  1. Last week - 195 This week - 193 2 lb loss! My birthday was this week so I think that slowed down my loss this week. I cannot complain about 2 lbs though! I am working out 3 times a week and one of them is a group training session. I still only have the 2cc's in the band they put in during surgery. I don't think I am ready for a fill yet. I am hoping that I never do, but I know it is there if I need it! Gilta

    Human Garbage Disposal

I am not there yet. I am finding my Snacks in between meals is holding me over nicely. I went for a fill last week and because I am losing 2 lbs+/week they won't fill me. I was told to call the office when I stop losing. I have 2 cc's in a 15cc band. Maybe they can get you in a bit earlier. Gilta
  3. I am trying to put together a list of what I want to do once I hit goal. I know I will only be able to do one of them so I thought I would ask so I can get ideas. Here are some that I have come up with: 1. Trip to Mall of America for shopping spree 2. Vacation (we normally go to the caribbean so maybe like Scotland or Italy) Any other ideas? Gilta

    fill at surgery question

Hi, I had a 15cc band put in and the MD put in 3 cc's during surgery. I went yesterday to see if I needed a fill, but I didn't! I am hungry after about 3-4 hours, but 1/2 cup fills me up nicely. My MD said that he has a few patients who never need a fill. He said if I keep on doing what I am doing (I am also losing 2 lbs/week) I won't need a fill. Good luck on your surgery. Gilta
  5. Wow - everyone is doing well. I have lost 3 lbs since last Friday. I did a class on Monday, worked out on Wednesday and I go for another class on Saturday. Gilta

    Onederland

Hi All, Sorry I have been MIA. I had some major family issues to deal with the past few weeks. I hit below 200! I am very excited as you can imagine. It has been over 5 years since I have been below that number and the only reason why was due to complications due to a surgery. I have had a bit of fun trying on stuff that formally did not fit me and now they do. I was very excited when I found that a faux fur coat I bought quite a while ago (it was too small but I thought I could lose to get into it) now fits! It is on its way of being too big. I will be able to wear a big sweater underneath it. I am scheduled for a fill this friday but I don't know if I will get it. I don't have the huge hunger issues that others have. I am getting in about 800 calories a day. I do get full after the 1/2 cup meal that takes me about 15/20 minutes to eat. I will be calling them today to see what they suggest. They may want to wait another week. What do you think? Should I hold off? Gilta

    Strange Pain Question

I am glad you got some answers. I would call your primary and ask them if you could have a prescription until you see him on Monday. THis way you don't have to suffer over the weekend. Good Luck Gilta
  8. Mely - I love the photo idea! Lana - I remember 1999 and hopefully I will be smaller than I was so I can party too! Laura - Maybe we will meet each other there. I am hoping to make it sometime in the spring next year, but it all depends on how fast I am losing. I could NEVER do what your daughter does. Good for her! Jessenia - I think we all need a vacation! Cutie - I avoided one of my HS reunions because I was so embarressed by my size. I like your idea. General - NC is beautiful. I hope someday to move there. Jason - I cannot do without the shirt in the US, but maybe on my trip to Europe. I am sure your son will love having you ride the go carts. We have a slider track here that I have not tried as I was worried if I would fit. Hopefully I can soon. Thanks everyone for your ideas! Gilta

I have a 15 cc band and they put about 2cc at the time of the surgery. Thanks for the advice.

    Hi from scotland

Good luck on your surgery. One of my "goal" trips is a trip to Scotland. We have hosted a single malt scotch tasting at our home in the US (New York State) for 8 years now. It has always been my dream to visit your wonderful country. If you have any suggestions on where to go and what to see, please feel free to send me a private message. I hope the surgery goes well. What is your NSV?

Here are mine: 1. Fitting in clothes that were too small when I bought them! 2. Finally feeling comfortable in clothes since they now fit right. 3. My rings are too big (I hate having to resize them though) 4. Some shoes are too big (I hate this because I LOVE Shoes) 5. Ordering a dinner out and I have enough left overs for 2 other meals (I am now a cheap date!) Gilta

    Strange Pain Question

I have not had reflux, but it sounds like something is happening. I suggest you call back the office and tell them that this is still occuring and you are not eating late nor having caffeine. They probably will put you back on your meds. Gilta

    Back to work tomorrow!! ACK!

Good luck going back to work. I know it is nice to be waited on! I was exhausted my first week back even though I have a desk job. Just take your time and meds if you need them. Gilta
  14. Heather, I am so sorry to hear about your bruises! I hear they can be painful. I am scheduled for my 1st fill on 9/12. I am only occasionally getting hungery, but I am eating every 2-3 hours. I hope you feel better soon.
  15. Hi All, I have "graduated" and am allowed to add in ground beef/turkey, tomato sauce, kidney Beans and soft cheeses. I obviously will make some chili and burgers, but does anyone have any other suggestions? Thanks!

    Almost 3 weeks!

I cannot believe tomorrow it will be 3 weeks since my band! It seemed like forever to get to the surgery. The gas pains are still lurking, but nothing like what they were. I no longer need the heating pad, just occasional tylenol. I am still on the mushy phase, but will switch fully to soft next week. I have not had really any cravings, which I am thankful for. I am up to between 1/4 and 1/2 cup per serving. For a while there, I was lucky to get the 1/4. Yesterday, I got about 500 calories which is the most I have had since the surgery. I am drinking Water better too. I am losing weight pretty fast, but I am sure will slow down soon as I can now eat a bit more. I am starting to get the "head" hungry feeling. I was able to avoid it last night when after I ate a bit more than 1/4 cup, am I full or did I just like the taste of it? I decided it was the taste. I put the rest away and thought if I really wanted it, I would heat it up in 15 minutes. Guess what, I did not want it later! I guess I made it over 1 hurdle, 10 million more to go!! I have a 15 cc band in and they put in 2cc during the surgery. I go for a fill, if needed, on the 12th of Sept. I may need one the way I am going today. For those of you are preparing to get the band, take care and good luck. Those of you who have the band, CONGRATULATIONS!

    I'm One Hungry Hombre!

Good luck on your surgery! After surgery, I did not feel like eating. Actually I am just now starting to get hunger pains! Liquid diets are tough when you have no restriction. I wish you well on your journey.

    Finally Banded :)

I also had a hard time in the beginning with the Water. The PA suggested adding in some crystal lite. My problem was not only desire, but taste too. I also had popscicles that helped. Each day will get a bit better. After 3 weeks I am now just up to about 20 oz and they are fine with this. She said some people it takes a few months. Feel better soon!
  22. Kel, I am glad you feel comfortable with your decision. That is the most important thing! Things will seem like they take for every to happen and the next moment it is time for the surgery! Let us know when you finally have a date. I am now 3 weeks out and doing well. I was down 20 lbs! I know this will slow down eventually, but I am enjoying seeing the scale move fast. I started on adding in a few things this week. I feel hungry now, but only can get in about 1/4 cup at a time. I get the signal "hiccup" and immediately stop. That helps a lot. Keep in touch~

    Odd Question

No, I cannot say I have have had that. It possibly could be the gas though.

    What was your first meal?

My first meal was 1/4 cup of chilean sea bass with a bit of cream of asparagus poured over it. They just added ground beef, tomato sauce and soft cheese. I am lucky if I get 500 calories in a day, let alone 225 in a meal! I am just now starting to get hunger pains on a regular basis. If I eat something every few hours I am ok. Good luck!
  25. Good luck on your band!
