treadmill or something that isn't intense on your abdominals and work up from there. -

Don't worry -- all of us were at our breaking point and ashamed of our weight when we got to the point of knowing we needed to do something other than rejoin WW for the 50th time (for me...) and we will be here to support you. We meet at the food Court and the most convenient place to park is at the northeast corner of the mall parking which is by Great Indoors. The entrance to the food court is right there. We try to sit around the Chik-Fil-A corner by Great Indoors whenever we can. -

Okay, good news, the scale was down 2 lbs this a.m. from yesterday so maybe that Easy Come, Easy Go mindset is something I should remember.

I had hoped the file I posted in the prior post would at least show a thumbnail image but it only has the file name so I'm going to try attaching a .jpg file here as a test and see if that is the answer. Okay, that test worked, now I know I have to attach .jpg files instead of bitmaps. -

Happy New Years. I have a slogan for this year and I was tempted to make it "Looking Fine in 09" but I thought 'Feelin Fine in '09 was a better one that reflected that I want to get healthier as well as look better this year. Have you set any 2009 weight loss journey goals? I'd like to be at -90 lbs by my birthday on January 29 I'd like to be at -100 lbs by my bandiversary on March 17 Feelin Fine in 09.bmp -

Tess -- that is a wonderful goal for 2009 to get your BSN! You go girl! Fenton - hang in there, or hang ten?? You will be snowboarding in those French Alps before you know it! For me.... this is something little but I want to be able to go into any restaurant and fit comfortably in a booth -- I can at most places now but I recently had one of those uh-oh moments when I was so uncomfortable when they put us in a booth where the table didn't adjust at all that we had to be moved to a table. I hate embarrassment like that!! Also, Ohio does have the king of roller coaster amusement parks -- Cedar Point is on Lake Erie at Sandusky, OH and I'd love to be able to fit into roller coasters again. The last time I went in 2001, I ended up being the babysitter for my nephew who wouldn't go on most rides because I couldn't fit in many of them. Never again! I hope to be riding roller coasters into my 90's! to make up for the lost years. -

The way it works is you copy the WHOLE list from the last person who posted an update, update or insert your own line (alphabetical order by your username) by copying another person's line, then post the WHOLE updated list for the next person to update. Please be sure you follow this instruction or else we'll find we accidentally drop someone off. I'll try to keep an eye on things to be sure we're okay. Just need to tough it out and be proud I went to the gym so far on 12/28, 12/30, 1/2, 1/3, and have plans to go tomorrow so I'm doing well sticking to the more exercise part of my commitment.

Yes, me too -- I can't believe how much we have all accomplished this year with hard work, dedication, and working with our band tool. I thank God every day for getting me healthier and know I have to keep going. Happy New Year to all the Shrinking Shamrocks! You rock! ...as always

:laugh: I really didn't get any interest from either calls or emails to the scrapbooking event and demonstration of how to build an album of our weight loss journey so I've cancelled what I had planned to offer on January 10 at 10am at my church and I'll see you guys at the Polaris get together. If anyone is interested in just a small group of scrapbookers getting together, PM or email me and I'd gladly host it.

I recently bought a book called Maran Illustrated Weight Training and I'm loving it. It has COLOR pictures of the Start, Finish position of different exercises and a picture of what NOT to do wrong. Demonstrates the kind of equipment used to do different exercises. Anyway, in the back of the book, they have sample workout routines so I have made me some forms up by typing things into MS Word documents and I thought I'd share these if anyone could use them. I'm planning to take them to something like a FedEx Kinkos and get a 30 or 60 page (copies) printed and bound into a loose spiral type booklet that I can use to write in. Get moving in 2009 is my goal! Here is the link to the support group meetings Mt. Carmel holds in the Columbus area. Its in an auditorium format and they do ask the Mt. Please note that the schedule is twice a month now and the Monday one is at Mt. Carmel East Seigel Center - their auditorium - on January 7th which is when I will be presenting on scrapbooking our weight loss journey. http://www.mountcarmelhealth.com/pdf/Educational%20Forum%20Calendar%2009R_Layout%201.pdf I'm betting they went to two locations and twice a month due to patient feedback and that is great for me!
