Uhhhhh.... Naked?!?!? Do you mean naked under your gown so they can catheterize you, right? Not bare skin before you were knocked out, right? Gosh I never really thought of that, but I suppose if that's how they do it... Regardless, I feel naked every day just walking around in full covering clothes.

If I hear one more time "But you have such a pretty face!" I. Will. Throw. Up. Your post reminds me of the fact that being overweight is obvious, but these people that say such things, they have a different kind of ugliness. It's on the inside, and that's not something that surgery can correct. I remind myself of this and those are the people that even when I'm thin I will steer clear of. That hatefulness and negativity is something that I never want to be a part of.

I will not miss the pain from the weight affecting my arthritis. I will not miss the increased pain from fibromyalgia. I will not miss feeling fat when I make love to my husband. I will not miss feeling uncomfortable in my clothes. I will not miss fear of running into someone I know. I will not miss feeling like I'll always be fat.

That thrills me to pieces. Thank you so much. I am hoping and praying that my fibro goes away or drastically changes, too. I miss working out!

Could someone please tell me what NUT is?

Thank you for sharing. I have fibromyalgia too. Did the weight loss help with that? My Dr.'s say that it isn't confirmed that it will, but they've seen cases where it helps. Also, did the surgery cause you to have a flare?

I am December 18th!

I'm December 18th! 7 days before Christmas. That should be interesting! lol

I am on the "fast track" to surgery and I have a long day on Nov. 18th. They will be doing my psych eval which will take 2.5 hours, my meeting with the dietician, 1.5 hours, and a fit test with the personal trainer, 1.5 hours. Thanks so much for asking this question! They said my psych eval will be a computerized test first and then a meeting with the Psychologist.

I hope to meet some long term friends here as I embark on this super-amazing journey! I have my consultation and meeting with the Dr. and nurse team tomorrow at Gwinnett Bariatric Center (Dr. Robert Richard) and I am THRILLED that my insurance covers the surgery, I've already been pre-certified, I have very little out of pocket, and I could be sleeved in Nov or Dec! So excited, anxious, nervous and everything in between. I am blogging my journey, so if any of you would like to join me along for the ride, maybe we can support each other! Love and Light! I got a date! I got a date! I got a date! I'm doing the happy dance! So many emotions going on right now. I jump from ecstatic to scared, and then from worried to anxious. Mostly just delighted though. I know the next few months are going to fly by, but I also hate the waiting. I've had an upset tummy for 24 hours now because my nerves are all over the place. This IS the right decision though. Even my other Dr's all agree this is going to be the best thing for me in my situation. December 18th will be here before I know it! Now I just have to wrap my head around it and decide how many people I'm willing to talk to about it. It feels very private, but I'm also not ashamed of it. Oh well, time will tell what I decide to do and I'll cross that bridge when I get there!
