If you suffer with GERD be advised that the sleeve may worsen it. Make sure to do your research. A lot of people with complications post sleeve are related to pre sleeve reflux.

Of course there are lots of people that don't weigh or measure anything with great success. It's the ones that are forced to weigh and measure everything to get through a stall that I'm speaking in reference to.

I have SO many adorable outfits from when I was in my 20's. I'm hoping the 90's will resurface lol

1b. Be HONEST about what you're documenting. Lying to yourself about those little nibbles here and there will only be disastrous to the bottom line. Also, if you aren't weighing and measuring CORRECTLY, you could be grossly underestimating your totals.

that has to be beyond frustrating!

I'm hoping to hear from people that have been post op for a while now and had lots of hiccups prior to surgery. I'm aware of the gas post op, I'm more asking about regular hiccups and gas not related to surgery.
-
I am one of those people that has hiccups ALL. THE. TIME. I also have a tendency to burp a lot. I'm wondering if any of you did this a lot pre-op and if it changed or stayed the same post op. I do not, nor have I ever had trouble with reflux, just hiccups.

Let me clarify this by saying that I know that this site is for support and information, it just concerns me that so many people leave surgery empty handed.

What @@Elode said... I'm utterly shocked at how many people have no idea what they're supposed to be doing. Maybe I'm just obsessive compulsive, but there's no way on earth I could do this without educating myself on every single morsel of information I can get my hands on. Is this a lack of research or is this an inept surgical team? I sincerely interested. I'm not trying to be a b!tch, I'm just seriously concerned at how many people do not know. This is a major weak link in our bariatric system as a whole.

The purpose of your pre-op diet is not so much weight loss as it is prepping your liver to be lifted and moved out of the way in order to get to your stomach. When is your surgery? I would stick to it 100% from now on. Don't create unnecessary problems for yourself

Any major change in your body can cause your periods to get whacked out. Like @@Bufflehead said, everything will get back into it's groove soon.

@@DENISE83 so excited for you! My surgery is in 19 days and my dr called me in tablets of all my meds so that I can crush them. Hope that helps!

Nope. You got a 4 month limit. That was it. Oh well.
JUST KIDDING! Stay the course!

30 lbs is amazing! Stay the course! The payoff is sooooo much better than the quick fix. It's the difference between winning $5 on a scratch off and 100 million in the lottery.
'Twas the night before surgery . . .

Mine is 12/18 and I've taken off 12/17 to get a pedi, a massage, a long bubble bath, some light reading, drink TONS of Water (helps with recovery), prayer, meditation, etc. Total day of relaxation and celebration of my life to come!
