My sleep patterns have definitely changed. I am usually in bed by 10:30 and up at 5:45. Now I go to bed 11:30 or 12 and I'm up at 1:45. Takes a long time to go back to sleep and then up again by 5. I hope this doesn't last long. I enjoy my sleep and will need it when my full routine kicks back in.

@@amylynns I totally agree with your post. I know my family has to continue to live and eat the things they enjoy. They have started making healthier choices as a means of supporting me, but tonight they had hot wings. Needless to say I've almost finished another good book! I'm not going to sit in the middle of temptation. This group has given me a lot of encouragement and I appreciate everyone for sharing.

How I Prepare for Surgery Part 3 - My Soul
ShonIsLove replied to Jonathan Blue's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you for your transparency and for sharing Phil's story. My surgery was October 20th and all the questions you listed ran through my mind. I'm very thankful that I have not had any complications thus far. Today I am truly Inspired by your post and I am looking forward to the days, weeks, months and years ahead on this journey. -
Each day gets a little better. Trying to get protein shakes and liquids down are a hassle. I'm truly not hungry but I keep water beside me and sip sip sip all day. @@j.marie Happy you are feeling well. What type of band did you receive? That sounds interesting.

My bulb from the drain has a safety pin to another piece of tape. It makes it so much more comfortable. I hope the pic makes sense to you. Hopefully you'll be feeling better really soon.

@@amylynns I hope you feel better soon. Are you still taking pain meds? I wonder if you're eating (drinking) enough for all of the medication you are taking? Keep us posted.

@@layknee I hope you feel better soon. Being in the hospital is not fun, but at least they know what to do for you.

@@amylynns I was told to change by dressing daily following a shower or whenever they were soaked with Water. She stated that moisture would breed infection. Having the drain is very weird for me. I'm so happy to be home from the hospital. I have been very cautious and trying to drink as much water as possible. I've also been sipping on a Protein shake all morning. How is everyone else doing with clear liquids?

Hello October Gladiators!! Things have been going great. I'm so pleased with the whole process. The first day I had a delay in pain meds due to the fact that my IV stopped working. I'm a really hard stick, therefore they had to get they had to get the lead from the department to put it in. 5 sticks later I have a new working IV. This group helped me so much. I was able to ask for the patch to prevent nausea. I can report that I have not been nauseated at all. I've been up walking ALOT! This has worked wonderful for preventing gas. Thank you to everyone for your input and positive vibes. This was right after I returned to my room from surgery. I look forward to seeing the rest of the October Gladiators on the losers bench. I don't think I gave my stats. I'm 5 feet 4 inches Weight prior to liver shrink 317 Day of surgery 304 Not sure what it is now with all of the fluids. I'll let you all know soon.
